Love & Hate #2

To Hate Adam Connor

Rate this book
So you may ask, who is Adam Connor? He is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. He also happens to be an exquisite male specimen and the most infuriating sly bastard I’ve ever come across.

Let’s be honest here, wouldn’t you wanna take a peek over the wall to catch a glimpse of him, hopefully when he is naked? Wouldn’t you melt away after watching him work out as his five-year-old kid cheered him on? Do I even have to mention those abs, the big bulge in his pants, or that arm porn? Oh, wait, you would never spy on him? Sure…

While I was being thoughtful by not breaking and entering and was actually considering going over to offer him a shoulder—or maybe a boob or two—to cry on (y’know, because of his divorce), instead he had me thrown in jail after a small incident. Jail, people! He was supposed to grant me countless orgasms as a thank you, not a jail cell.

After that day, I was mentally plotting ways to strangle him instead of jumping his bones to make sweet love. So what if my body did more than just shiver when he whispered dirty little things in my ear? I can’t be held responsible for that. And when was the last time he’d kissed anyone anyway? Who’d enjoy a kiss with a side of heart attack?

Even if he and his son were the best things since sliced bread—and I’m not saying he was—I couldn’t fall for him. No matter what promises he whispered on my skin, my curse wouldn’t let us be. I wasn’t a damsel in distress—I could save myself, thank you very much—but deep inside, I still hoped Adam Connor would be the hero of my story.

Writing has become my world and I can’t imagine myself doing anything other than giving life to new characters and new stories. You know how some things simply makes your heart burst with happiness? A really good book, a puppy, hugging someone you’ve been missing like crazy? That’s what writing does to me. And all the hard work, all the sleepless nights, all the anxiety…everything is worth it at the end. And I'm hoping that reading my books will leave you with that same happy feeling.

4.75 ⭐️ excuse me WHY is Jason Thorn more talked about than Adam Connor? A CRIME upon society I tell you. listen, I liked the first book a lot but the second puts it to shame. it’s superior, I said what I said. Lucy was my favorite ever. She was independent and hilarious, she spoke her mind and didn’t let anyone walk all over her. & Mr. Adam Connor… sir? sir will you adopt me so I can also call you daddy? because DAMN, this man. I smiled throughout the entire book, the banter was A1 and the fact that they didn’t lose that even after they no longer hated each other? yes, just yes. & ugh aiden was precious!!! fictional kids really do be cute.. real ones on the other hand, debatable. i’m kidding. sort of. anyway, this book was amazing. the perfect romcom when you just need a feel-good escape <3

4.5 Cursed STARS

Breaking News: To Hate Adam Connor is a WINNER!

description

Fans of To Love Jason Thorn may remember Olive’s best friend Lucy if not have no fear this story can be read as a standalone. Lucy Meyers feels that the women of her family are cursed. Though she loves to watch her best friend bask in the love she has found she has no disillusions that she will experience the same especially when her boyfriend moves out of town and doesn’t ask her to join him.

”I’m never saying I love you to any other guy again. Mark my words. The moment you spill the words, they screw you over. So I’m done with that. I don’t even care if he is a God in bed, or if he has a foot-long in his pants. No more I love yous.”

description

Lucy moves in with Olive and Jason Thorn till she gets her life back on track. While on one of her stalking expeditions of Hollywood’s heartthrob and recently divorced Adam Connor she jumps over the wall into his back yard to save his young son. From Adam and Lucy’s first scene things don’t go so well between the two of them and well that’s where the title is born.

"With every passing day, I hated Adam Connor even more; how that was even possible…don’t ask me. It had somehow started to become a passion of mine.”

Little Aiden Connor instantly likes Lucy, Olive, and Jason and so in a bind, Adam finds himself having Lucy helping out with his son while he works on a film, battles his ex-wife, and slowly starts to fall for this infuriating woman.

The banter and humor are fantastic while the sexual tension is off the charts between Adam and Lucy.

