Verdantia #5

Hers to Captivate

Rate this book
Freed after years as a sex slave, only a unique man could capture Angelica’s heart. She never anticipated finding two.

Captain of the starship VNV Revertar, Magellan DeLan is immediately attracted to his priority passenger, the lovely, intelligent Doctor Angelica Giverny. Mage plans a careful pursuit of the petite beauty when they arrive in port, but landfall brings the unexpected.

Face-to-face with a man he once worshipped, Mage yearns to say yes when Tristan DeHelios blatantly declares his dishonorable intentions, but Mage doesn't trust his heart to withstand the fallout. This man's rejection had devastated him years before.

For Angelica, having Tristan DeHelios as her bodyguard is enticing. When he pursues her, too, her emotions seethe and tangle. How can she chose between the honorable and gorgeous starship captain and a rogue whose carnal dominance challenges and provokes her at every turn?

If the alien assassins stalking Angelica succeed, her answer will be moot.

A Note About My Reviews:
Book reviews are wildly subjective. Many things influence whether or not a reader enjoys a book that are out of the author's control and unrelated to the quality of their writing. My book reviews deal with books I can recommend as having entertained me. For this reason you will not see reviews below a 3-star rating. My reviews are recommendations not critiques. I read books I don't like--books I can't finish. I just don't review them. I also do not review books by authors I edit. I do not review books to have mine reviewed, I'm easy to please. I don't require fine literature. Just tell me a good yarn.

This is book 5 in the Verdantian series and Ms. Knights continues to write this series with inventiveness, interesting characters and sexy times.

We revisit Ram and Steffania [Vixen} who rescued Dr. Angelica [Pansy] from Hers To Cherish (Verdantia, #3) by Patricia A. Knight Hers To Cherish who's been working on neurologically remapping the kidnapped noblewoman who were turned into sex slaves.

Tristan has been assigned as Angel's bodyguard because the slavers have put out a bounty on her head and finds himself just as attracted to her as he is to Mage, the ship captain who's all grown up in the eight years since Tristan last saw him and abruptly turned him down when he was just 16. Mage isn't 16 anymore and he wants answers from Tris and more from Angel.

The plot doesn't really move forward in this story but Tris, Mage and Angel get to know each other much better, would have liked to see a bit more Tris/Mage action, and the assassins sent to kill Angel are pretty nasty.

There's a sexy scene of Ram teaching Tris his shibari skills to use on Mage and Angel. The world-building in this series just gets better and better and the writing is impeccable.

Even though this is book 5, I think you could read this as a stand-alone but this has been such an excellent series, I think it would be worth it for new readers to read the whole series.

Ahh, so nice to be back on Verdantia. It's such a fascinating planet and every time I learn something new about it I have six more questions added to the list!

I really liked all three of the main characters of this story. Magellan, Tristan, and Angelica are pretty great. I think I wanted a bit more of Mage and Tris, they were hot, like holy hell hot.

I think my only issues are small ones. Battle sequences get a little confusing and the passage of time is muddy, but the sexy times are great. It also ended rather abruptly with a possible setup for the next book.

Thanks for the copy to review Ms. Knight! Can't wait to read the next one.

**This was an ARC copy given by the author for a honest review**

4-4.5 stars

This was a really good story. I really liked Angelica, Tristan and Mage and their story was well done. It fit well in the series but I actually think it could be read on it's own without major confusion.

Angelica is a doctor that was kidnapped and put through a brain wipe/wash technology to turn her into a subservient woman for men that wanted her as nothing more than a sex slave. She underwent that hell for 3 years until Ram and Steff saved her in Hers To Cherish. Fortunately, Angelica retained her medical knowledge and was able to return to her job as a doctor after her rescue.

Tristan is the younger brother of Hel (the hero of book #4, Hers To Claim). Hel and Tristan don't get along very well because (for unknown reasons), Hel tends to look down on Tristan assign him to do whatever task is most likely to keep Tristan out of the way. The most recent of these tasks is to provide security and help for a new doctor coming to the planet.

Mage is a spaceship captain who is a native of the planet Verdentia. He was friends with Tristan 8 years before and had additional interests in Tristan that prompted Mage to proposition him. Unfortunately, Mage had only been 16 at the time and Tristan couldn't get involved for multiple reasons (age only being 1). Mage ended up getting involved with spaceships, eventually working his way up to Captain in the years after the invasion.

