This book's narrator and overall literary approach reminds me a lot of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time in the most pleasant way. They differ in a lot of things too but they're both very poignant tales told by a boy who has a developmental disorder, and both are dealing with death and grief.

Shit just got real for Oskar and his mom with that painful exchange.

The grandparents' entries in between Oscar's chapters leave me in distraught and indescribable sadness.