”Our eyes stayed locked. This time, I took a step toward her, raising the stakes. I wanted to see where she was going with the act. “Does it feel good?” She frowned at my question and her had halted on my abs. “Does it feel exactly like you imagined it or better? Too soft?” I flexed my muscles and leaned closer to her. “Too hard?”

Overall, this story was not only funny with one hell of a sexy DILF/book hero but the author also threw in a few twists that I never saw coming! Adam’s son adds a cuteness level while his ex-wife’s antics weren’t too overpowering to the story and the attraction and fall was always the main focus. The sex scenes are scorching hot while Lucy tries to resist Adam with every fiber of her being. Adam wins her heart and this reader and Elle Maise surpassed my expectations with book two of this series.

"I’ll hold you up, Lucy. You can trust me. I see who you are. I see who are, and I want you to choose me. I want you to open your eyes and look at me so you can see that I have what it takes, that I can take care of heart for you.”

This is my absolute favorite book of 2016! When I tell you I LOVED it, I mean if I was rich, I'd totally buy all of Goodreads their own copy :) Lucy is my kind of heroine. She is sarcastic, hilarious, sweet, sassy and so much more. Adam is a great single father and Lucy's perfect match... even if he's the one that causes her to go to jail LOL Lucy's friendship with her bestie Olive is amazing. The rapport they have feels so genuine and easy that there's no doubt as to the depth of their love for one another. The plot has some laugh out loud moments and I pretty much maintained the cheesiest and biggest smile while listening to/reading this. My coworkers and family were giving me that "what in the world is going on with her smiling like a weirdo?" look. The sexy times are incredibly hot, though they don't happen until the latter part of the book. I was so into the characters I hadn't even noticed we were well beyond 50% with no real nookie. lol I was SO happy that Adam didn't play any games and didn't mess up when the plot made it easy for him to do so. Oh and if you like kids in romance stories... you will absolutely fall in LOVE with Aidan. The little bugger was so flipping cute. I pretty much devoured this book and became an instant devoted fan. So if this book has hit your radar... treat yourself! Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing. A little ex drama for both our MCs. No rape or abuse.

I think I could've enjoyed this book more if the heroine wasn't such an annoying, immature, kooky character. I really could not connect with her. I hated the way she continued to play her silly "I hate you but I want you" games almost to the end. I wanted her to own up to her feelings and stop being so...weird. I skimmed from 66% on. Definitely not my cuppa.

Gosh the h annoyed me so much.
Such an immature, wishy-washy character who kept talking about her ex-boyfriend monster dick.
Even in the last 30% where she thinks she is pregnant with her ex's baby but throws herself at the H and he fucks her brains out.🙄

“Your ex?” he asked, his disbelieving eyes on me. “I thought you said you loved him.”
I thought I did. I mean, I did. But he had a giant thing in between his legs and as I already told you, I have a thing for those, as in I like my fucks to be good and hard.”

Why did Lucy feel the need to talk about other man’s junk constantly? Could you imagine if Adam had been the one to talk about what size vag he desires with her? There’s quirky, and then there is just downright ridiculous. Lucy annoyed me for the vast majority of this story.

The ott drama and twist at the end was so stupid. Even Sebastian York’s voice wasn’t enough to save this one.

"I will be the one who speaks to your heart, Lucy Meyer, just like you seem to speak to mine."

Oh my god!! This book was absolute perfection. I enjoyed every second of it. It was lighthearted, heartwarming, sweet and wholesome. The banter and humour was fantastic. Some parts were really funny and some were heavy but it was really balanced throughout the whole story.
The starting was a bit slow for me but when Adam finally met Lucy things just keep on getting interesting and it was really captivating till the end. I loved the family dynamics of Lucy, Adam and Aiden. They were just so adorable 😭💞 and Adam "freaking hottest hollywood Daddy" Connor oh god, I was swooning over this man the whole time.
I love love love Olive and Lucy's friendship💗 they both are just so funny and always ready to help and comfort each other. It was everything.