The story begins with Angelica arriving on Verdantia to set up her new medical practice. She'd a specialist in brain trauma/injuries and has been treating a lot of the women that were held captive and subjected to the same brain wiping/washing technology that she was put through. Angelica has had some threats on her life because of her testifying against the people that were running the sex slave industry she was a prisoner of, so the powers that be have assigned Tristan to see to her safety. Tristan tends to treat a lot of his life as if it doesn't really matter (outside of his work)...as if other people's opinions of him won't matter to him and he'll just take life as it comes. He's attracted to Angelica when they first meet but he also acted a bit flirty/flighty at first, which made me wonder about him. Mage happens to be the Captain of the ship that Angelica came in on. Mage and Angelica hit it off on the trip to the planet and made plans to have dinner together. Tristan is surprised when he finds out that Mage is still alive and is now a captain of a space ship. He's always regretted that they couldn't have something before and now that they've reunited, Tristan is determined to see what he missed out on.

The trio coming together is a bit of a mess at first. Mage and Angelica both realize that Tristan is a player and could break their hearts so they both try to keep him at a distance. The two of them do end up starting something between them without Tristan, which Tristan isn't very thrilled about at all. Despite the reservations, the trio do come together in a menage that ends up working very well for them. Things move very quickly and soon they're all pretty serious about each other. Of course, that is just when the danger hits and all 3 members of the trio are threatened. There's some stressful times to get past but the story does end with the trio in a nice HEA.

I really enjoyed this story. I liked all 3 of the MCs at different levels. I think I liked Angelica the best Mage was pretty cool. Tristan I didn't like much at first but he grew on me as he started to acknowledge his feelings for the other two. Overall, the story was very good and I'd recommend it. :D

Welcome back, Ms. Knight and your smexy hotness! This book is light on the plot movement but hot & heavy on the sex. Oh boy is this book is delicious. Angelica Giverny features in her own story. We met her in book three when she was a mind raped sex slave. Angelica is now free from the asshats enslaving her as a sex slave with a side helping of medical expertise. Freed by supernova hot couple Ramsey and Steffania, she comes to help the Verdantian women who have been mind fucked. These women are ones who have their brains messed with and forced into a sexual submissive servitude when it wasn't their natural inclination. For Angelica, even though she went through the same programming, there is no deprogramming her of sexual submissive desires. She craves a dominant male to her chagrin. Verdantia males are nothing if not dominant.

Needing protection at the medical facility to help these Verdantian women, Angelica meets her new bodyguard, Prince Tristan DeHelios aka Tris. Tris carries baggage from the treatment he receives from his arrogant brother Hel. Remember him from book four? Still not impressed with Hel and his little cameo in this book does not endear him to me. Tris on the other hand is a naughty deviant whom I find very attractive. His trick with Angelica's computer "servant" is hilarious. The sexual tension between these two is good. What makes it hotter is their desire for Captain Magellan DeLan aka Mage.

Oh boy, when the three of them finally get it on, it is a sensory overload. The deferred gratification and edging is fabulous. For someone who gets off on this kind of play, Ms. Knight exceeds previous standards when it comes to cock teasing. If I had balls they would be blue. This menage is an intense triad. I love mmf menage so this worked really well for me. The bondage added a nice kick to the heat. The relationship between these three is more than just sex. They stimulate each other in both mind and body which is why I really enjoyed it. The chase Mage and Angel give Tris is fun. Tris's predatory hunting and breaking down their defenses is what I would expect from a dominant male.

This story moves at a decent pace. The majority of it is erotica with a little bit of suspense. It seems this book may be more of a set up for the next story. I'm hoping to read more about Tok and his "Sweet Pea" Eva. This book is highly recommended to menage lovers who enjoy mmf and kink.

** I was gifted this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. **

Another really strong story in the Verdantia series. And typically steamy. In this one, someone is after Pansy/Dr. Angelica Giverny. She needs to continue her work "deprogramming" the Verdantian noblewomen, and this requires lots of electronic equipment, meaning she can't just do her work on Verdantia proper. So, while she's doing her work, her personal bodyguard, who did *not* make a good first impression on Angelica, is Tris DeHelios, the black-sheep brother of Hel from the last book. As luck would have it, the captain who brought Angelica to her new home is Magellan DeLan. Mage was only sixteen when Tris knew him eight years ago, and Tris knew Mage idolized him, but Mage was too young for what Tris wanted him for. Now he's not. Mage and Angelica had been attracted to each other, but hadn't pursued anything while in transit. They soon give in to their attraction, Mage and Tris give in to their attraction as well, and Mage suggests they include Angelica. Lots of play commences.

