A man joins a very exclusive club for the rich to feast on human flesh.

Really well-written short story that quickly manages to hook you. It’s a strong concept of meat becoming so rare and expensive that even the rich turn to human flesh. But it’s such a shame that the big twist at the end is completely spoiled by the title.

Barbara (NOT RECEIVING NOTIFICATIONS!) Yuck! Not sure I could "stomach" this book! Glad you enjoyed it Thibault!

Well, there isn’t anything graphic in here. It’s more about the concept and the big twist, rather than the showing of horrific things. Which makes it all the more sad that the twist is given away in the title. Thanks, Barbara :)

lol. If meat was unavailable how far would you got to get it? Interesting.

Tina (not receiving notifications!) Yikes! That title! Glad it was a relatively good shortie. Nice review Thibault!

Jamie I kind of want to read this book (because it sounds interesting) and at the same time definitely do not want to read this book (because ... yuck). 😆 Great review, Thibault!

Rosh If the main twist is that they eat the rich, the title is indeed a failure. Sounds like a creepy story that would have delivered better had we not known what the ending held. But I am curious and it is on the tor site, so I'll bookmark it for the future.
Nice review, Thibault.

Well, let’s not forget the vegetarian and vegan alternatives :)

I know. Catchy but disturbing. Thanks, Tina.

It really isn’t that bad in terms of the execution. Thanks, Jamie :)

I know, isn’t that such a waste of a perfectly good twist? Though it’s quite a good story, short and indeed free on their website. Thanks, Rosh :)

Esta What a fascinating premise, but shame about the title spoiling the twist! I also have seen a few books with cover art that spoil the story too, publishers and authors need to stop doing that. Nice review Thibault, I might check it out. 👩‍🍳

I do wish they stop spoiling the story in advance though, as you said it happens quite often. Thanks, Esta.

Donne Like others, it does sound interesting in a macabre sort of way, but the disgusting part is just too much of a turn-off.

This one’s more about the concept rather than the gore, so it really isn’t that bad, Donne :)

Nika Oh my, the title is something! It immediately grabs your attention :) Sorry it spoiled the ending though.
Nice review, Thibault. You make me want to look into this short story.

A Mac It's a bummer when the book title or cover completely spoils a story, but it seems like this one was still quite good overall. Great review, Thibault!

Yeah, it still managed to be pretty good despite the spoiler. Thanks, A Mac.
