Okay, so that was bad. Extremely bad.
It’s written in a way that resembles a fourteen year old girl living out her most secret fantasies by writing them down, with this novella then being the end-result. I couldn’t help but cringe.
The guy is a growly alpha male wolf-shifter who everyone loves and respects, and the girl is viewed as nothing more than a lust-object with no use beyond being the dude’s human “mate”.
This entire relationship was based on sex, and the sex itself was just horrendous. It was not hot at all.
The way these people acted honestly had me laughing out loud. And not in a good way. No, I was laughing at them. Especially at the guy. He was so over-the-top and ridiculous, I couldn’t take him even remotely serious.
This just wasn’t good.
'Mail-Order Brides' series:
1. The Alien's Mail-Order Bride - 3.0 stars
2. The Wolf's Mail-Order Bride - 1.0 star
4. The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride - 1.5 stars

@Nicole — haha yea but these are all novellas, and I just feel like those are too short to dnf, you know?🤔😅 but thank you, hun😘
@Cecelia — I definitely wouldn’t recommend it, no🤣 The first one in the series was really cute though ;)
So many romance books are based on sex it's kind of sad. We have porn for that, give us the emotional connection, the romance 😩
@Irunía — EXACTLY! Thank you, exactly that!! I just don’t see the point of writing a romance novel without any real romance, like???? I mean, obviously they do claim to love each other or whatever, but it’s just so ridiculous and it has no depth at all💀
ugh, another bad one :’) i kinda hoped the ridiculousness was at least entertaining but damn. and YES! i dislike sex-focused books too. hope next is better for uu
@Iman — yea there’s a big difference between entertaining ridiculousness and just plain bad ridiculousness. Unfortunately, this was a case of the latter🥴 and yup, sex-focused books are the absolute worst😭
wow OMG this sounds exceptionally awful 😭🥴 i mean i read books like these when i was WAYY younger and thought they were cool, but omg the way you said the sex itself was horrendous - i FEEL THAT SO MUCH. sorry you didn't like this as much, hopefully your next read will be a winner, love!
@Summer — lmaoo yea this legit felt like it was written by a teenager so I can see why one would enjoy it🤣 But is it just me or do authors who don’t know how to write a good romance, often also write the most cringey sex scenes??? And it makes me wonder; if the romance is bad, and the sex too, then how are these books even selling??💀😭
no omg i think the exact same sometimes! jessa kane + alexa riley books have been recommended to me so many times and by now i know to stay FAR FAR AWAY from those 🤣🤣 and even if, for example, a trope such as insta-love is done which is really hard to do without much sex and all, at least the connection should be believable and most importantly written well, you know? and exactly, i guess some people just have their tastes 💀
@Summer — Yesterday I had the misfortune of reading an Alexa Riley book for the first time and that one was indeed exactly like this with the no romance and bad sex. Irunía commented on my review there and said that Jessa Kane writes in the exact same way; so I have now learned that same lesson as you have I guess hahah.
And yess, I totally agree with you about the insta-love thing; it CAN be done well, but it only happens rarely, because the connection needs to build deeper and further than the initial attraction!
But yea you’re right… people have their own tastes and I guess we won’t always agree🥴🤣

this sounds awful pls what even is this 😭 sorry for the bad streak babe hope your next book is better 🥺🩷
@muskaan — no but fr, WHAT was this😭 I have absolutely no clue loll. but thanks babe, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the next one too, cus I really don’t want a bad streak😩
Uh Imme, I’m so sorry, you seem to have an unlucky streak with books right now 😯 I hope your next one is better x
What kills me is that a women wrote this. I could understand if a man was depicting a women in this way, but a woman? Come on! The #MeToo movement has happened. Do better!
@Bibliophile — yea it baffles me too. I just don’t get why a woman would even want to write this? I guess she must like being seen as a lust-object or something? it’s possible of course… but I don’t get why💀😂
I’m so sorry, you’re on such an unlucky streak! Not even the sex is good in this? Definitely skipping this one 💀 I’m wishing that your next read is better Imme! 😇😇
@hope — hahah thank you! Luckily I’m currently reading something awesome and I’m really enjoying it, so it seems the unlucky streak didn’t last too long😌❤️
Another horrible mess with over the top character and book covers barely changing the color of the dress :/ . Major bummer! At least the first one was good? Great review Imme! Hope your luck improves with the next one :*
@Federico — lolll yea it seems these five/six(?) authors have a few series together where they all use the same cover but change the colour🤣 I was happy with the first book though; it seems it really depends on the author. I think I might only check out the books from certain authors in the future from this series, because some of them literally just can’t write for sh*t (this author being one of them lol). But thanks! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the next one too ;) x
Oh no....this one sounds like a lot. Who knew that alien brides would be more interesting than wolf brides? Wonderful review, Imme!
@A Mac — hahahah yea, the alien one was sweet and gentle, but this wolf one was embarrassing💀 who would have thought?🤣 thanks, love xx