Along the way, we learn just how far the people who want Angelica dead will go to make that happen. And all's well that ends well (though it seemed touch and go for a while). The one thing that bothered me is that Angelica had those memories "sifted" through during her captivity, but nothing was said about the person/event her captors seemed to be most interested in. I'm sure at some point that will come into play, but it seemed like they didn't even ask her in order for her to say, "Oh, yeah, this dude...," so they could home in on who they should be looking for. Still, I'm a happy camper because based on the epilogue, I'm certain this time that there's a next one. And it should be cool... I liked Tok when he was introduced, and it would be nice to see him find someone to love, too.

Love, love, love this story. So many things to gush over. The characters are fabulous, insightful, complex and leave you wanting for more. Just more. My most favorite part is the shibari training. I have seen pictures, but to read the sensations as they were happening is positively blissful. I am not a big fan of male to male sex scenes, however after reading these scenes, I have reconsidered for this author only. So many feels. Gah! I am positively speechless, but don't take my word for it, read it yourself! Enjoy! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

DNF...I just didn't feel the love.

I didn't like that H1, Mage, the only one of the trio who seemed genuine wanted the menage relationship only to keep Tris, H2 faithful during his long absences. Tris even admits he would cheat if Mag was gone long enough!!??The h didn't seem all that much in love either, more in lust.

The book may have gotten better but Tris didn't seem a character who deserved or even wanted a HEA and so I wasn't really compelled to stick around.

As always this is my honest opinion.

One steamy ménage! This is an excellent combination of sci-fi and steam. Tristan is to be Dr. Ginevry’s bodyguard, Dr. Ginevry is a former sex slave and is being hunted and Mage is the Captain of the ship transporting them. And both men want her. Great read! Plenty of suspense and a whole lot of steam. Loved it!

First, a word of warning for the weak of heart. Second, an invitation to all those nymphos out there. THIS BOOK IS CHOCK FULL OF SEX.

Good Time photo Maron_S1_E7-Gif.gif

PAK's books have always had copious amounts of tremendous sex in them--and not just sex--sex that moves the plot and story forward.

Sliding Hands photo 7267200.gif

Hers to Captivate is the same only more.

Hands photo 7352800.gif

And when I say more, I mean marathon more.

Mephisto's Loves You photo MephistoPheles.gif

If you read this book and have dry panties at any point, you are officially a zombie.

ShaunZombie photo ShaunZombie_1.gif

Or dead. Really what's the difference. Anyway, onward to the review...

Yes, while there is sex, there is a story! As expected of PAK. And that's what I love about the Verdantia Series. It's sex and aliens that makes sense. You know how people talk about how a place becomes a character or even an item, like the magic staff (pun intended) becomes a character? Well FUCKING is a character all it self in this series. Yes, Fucking is an actual character in the book much like Chicago is a character in the Harry Dresden series. Fuck is also a noun due to Patricia A. Knight. REMEMBER...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

 photo titan_prev_by_ladygt-d86vb0v.gif

This fifth installment is about Tristan (Sexy as sin) DeHelios, Megellan and PANSY!! I mean Dr. Giverny.

To better your odds at understanding the world if you haven't discovered the Verdantia Series then start with Hers to Command. And just like in the first book we have another triad!! Woot! Yes, there is M/M/F sex and they swing every way.

 photo Iswingeveryway.gif

And they are much more sexy than Alan Cumming. (Sorry Alan baby, you know I love you)

Tristan, the errant brother deemed with the job of guarding Dr. Angelica Giverny (Pansy from Hers to Cherish) she comes to Verdantia to help the women who were freed from the Vyloxian slave trade (who she herself was also a victim of).

Captain Magellan (Mage) is the captain bringing Pansy and the other women to Verdantia for recovery. There's always been an attraction between Tris and Mage but Angelica (Pansy) helps the two unite and from there the plot thickens.

 photo Ill-be-in-my-bunk-gif-utCR.gif

Ramsey and Steffania (Hers to Cherish) are back but briefly. Hell and Adonia (Hers to Claim) also give a little bit more of a cameo and provide much needed closure for Tris from the previous book. And that's all I'm saying because...

Spoilers photo spoilers.gif

It's a fast paced, fun ride and you need it on your book shelf!

I received this copy from the Author for an honest review.