Hell we even got so many scenes of Jason and Olive. Their sweet little moments were everything for me. They are still my favourite and I was giggling everytime they appear in this book 💗 I literally fell in love with Jason in his book and he is the sweetest person😭💗 I miss them so much already..

The "Enemies to Lovers" trope is one of my favourite ones and Ella wrote it so well in it with perfect amount of sexual tension and hate and spice and explosive chemistry ✨️ There was not a single moment in this book where I didn't feel connected to the characters, where I didn't felt their pain their hopes and their love. I also liked that there was this small twist in the end which I never saw coming.

Ella Maise has become one of my favourite author for writing swoon worthy, endearing and wholesome romance books and I'm gonna read everything she writes. I love how she kept things simple and sweet in this book with a pinch of reality about how some people feel about Love. It was just perfect. And yessss she writes the hottest yet the sweetest man.

Lucy Meyer
She is independent, hilarious, strong and comforting. I loved reading her chaotic thoughts as she is the funniest but also so relatable. She has a skepticism about love and romance but I am so happy that she found Adam. She always knows what she wants and never let anyone walk over her. I liked how she made Aiden feel loved and comforted. It was so beautiful. I felt so connected with her character.

"I never wished for a prince to save me, because I can save myself, thank you very much... but I'm wishing for it now... I hope -and I can hope really hard- that your kiss will break the curse. I hope it's you, Adam. I hope you're the hero of my story, because I deserve to be loved, goddamnit. I deserve to have you to myself. I deserve to love you."

Adam Connor
This man is perfect and absolutely delicious😩 ask lucy if you have any doubts...
He is grumpy but also fucking sweet Aiden and Lucy. The things he did for Aiden were so heartwarming. He slowly crept his way into Lucy's heart and it was beautiful watching them slowly falling in love. He never let her doubt anything about his feelings for her. He treated her the best perfect way. He is so special and lovable.

"My nights and days and everything in between would be filled with this woman. That I wouldn’t let her go. I’d be her home. I’d give her a family. I’d be her family. Her heart."

The ending was what I needed and Lucy never was cursed. she just needed to believe in love a little and Adam gave her everything she deserved. They had a wedding and now Lucy has her own family. A beautiful one with Adam and her two little boys 💗💗 I love them with all of my heart.

This is one of those hard to rate books.

At times I adored the MC. She's sarcastic and funny and interesting.
But... Yes, there is always a "but". There were moments when I felt like the author was trying too much and the MC's attitude was exaggerated. She was annoying and she acted like a 5 year old.
Now you see why this book is hard to rate?!

Except the MC, nothing else was remarkable about it. Sorry to say that, since everyone seemed to love this one, but well, it wasn't as special as I expected. Yes, Lucy was interesting, she might be a good enough reason to try this out, but unfortunately, one good-ish character doesn't make a great book.

LMAO! Sounds like hero had heroine thrown in jail for stalking!

This book takes a really weird pro-life, anti-adoption, slut-shamey turn in the latter half for no reason. It’s very uncomfortable.

Not to mention that the “meet cute” is this woman spying on a man with his child in the privacy of their own home, PHOTOGRAPHING THEM by climbing the wall of their backyard with a ladder. I’m sorry, how was that ever suppose to become cute? There is an actual violent stalker included later in the book and honestly the only reason I can see for that to happen is to make her look better by comparison. Like “look, see, she was never actually a dangerous stalker, she just invaded his privacy”

“ “Just you and me from now on, Lucy,” I whispered into her skin. “Just you and me” ”

I don't think my heart can handle these two anymore 😭. Lucy and Adam’s story is just pure perfection, I repeat, pure perfection I swear omg. I was already so excited for Lucy’s story and I expected it to be really good, BUT NOT THIS GOOD.

“You make me lose track of myself when you look into my eyes with such intensity, Adam Connor. You make me feel like I’m the only one.”

