Black Veil University #5

Knight Unchained

Rate this book
I finally have the life I’ve always dreamed of.

Growing up in Stone Brook with my aunt and uncles, I wanted nothing more than to find my place in this world. I longed to discover more about my missing past and make sense of my wild magic. Little did I know those answers would come with so many more questions.

My nightmares are now a reality as the forces against my men, and I tear us apart. Heaven and Hell are colliding, the shadows are circling, and the enemy is closing in. But I’m no stranger to the dark.

Thankfully, I’m not alone this time. I will do everything in my power to keep those I love safe, and God help anyone who tries to take them from me.

Knight Unchained is the final book in the Black Veil University and has a HEA. This is a university-aged, Paranormal RH romance which means there will be no choosing between love interests at the end of the story.

This series has darker elements that readers should be aware of such as, strong language, PTSD from kidnapping, assault, and violence.

This is a series I’ve loved and been very invested in. This is the final book in Danica’s story and it did not disappoint. I laughed, I cried, there was some spice, and overall it ended like a warm hug. Book 4 ended on a cliffhanger so book 5 had a lot of loose ends to tie up and B M Clemton did that while still including plenty of twists and turns. I liked the pace of this book and the depth of the world she created. She’s announced there will be new series set in the same black veil world and I can’t wait!

5 Superb Stars

I absolutely adored this series! The world building was great. The character development was absolutely perfect! Each character was well rounded with a backstory and a defined, unique, personality. The relationship development was individual for each member of the harem and it was done at a believable pace. The plot was enthralling and unique. I loved this series.

The Men
❣️ Daxton is a shy and awkward nerd. He's smaller than the rest of the guys and uncomfortable in social situation. He's a telekinetic who can read minds and teleport. Datxon is a very sweet mate.

❣️ Zane is an overprotective Alpha dragon shifter. He's the "mama bear" of the group. He loves to cook for his family and bakes when he's worried. He tends to shove food and water at people when they're upset or injured. He doesn't like for Danica to be out of his sight ever, he's very possessive and protective.

❣️ Roaran is the jokester of the group. He's always pulling pranks and using humor to relax people. He has a rough past (like all the guys) and has a tendency to become depressed. Before meeting Danica he was a playboy. Roar is a gargoyle shifter and he's very clingy.

❣️ Remmington is/was Danica's best friend growing up. He's an Alpha wolf shifter and has been secretly in love with Dani since she showed up in his pack as a child. He's extremely possessive and protective of Dani. He knows everything about FMC and is her rock, her foundation.

❣️ Gabriel Covington is damaged. He is untrusting and bossy. He's overprotective of his family and seemingly hates Danica. He goes out of his way to make sure Dani knows she's unwelcome. He's the head of his family and very powerful in every sense. Gabe is a Reaper and a Shadow Walker.

❣️ Dominic Carter is a powerful half angel. He has a strong personality and clashes with Gabe often. He was raised to believe emotions are a weakness. He was also raised in Vatican City with the other angels, so he doesn't understand modern speech or sarcasm or jokes or idioms.

This book was harder to get into...
I wish it ended differently.
It would have been awesome.for them to have extended their family at the end.
And I wasn't happy with what happened with atlas.
Everything else, I guess was ok.
I hate diana... I wish she would have.kicked it.
I'm glad.everyone is.together though. So there's that.

Sadly this whole series was a bit anticlimactic for me.

The plot is just boring, I know what the author was trying to achieve I think, but frankly the execution was not it.
I was bored af and considering the plot and what is happening, it’s weird.
I think something is lacking, I cannot put my finger on it but the series, characters etc are so freaking bland and boring.
I tried my damnest to like it, and at the end it’s probably a “me” problem because I read much worse series than this one…

I had my hopes up and the delivery was disappointing.