Hers to Captivate is the fifth book of the Verdantia series. I will like to start by underlining two facts: a) If I could choose where to be born in any fantastical/alternative universe I have ever read (and I've read of plenty) it would be Verdantia, and b) I found out about the art/discipline/kink of Japanese Bondage from the third book of this series Hers to Cherish. Something that has changed my life in an extremely awesome way. Saying that I was excruciatingly waiting for the publication of this book is an understatement.

Prince Tristan DeHelios is the jaded hero, who hides behind a façade of care-free/care-not because he's scared of disappointing, yet again his big brother Prince Gurley DeHelios, who considers him a heedless, immature, baby brother- or at least so he thinks. Tristan's current task, assigned by Hel, is to provide protection and assistance in every possible way to Dr. Ginevry and the returning Verdatian female nobles. He's the Dom. His wish their command. His commands their wishes. He doesn't submit. Ever.

Dr. Angelica Ginevry, aka slave Pancy, has escaped the clutches of sex slavers and has testified against the bad guys, however there is always a bigger and badder guy behind the ones you've already dealt with. Dr. Angel is being hunted by assassins, because apparently she knows the face of the Bigger Badder Guy. While running for her life, the good doctor, who is an expert in neurological and psychological reintegration, uses her skills to rehabilitate the precious Verdantian nobles, who have had their brain wiped and rewind to sex slave submissive behavior, while kidnapped. We see how a part of the slave trade has been taken down by the combined efforts of Lord Ramsey DeKieran and Steffania in Hers to Cherish (Book #3). Dr. Angel is the powerful submissive, that unites two Dominant males.

Captain Magellan DeLan, has grown up, but never grew out of his crush with Tris. Mage was fostered into Tristan's family in Nyth Uchel. They make their reacquaintance after eight years apart, when Mage flies in Dr. Angel and her entourage/equipment. The accidental meeting of the two males sparks feelings lost for eight years. Although for Verdantians, anything goes, Mage finds himself embarrassed by his lack of sexual male to male experience, but as he confesses no other can do but Tristan. Magellan's interest is not exclusive to Tristan, as Dr. Angel enchants him.

The chess pieces are in place. Three people falling for each other, figuratively and literally speaking. Add to that ribbons and ropes and a "husbands kit" and a lot, and I mean A LOT, "O denial" and you've got some amazing love scenes. Tristan guides both his lovers into a maelstrom of sensuality, sensation and depravity.

I felt some of the sex scenes were incomplete but I was satisfied. I expected more planetary action but most of our story takes place on the spaceport city of Arkodaemia, where technology doesn't fry out. I did get to "visit" some parts of Verdantia, like the Sh'r Un Kree and Nyth Uchel but only in the end of the book.

I overly enjoyed the book, and I will anxiously wait for the continuation. I would have liked to see our three heroes together on the planet more, but I understand that that's just my selfish desire for more sex scenes by Ms. Knight. Another selfish desire is that I would prefer the books to be longer *cheeky grin*

The Epilogue has Tok going after Sweet Eva, and I hope the book that will tell their story comes very soon. I hope the Verdantia universe expands even more. Thank you Ms. Knight.

One of my favorite things about reading is the escapism; wrapping yourself up in another time and place, a new and exciting world. And when it comes to building a fascinating, unique world, Patricia Knight is the queen and Verdantia my guilty pleasure.

While it’s possible to read Hers To Captivate as a stand-alone, I would definitely recommend reading the series in order, starting with Hers to Command. It gives you a more in-depth look into the characters, their backstory and the history of Verdantia.

In this, the fifth installment of the Verdantia series, we follow the recently rescued Dr. Angelica (Angel) Giverny as she sets up a clinic on Verdantia to treat her fellow rescued sex slaves. With a bounty on her head and several attempts on her life since her testimony against her captors, High Lord DeTano and Queen Constante have sent Tristan DeHelios to be her bodyguard and head of security. After a rocky first meeting, Angel is both attracted to and repulsed by Tristan. Deciding she’s ready for a distraction, she invites Captain Magellan (Mage) DeLan to dinner. Little does she know that Mage and Tristan have a long, emotional history. Once, a long time ago, Tristan denied his feelings for Mage and hurt him terribly. But that’s not a mistake Tristan is going to make twice. Tristan has plans for Mage... Only he didn’t foresee the growing feelings they each have for Angel.

This one was more relationship and sex centric than the previous books in the series. While there is the suspense of finding and eliminating the threat on Angel’s life, that plot was more in the background for quite a bit of the book. I liked the change, though; I found it refreshing.