After reading To Love Jason Thorne, I already had a feeling that Lucy and Adam’s story was going to be really special. The story between them two was so sweet but it definitely had those emotional parts in it where I really felt for Lucy and Adam. AND GOD omg Lucy and Aiden were truly the best duo in the world. Reading about Lucy and Adam’s son , Aiden, was just amazing and I loved both their characters so much. AND THE BANTER, I can’t not talk about this. The banter between Lucy and Adam was just so good, it had me smiling and laughing literally the whole time.

“You’re going to tell me you love me. Tell me and give me your heart, and I promise you, Lucy…I promise you I’ll take care of it.”

I just loved reading how Adam slowly crept his way into Lucy’s heart, it was so sweet, happy and emotional at the same time. Lucy definitely had trouble with loving someone after what happened with her ex, but Adam always made sure to take care of Lucy and show her that she could really love again. Adam is actually so special and loving. My heart broke when he told Lucy that she could love again and especially the ending because it was just perfect!

"4,5 Firecracker stars"

This book was AMAZING!!!!

"Let's not play games, Lucy.
I want your heart and I will have it."

description

I loved everything about it and I wasn't expecting to like it so much!It was a nice surprise! I enjoyed Adam and Lucy and their little human Aiden! Of course Olive and Jason were very present in this book and had some funny moments!

description

Let's start with this review and the great things I have to share with you.

This book was pretty funny especially Lucy with Olive were hilarious! They were like sisters from another mister so they did a lot of crazy things together...I really enjoyed their bond and their conversations. I loved Olive so I'm pretty sure I'm going to read the first book too.

"Promise?"
"Promise. Hell, you know what? I'll even let you cuddle me."
"And while I'm cuddling you, will you be cuddling your pretty husband?
Olive Thorn, are you granting me a cuddling threesome because I'm a victim of love?
If so, I'll totally take that."

description

The reason I gave this book a shot except from the alluring blurb was the fact that I love cute kids in books! Adam's son Aiden was really sweet and adorable! Everyone loved him I mean who wouldn't...?I liked his bond with Adam and later his bond with Lucy! The three of them created a lovely family. Lucy loved the little human so much and was there to help him with everything!

She was our Lucy, Aiden's and mine.

Now we're getting to the good stuff!ADAM AND LUCY!
Adam Connor was amazing, handsome, hot, sweet with Lucy and a great dad with Aiden! At the beginning he was an asshole with Lucy but you know I love them, and Adam was a HOT asshole who became the sweetest guy when he found his ONE! The best thing between them were their fights. They were fighting for everything and anything and that was the best foreplay ever. Their chemistry was off the charts HOT! And I REALLY mean H.O.T!!!

"Just a small taste. Just to hold you over. Maybe I'll put my c*ck right in here and let you have a taste before I do anything else. Or maybe I won't. Maybe I won't be able to stop myself from going deep inside you before I make a mess in your mouth and watch you swallow it all."

description

Their kissing sessions alone were a turn on! The author described their scenes together so beautifully that I had a clear picture on my mind about the dirty things they were doing...After that you can imagine how sexy and hot their sex scenes must be.HOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!

description

"I'm going to un-break your heart, Lucy."

And he did, not only with his love for her and the sweet talks, but with his WHOLE package. His masculine body, gorgeous face, amazing arms and a very impressive body part in the low area!!! That caused some damage...But I think Lucy handled it like a champ!!!

description

That my nights and days and everything in between would be filled with this woman. That I wouldn't let her go. I'd be her home. I'd give her a family. I'd be her family. Her heart.

Yeahhhh, I know! Adam Connor was that kind of sweet. Not so much at first but when he started acknowledging his feelings and the way his heart fluttered every time Lucy was near him...that was his answer! And he made his move...It took some time to convince her but in the end he did it!

Overall this book was great and a funny. If you look something like that, then give it a try you may love it as much as I did!!!