4 stars for an enjoyable series (if you can make it past book 2)

If I had to describe this book, I'd say it was mostly focused on wrapping up the Dante storyline and setting up future series within the black veil university world. In particular Kayla and Alice's story... I however, am mostly intrigued with Ryland and Fina's future if I'm honest. Kayla's story may be too antagonistic for me with the wolf twin that hates her and the whole Porter situation.

I was a little frustrated with the lack of closure. We don't get any sort of ... well anything from the Angels, and the Demons basically just go back to Hell (for now). I don't even feel like it's a spoiler to tell you they kill Uriel because his insertion into the story came out of nowhere with no explanation and ended right after. I mean, what was the point. I wish there had been a little more from Raphael or even a little more reasoning as to why the Angels saved the Ractori if they consider them so far beneath their notice, and no, I'm not buying the whole "balance" thing, because if they removed them from the earth, didn't that also affect the balance? As you can see, there were a lot of plot lines that were not tied up.

Despite these things, I enjoyed the book and the series and am excited for them to become audiobooks so I can enjoy them in a different way next time. (The first one is already out)

Very enjoyable ending to a great series. Dani and all her men are finally a strong, cohesive unit. Even though all her mates want nothing more than to keep her safe, they respect her autonomy and support her decisions to fight. There were 3 complicated, multi-chapter fight scenes throughout. They were necessary to the resolution of the story, but it was a little too much action for my personal taste. My favorite parts of any story are always when things are calm, and we see the characters in sweet, domestic situations. Dani's story may be finished, but Clemton left a few situations open. I can't wait to read more from this world.

I didn’t want it to end. I have been very invested with Danica and her guys at BVU. B.M. did a phenomenal job with this book. You will laugh, gasp, cry, all the emotions will run ramped with this book. So much closer, twist, leaving you on the edge of your seat. This will definitely be a reread series. Im left in a book hangover AGAIN and I can’t wait to see the next book in the same world!

Loved how all the characters just mess and their bonds keeping them together.

I'd rate the whole series at about a 3 star. This specific book would probably be a 2.5 star. Mainly, the problem I have with this book series was that it was just kinda bland. This book specifically was very anticlimactic and just boring it took me days to finish when usually I'd finish a book this size in at the most a day and a half while this specifically took about 3 days because I just got bored... still, it was an OK read altogether.

Very slow, still feels unresolved

Idk I enjoyed the series, but I felt like this book didn’t give us enough of a conclusion on things. We also didn’t jump to the future with babies so we didn’t get to see “Daddy Zane” lol cause we all know he’d be awesome. Overall I did like the book but I struggled through it having read this series back to back. It was a lot of sex and not much plot moving forward. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy the relationships but in the epilogue we don’t get to see Gabe’s and Dani’s first date, why? Things like that happened off page and that always bugs me.

Still I liked the series.

Lucky enough to get an ARC copy, the perfect end to the perfect series wraps up all the storyline while also setting the foundation for the side characters stories. Dani finally get her happy ending and we get to see more protective Gabe instead of asshole Gabe as well as exploring more of Doms character. Great book, great series, definitely recommend and can’t wait for the novella so we cans see daddy zane.

What a wonderful conclusion to this series! I feel like this book really paid off on the build up of the past 4 and I devoured this thing in a day.

Danica turned out to be a really likeable FMC and I found that all her men were very well developed characters that had distinct personalities and brought something unique to them to the story.

After finished this series I will absolutely be adding it to the list of book I recommend to people!

RH/Fae-Shifter-Angel-Demon/College

SYNOPSIS (5 Book Series): The FC was orphaned at age 8 and left with her aunt and uncles to be raised having gone through a series trauma and having no memory of her first 8 years. She goes to Black Veil University and becomes mated to 6Ms. The story centres around Dante, the father of one of her mates and how he has been kidnapping and experimenting on fae children to turn them into super soldiers. She also meets her BFF. The story arc is around the development of the FCs bonds, her regaining her memories and the group trying to stop Dante from continuing his nefarious plan! There are interactions with Demons and Angels as well as other supernaturals. Book 5 culminates in the big showdown and HEA.