If you are like me, picky about your menage reads, don’t worry. The genesis of their menage feels natural. While they all are equally attracted to each other, in the beginning Mage and Tristan’s already established emotional relationship made me feel a bit as if Tristan was simply using Angel as a means to have Mage. Something Angel even questions. But, by the end, it was a true triad.

In true PK fashion, we get smoking hot sex with both meaning and emotion, suspenseful action and a world you can’t help but lose yourself in. It’s why the Verdantia series is one of my favorite escapes and why I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next. Tok’s story maybe? I hope so. I love that big Khlossian!

Ms. Knight continues her Verdantia series with Hers to Captivate (Verdantia #5). As usual this author delivers the sexy, well-wrought, naughty love scenes that we all enjoy. If you love erotic with a BDSM twist, or you love sexy Futuristic/Sci-fi or both genres craftily melded together, then the Verdantia series is definitely a great place to start.

Dr. Angel is a cool, polished beauty with a traumatic past that just the right male (or males!) can help her to overcome. Captain Mage is the space Captain of your dreams with a beautiful body to match. Prince Tristan is just the right amount of dark sexy alpha, mixed with a speck of genuine heart throb. The three together are a combination that will have you humming in deep throated pleasure.

If you don’t know what a threesome looks like, you will be delighted to see how effortlessly Ms. Knight brings these three together. It’s better than good, it feels down right natural for these three to love each other hard and long.

Hers to Captivate is yours to enjoy!

I absolutely love Verdantia and am so glad to be able to revisit this amazing world. This series just gets better and better with each installment. I can't begin to say how much I enjoy each new layer that is brought to life with exquisite skill by Patricia A. Knight. This book fits in right along the others in all aspects. The characters are so much more than who they appear at first. The depth of strength, caring and emotion is by far the best part of this story. I love the intrigue and excitement that the unfolding storyline of the slave traders has brought to this world. Each installment of this series brings us closer to the people and the planet itself, giving us a world that is crafted so completely and so wonderfully that the reader is drawn in and made to feel as if this work exists and can be visited at any time. I have no idea where this story will go (ok not true, I can see where it's leading but I won't say) but I can't wait to come back to Verdantia, it's always a pleasure!

What , for me, placed Verdtantian books in category of their own, was not the sizzle factor, which is present in this book in spades, but strong story lines as well as courtly, gracious, almost Renascence feel to them. It was in everything - elegant language, charm and humor, descriptions and even in the behavior and attire of the characters. In this respect, with much more "modern" feel to it, much heavier emphasis on sex and less of the story, "Hers To Captivate" was disappointing and on Verdantian scale slipped from "something special" to "ordinary" . Can we please, please do back to that special, magical place, the Verdantia of Fleur Ari and Doral, that original place that we fell in love with and not generic "like any other place" of this book ?!

An intense menage à trois

Sweet Angel! She's the perfect match for those two alpha boys!! Tris is so intense. What I wouldn't do to play with him!! And I definitely need a picture of the beautiful Mage.

As always it's well written and the story is really good. I missed the sentient planet in this book. The technological part of Verdantia is of less interest for me since I love the Magick parts.

I highly recommend this book. All the serie really!!

I just didn't get as "involved" with the characters as in the other previous books, but that's more of a personal thing...
PS: Tristan was my favorite.

Another great book in the Verdantia series. This menage story has everything: heart, heat and for once -- God love her -- a male virgin over a female. Written with lots of wit and humor, expect a great storyline, several budding romances and many erotic encounters in this well-crafted story.

What can I say but this book took me they the wringer of emotions. The sensuality between Tris, Mage and Angelica should have set my book on fire. The re-uniting of Hel and Tris and the defeat of those trying to harm Angelica, make an exciting read.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as all of the previous books in the series. This book really relied on the reader having read all of the previous books. I think the author should have spent more time on developing the characters so that the book could have been a standalone. I believe that this book was written to set up an arc for more to be added to the series. Tok and Eva Sweet's story should be next.

I've read many. many books over my lifetime. Quite a few of them by masters of Fantasy and Science Fiction, and Ms. Knight's writing could easily stand in their company. Her world building is excellent as is her dialog, plotting, and pacing. Her characters are so easy to get wrapped up in and hard to forget that it's wonderful.

This is our fifth trip to Verdantia, the author's magical (literally) world, and I couldn't wait to get back! The plot was a real nail biter and rarely have I encountered a more terrifying enemy than the mekanikos. I know I'm not from Verdantia, but I completely understand why Tok found the solution he did.