Enjoy! xxx

Book: To Hate Adam Connor
Author: Ella Maise
Type: Standalone; Book 2 in Love & Hate
POV: First Person - Dual
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: DNF

Age: Lucy - 22/23; Adam - 28.

DNF'd at around 30%.

I love single parent romance and to say I was really looking forward to this one...
Lucy annoyed me from the get-go. She spent quite a long time talking about her ex-boyfriend and her love for his monster dick. And how she wouldn't mind loving another big-dick. Frankly, her talking about these dicks started to annoy me. This quote from her was literally at 2%.

I’ve already mentioned how good those monster cocks feel, haven’t I? I wouldn’t have minded if he were a tad bit thicker, but, oh well…I guess you can’t have it all in life.

I’m never saying I love you to any other guy again. Mark my words. The moment you spill the words, they screw you over. So I’m done with that. I don’t even care if he is a God in bed, or if he has a foot-long in his pants. No more I love you's.

By this point in the book, I was already done.

But then she saw Adam and the dance started. You know the one. The I-hate-you-but-my-body-wants-you. Classic body-betrayal syndrome. Sure she has a good heart on her and is scared of commitment but that doesn't change the fact that I wanted to strangle her. And while reading other reviews, I found out about this little tidbit:

Just not sure it's for me. And when in doubt, I tend to leave.

The story is full of over the top humor, which I enjoyed. It’s funny, sweet and sexy. I laughed out loud so many times and I fell in love with Adam and Lucy.

Lucy is a very likeable heroine that pretty much says whatever she's thinking at the moment. Adam is protective, romantic, sweet and all kinds of wonderful. They are extremely compatible in many aspects and soon they find out they may really like each other and things get more serious.

Two people you know are going to fall in love but the story takes its time in the telling. Adam and Lucy certainly make flirting the most awesome and funniest thing in the world! Together, the two are like a dynamite! The author certainly has a way with making a story entertaining and intertwined with just the right amount of humor.

But the plot itself isn’t the best. It’s sweet and simple, but that’s it. The characters are entertaining but I couldn’t feel the connection to them. There is humor, passion and anger, heartbreak and falling in love. The romance is sweet but a little angsty. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves humorous romance novels.

I'm going to unbreak your heart, Lucy.”

This story is a case of a terrible first impression. Lucy Meyer, having just broken up with her boyfriend and being left practically homeless, moves in with her best friend and her best friend’s husband, Olive and Jason Thorne. Right next door, Hollywood celebrity and recently divorced father of one Adam Connor moves in with his son, Aiden.

Curious about the man next door, Olive and Lucy climb up a ladder to get a peak at their next door neighbor. Soon enough, the spying/ ladder-climbing became a habit for Lucy, especially when Olive and Jason had to leave town for a work commitment, leaving Lucy alone. There was just something fascinating (and hot) about watching a hot man play with his son.

After stalking/spying on the man next door, the two meet after an unfortunate incident involving Adam's son, Aiden. Instead of receiving a thank you for saving Aiden, Lucy ends up getting handcuffed. No, it wasn't kinky. And yes, Lucy hated it.

From then on, Lucy swore she will hate this man, no matter how hot he is and no matter how adorable his son is. She'd sleep with him—she wasn't blind, and she definitely noticed that Adam was "hung"—but her heart is officially off-limits.

I'm never saying I love you to any other guy again. Mark my words. The moment you spill the words, they screw you over. So I'm done with that. I don't even care if he is a god in bed or if he has a foot-long in his pants. No more I love yous."

Adam Connor is a package—and not just because of the package inside his pants *wink wink*. He’s handsome, talented, and an amazing father to Aiden. I would’ve done what he did to Lucy if I were in their position. His main priority is his son, and his career and everything else.

And Aiden! Dear Aiden. He is a sweet, adorable child who loves Lucy and Olive, and looks up to his dad. I always go "aww" every time he's in a scene.