On the whole this series was enjoyable but it went on for too long. It felt like the story was in a holding pattern of Dante being and doing bad things, lots of sex but the story not actually moving forward or evolving until the end of Book 5. The story is not particularly unique with the FC being orphaned, then finding out she is more than anyone thought she was, meeting the requisite spunky BFF on day 1, a bit of bullying by the main MC and a traumatic backstory for the FC and the MCs.

Whilst not unique the story was still readable but, as mentioned, it dragged and could have done with being condensed into maybe a trilogy. It was frustrating that Dante kept attacking, kidnapping children and doing bad things with apparently no repercussions and no stopping. The author glossed over how this was possible by saying that he controlled everyone. That still makes it very hard to believe that he could have got away with apparently everything he did such as mass demon attacks and kidnapping children whilst killing their families with noone investigating or asking questions. Unlike other series there also seemed to be no "wins" for the good guys. They were just permanently on the back foot reacting and not actively fighting Dante despite everything.

There were alot of sex scenes which I found to be not particularly sexy or hot and which were shoehorned in where possible and at what I felt were some particularly inopportune moments. The author seemed to feel that the characters would all be up for group sex after every battle where people were killed or maimed etc. Pretty sure that is going to be the last thing on your mind when your mates are injured.... In addition, considering how small the FC was supposed to be and how often she indulged in group sex I am not convinced she would be able to walk. Further, the FC seems to be another one of those virgins who apparently after sex once then is happy to hop into bed with multiple partners as often as possible. A bit OTT for me especially with 6 mates. For me 3 is optimal an 4 OK but anything more is ridiculous.

The MCs were likeable on the whole but I felt that due to the number (6) there was a distinct lack of development of each bond and individual relationship. Outside of the sex it seemed that the only reason that the FC and the MCs were together was because of their bond and not really through free will. I did not get the sense of any real individual relationship development except with possible Gabe and Remi. The characters themselves also felt underdeveloped in some instances (such as Roar the Gargoyle) and caricatures is some cases such as Zane and his dragon behaviour. The author could easily have dropped some of the MCs and the story would have been tighter.

Finally, after dragging the story out over 5 Books, I felt the climax was rushed and a let down. Due to various lame excuses the MCs had not been able to apparently take down or find Dante for years but then, all of a sudden, all the hinderances just vanish, they over hear someone talking of where Dante is and voila, there's a big showdown and everything is wound up neatly in a couple of chapters. It was disappointing to say the least. The whole ending felt rushed after an interminable lead up.

In summary, readable but I would not pay for the series, fortunately I got it on KU and I was skimming some sections by Book 3, especially the sex scenes.

I can't believe book 5, the final story for this awesome harem has come to a close. I have been with B.M. Clemton since the beginning of the launch of book 1. I love paranormal, fated mates, RH, and academia and this checked all the boxes and then some. The creation of all of these characters is individually well thought out and each is unique in their own way, so it keeps you on your toes throughout the series.

Knight Unchained came with the spice, let's just say Danica is very well worshiped throughout the series and especially in this book by all six of her men. While the villains, yes villains, not just one are trying to tilt the balance proving to be a problem for the angels. The fight that this harem brings to the forefront is nonstop suspense that keeps you enthralled with all the magical powers they possess.

I can't say you won't fall in love with at least one out of the six men in Danica's life, but I definitely think you will fall for more than one of them because there is just no way you cant. Little petite Danica is strong, fierce, and a companion like no other throughout this book fighting for their love and freedom from the villains that seek to bring them down.

Please check the trigger warnings for the series. If you like dark romance, possessive obsessive men, power-hungry villains, revere harem, paranormal, multiple POVs, and lots of spice then run don't walk to start reading this book. I can't wait for the future of B.M. Clemton's books as she works on more to bring to us and hopefully some more in the Black Veil University lineup with crossovers.

