What a beautiful gay fiasco, the proportions of which only Shakespeare can pull off. A hilariously irreverent play that is also a precise staging of desire and gender that thwarts all kinds of convention. Shakespeare was simply, certifiably, That Bitch™️.

If you can, I reccomed watching the adapatation with Jhonny Flynn and Mark Raylance and Stephen Fry! It's an all male cast and it's freaking hilarious!
Yessssss I read this in high school before I even realized I was a lesbian, and I was like “this is… really something”
My absolute favorite play. I've seen it with both an all male and an all female cast, though the best performance was still the first which had one man playing both Viola/Sebastian music was provide by the guy who co-wrote John Denver's Country Roads. Eons ago at the Folger Shakespeare Theater.