Bah. There’s something about men and children that makes a woman melt. Forget hot sex and multiple orgasms (okay, don’t forget it haha); a hot single dad with his kid is the ultimate wet dream.

Lucy is such a firecracker! She’s feisty, and she won’t whimper in moments of distress. She can readily defend herself if she needs to. Her past has led her to be independent, and, thus, she’s reluctant to accept help from anyone, even from Olive and Jason.

Lucy and Olive must be the two luckiest women in Hollywood. Olive marries her childhood friend and Hollywood hunk Jason Thorne, and Lucy ends up with their next door neighbor, Hollywood DILF Adam Connor.

I enjoyed the story very much, especially Lucy and Adam’s banter. Hate to love relationship? Swoon!

I only have one complaint. For me, one of the subplots lacked establishment. Adam mentioned his sister Vicky and parents every once in a while, but the revelation near the end felt like it came out of nowhere. By that time, we’re 90% into the book… It felt like that certain conflict was put aside, forgotten, and when it was time to close the story, it was shoved back in.

Other than that, this book was quite an enjoyable read.

Nothing just Adam Connor raising standards.
This book was so fine and beautiful. One of the best enemies to lovers I've read in recent times.

Lucy thinking she's cursed in the love department and Adam proving otherwise was everything. 😩

Lucy is a fierce one.
She's the bestest best friend to Olive and moved to her and Jason's home.

Adam Connor, a Hollywood heartthrob plus single dad also moves there with his cutest son, Aiden.
Both have a beautiful relationship.

“Daddy?”
“Shhh,” I murmured, combing his hair back with my fingers.
His eyes barely open, he asked, “You won’t die yet, will you?”
The effects of Lion King…
“I won’t, little man. It’s time to go to sleep now.”

“Love you, Lucy,” Aiden murmured, his eyes already closed.
“I love you, too, little human,” I murmured back and brushed a light kiss on
his cheek.

Aiden was so adorable. I can't- plus his relationship with Lucy was so beautiful as well.

________
Adam's and Lucy's banters were funny, and cute.

“I’m going to un-break your heart, Lucy,” he promised in a low voice.

Okay, Adam, you made your point you're a a swoony romantic and the perfect Hollywood heartthrob.😩💜

Also, sneak peeks into Jason and Olive's life was one of the best things in this book. After finishing to love Jason Thorn I wanted to read more of them and Ella made my wish come true.

The ending is perfect, adorable and precious. Lucy and her two boys are so close to my heart.

One of the perfect hate-love stories.💜

I don't think I ever gave one star to a book I've wholly read, usually, I just drop it and move to another one. But this time I kept waiting for something interesting to come up because I didn't want to be a quitter again. So, here it is.

I am in dilemma giving this book rating.

Lets start with what I do not like:
1. Lucy. She is very very difficult to understand. I do not think I understand her character until the end. She is selfish, wild, confusing, head strong and childish. Due to her character, I feel reading this book with one my eye shut.
2. The pace and the plot. The push and pull is confusing. I do not understand why Lucy hold her grudges/ hate against Adam for that long. I just do not get it. Maybe deeper motive is needed here.

What I like:
1. Aiden. He deserves his own book when he grows up. I can not wait to see how he grows.
2. Dan the Bodyguard. I wish he has his own love interest. He is so soft cuddling teddy bear.

Despite I do not like Lucy, I managed to finish this book.

3 stars

🔥 2/5

I AM IN LOVE WITH HIM. I LOVE IT!

YES.

description

He may be a lot of things - a father, an ex-husband, an Academy Award wining actor, but Adam Connor isn't someone who'll just give up when shit gets real. He's a loyal, persistent and "exquisite male specimen" as our female protagonist Lucy would say. The chemistry between them was da bomb, my friends. That sexual tension was palpable. Even though Lucy thinks the women from her family are cursed when it comes to their love life & keeps pushing Adam away, he's always there to catch her when she falls. I really respect that & that was one of the factors why I loved this book so much. Aiden is also the star of this book and such a wonderful addition to the story. There's a bit of drama involved, but you can trust Adam to do the best thing in these kinds of situations. I found his relationship with his ex-wife very realistic and raw. But there are also many beautiful heart-melting scenes and that one final plot twist which will just put things into a different and more logical perspective. My deepest and loveliest recommendation!