My one quibble is my issue, but I wanted to put it out there anyway. This is erotic sci-fi, people. Make no mistake. My problem is a lack is kink alignment.

To sum up, buy the book 'cause it's awesome, and just as importantly, well written!

This story is about Angelica, the doctor/psychologist rescued from sexual slavery on Vxlonica in Hers To Cherish. There is a bounty put on her head so she is repatriated to Verdantia by Captain Magellan DeLan (Mage) on his ship VNV Revertar. Once in Verdantia she is put into a safe house and given a bodyguard, Tristan DeHelios.
Tris and Mage know each other from over eight years ago when Tristan spurned Mage's advances due to his young age(he was only 16 at the time). Consequently Mage isn't too struck on Tris and sparks fly between the two, further inflamed when both lust after Angelica. They manage to resolve these differences in an entertaining sexy triad way and we are treated to some BDSM menage magic.
Then just as life seems fine the storm clouds break and the bad guys roll into town and the action out of the bedroom starts. We get cameos of Ramsey and Steffania and Hel and Andonia.
There is not the same plot building in this episode as in others and I look forward to a bit more action when Tok goes after Eva in the next book.
While I did enjoy this book I needed more outside the bedroom but still a solid 4 star read.

Forced relationships

Forced relationships lead to boring sex and drudgery. Bringing up other romances from other books to reduce the blowback from this dud was ineffective. Short, zero tension romance. Why write it in that their relationship lasts for a handful of days with all parties conscious then lead to a wedding... which would have been so dull that one needn’t even go into details about the wedding because of the zero interest anyone would have in the characters. I liked the other books decently enough on my long trip that I finished them. This one was boring and hard to get through. I found myself reading the first and last sentences of paragraphs to get enough info to roughly keep the story, the major never ending boring sex scene took 4 sittings to skip through. Bleh. If you have to say, “this character is deep, see they are deep,” in so many words over and over... you missed it. The Dom being a whiny cry baby who throws tantrums failed to be hot. Not one tantrum, but many. Yikes. Only hope the next book with the klossian and Eva sweet make it worth finishing this one on their introduction alone. I guess different folks like different sex. Even loser complex fantasies.

I received this copy from author for an honest review.
If you already read Verdantia books you know what to expect. If you didn’t, and you like science fiction in combination with epic fantasy and mixed with hot sex scenes, you will love these books.
I really enjoyed the story of Tris, Mage and Angel, but I missed a little more action outside the bedroom. You have two fights, and that is it. The problem is probably in the fact that the story is happening in one city, but it could be a bit more exciting.
I have to admit, I loved the sex scenes, as usual, and I simply love Verdantia, and the fact that we read about Stefania and Lord DeKieran again. I really love those two.
In the end, if you want to run away from reality, and enjoy another world, you should really try this book and others from Verdantia series, and I hope we’re not going to wait to long for another story.

Great Sequel to a Great Series

The planet Verdatia lives as a sentient being and certain people with a specific genetic sequence can contact her and channel her energy to everyone else while engaging in a great rite of love. The highest form is with a triad of lovers and this book follows the development of a new triad, amidst a dangerous assignment to protect Dr. Angela from Her's to Cherish. The protection is provided by Tristan De Helios, brother of Prince Hel both from Her's to Claim. Although this can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the series in order, or at least reading #3 Cherish. For those who are upset by D/s and M/m/f, this is not your book. Otherwise this is a great sci-fi, romance, action story with excellent, well-developed characters. Can't wait for the next one.

I received an ARC to review from the author.
I love the Verdatia series!!! And true to the other novels in this series, it’s steamy, hot and sexy. Unfortunately I was left wanting more. This novel lacked the character depth that I usually found in the other stories. It’s hard to understand Angelica’s inner turmoil if you haven’t read Hers to Cherish, or Tristan’s tense relationships without having read Hers to Claim. It felt like a prelude to the next chapter in this series. Still a good read, but not Patricia A. Knight usual. 3.5 stars ***

Awesome addition to the series.

Another great story about Verdantia. This series is so good I am really looking forward to the next book. The three main characters, Tris, Mage and Angelica, are awesome together and I really enjoyed the interaction between the three of them. And, hot, hot, hot. Each book in this series is a valuable addition to the series as the world building is very good. I highly recommend this series. I received this book from the author for an honest review.