O tal vez solo a él.

Casi me muero, felicidad extrema.

Y esa referencia a Grey´s Anatomy me fascinó.

“-Sabes que estoy contigo, eres mi persona, ¿verdad?
- ¿Grey´s Anatomy?

Adam is a hot movie star who lives next to another hot movie star, Jason from the first book in this series.
Lucy is the bff of the new wife of Jason. She's down on her luck and has no loving family so she ends up staying with Jason and whats-her-face. From there she can ogle Adam as he works out... until she gets caught... saving his son's life and he tosses her in jail. (which he never really apologises for btw!)
Anyhow, now they hate each other... until he doesn't hate her.
I was mostly enjoying it to this point, yet still skimming a fair bit.

Then the conversations that had used to be witty, got repetitive and redundant and I started to skim A LOT.
I hate him, I'm cursed, Let me change your mind with my big dick, I hate him, I'm cursed, big dick... etc.

Then, just as it starts to get interesting it jumps the shark a couple times.

It went from a typical mildly entertaining contemporary romance to more of a harlequin style OTT ending.

For me, the most interesting parts of the story were the media blurbs at the beginning of each chapter.
I guess this author just isn't my cup of tea. Oh well.

safety is pretty good

★★★4.5 You're everything to me Stars ★★★★

Get ready ladies ! There’s a new hottie that just hit town! Seriously no kidding if you ever had a thing for Jason Throne from book 1 and thought no other could ever reach his level of swoon-worthiness. Think again daring! Connor with his green eyes and sexy smile(Among other things ).Just might tempt you to the dark side ;) Or in this case tempt you to climb over his boundary wall..

I’ve been reading novels for quite some time now..Mystery,Romance,Erotica,Supernatural..there's almost no genre I Haven't sampled so far.Its a rare occasion for me to come across a plot-line I've never read before. So No,this book didn't really have anything new to offer plot-wise.But nevertheless Adam and Lucy's story was a thoroughly enjoyable one, solely based on how awesome each character was and how effortlessly the story flowed and shifted P.O.Vs.

“I’m rooting for you,” I whispered. “I never wished for a prince to save me, because I can save myself, thank you very much…but I’m “wishing for it now, Adam Connor. I hope—and I can hope really really hard—that your kiss will break the curse. I hope it’s you, Adam. I hope you’re the hero of my story, because I deserve to be loved, goddammit. I deserve to have someone dance with me to no music.”

Our two leads shared an amazing chemistry.Their back story was well-constructed,their dialogues witty and the characters themselves were both amazing as individuals, which earned a huge plus point for me.It wasn't hard to root for their HEA at all ! In fact it was just almost too easy to see how well these two just fit together,as if they were really just waiting for kismet to do its job.

“There was something about her that was solid. Real. For all her crazy, she was also normal, and I envied her for that freedom."

And Adam's little boy ! Aiden ! He honestly deserves a paragraph of his own ! I loved watching Aiden and Lucy's relationship build. But I adored his relationship with his father more ! His love for his son was just touching and a beautiful thing.Damn if it didn't make me love our hero more. <3

Is this book a standalone ?
Basically yes.But I would recommend Reading Book 1 before you get down to this. The time-line follows the end of book 1 and I personally feel reading To love Jason Thron gives you a better understanding of the characters. But not reading it won't effect this read either.
So really it's your choice.*shrug*

Would I recommend it ?
Defiantly ! It has a lot of things going for it ! Entertaining and fluffy it would probably make a perfect Rom-come.To sum it up in a sentence,A perfect light read.

If your still on the fence about picking this series up, you can always check out my Review for book 1 here :) => https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Happy Reading !