Incredible Conclusion to Danica + Her Guys ❤️

This BOOK! It was everything I wanted in book 5, and I am so glad that BM went beyond my expectations!

We pick up book 5 after book 4s horrible cliffhanger, and it was a bit hectic- in the best way. We had a lot of questions from the previous books, what happened with Danica’s mom? Why are the demons helping Dante? What in the world is going on with the Angels?! What happened with Danica & Remi? Is everyone else okay?! How are they gonna find a HEA?

We’ll I won’t say when or how, but certain people get EXACTLY what they deserve, by the right people! We also learned answers to the most important questions, not all at once, but we get them answered.

We also get some more character growth, and I loved the insight we saw into all of their POVs when things were going on. The guys we’re still being protective which I LOVED seeing, and seeing Danica be just as protective as them. There were some breadcrumbs for the future books of the BVU world, for Kayla, Alice & Fina books.

If you were waiting for more fun 😉 & group scenes?! BM has DELIVERED 🥰🥵🌶️! Especially between our favorite alphas & a certain gargoyle 😱🤯

I’m so excited to see what happens in the novella especially after the epilogue 🥰.

Multi POV
PNR / Shifters / Magic
FMC - Danica has grown SO much since book 1
MMCs - 6 in total, Wolf Shifter, Dragon Shifter, Gargoyle, Angel, Reaper & Telekinesis Fae
🌶🌶🌶🌶
Plot: 5/5 - it was 100% amazing to read, we got the answers we wanted, the fun scenes 😉, character growth!
Now Completed Series!

I have absolutely ADORED this series. I have reread the first four books probably 5 times each and even though i was so excited for this final book I was really stressed about saying goodbye (until the next reread) to these characters. My only critique is that it had to end.

Before I rave more on the whole series, here is my two-cents about this book itself. It was great. I felt like I got the closure I needed. I would have happily read 300 more pages, or like 5 more books if I am being honest, of them just living life. Knowing from the ending that this is going to be a whole world it helps with the "unanswered questions" situation. The characters you have questions about will apparently be getting there own series (GOD BLESS!!!) so everything felt wrapped up. I wish we could have got another chapter from Zane and Dom, I felt like they were just slightly absent this book and would have loved to see more of them.

This world of Black Veil is phenomenal, truly. In my top three favorite series of all time. I feel weird getting emotional about characters but damn I really and truly felt so connected to their lives and Clemton created such vivid personalities that I am just attached at this point. I will be a forever fan of this series and author just pretty pretty please give us a novella with a baby. I am not above begging.

Listen. Read this series. Your heart, ovaries, brain, and lady boner will thank you.

This was the perfect ending to what is an incredible series.

Knight Unchained is jam packed with excitement, questions being answered, laugh out loud moments and of course those spicy scenes!

I loved the character development from the guys throughout this series but this book showed Gabe in a whole new light. The dynamics between Dani and the guys individually, as a group and between the guys themselves was beautifully done.

We pick up from where we left off in Knight Awakened, I won't go into anything specific so as not to spoil it for anyone but let's just say there was so much going on in this book I wasn't sure what the outcome would be for so long but I can say Dani gets her HEA. We even have more coming from this world for some of the side characters which I am so excited for, I can't wait for Kayla's story specifically.

There were moments where I was laughing out loud and then in the next chapter my heart was breaking, well done BM Clemton, this book is one hell of a ride with an ending I both loved and didn't want to happen.

Its sad to say goodbye to Dani, Gabe, Zane, Roar, Remi, Dax and Dom but I can't wait for what's to come next on the Black Veil world and at least I know they will make some appearances in those.

Overall, I really loved this series and can see it being one I will go back to again.

Oh. My. God.

I was an ARC reader for book five and seeing this book pop into my email today was like Christmas in February!

This fifth and final book in BM Clemton’s Black Veil University series WRECKED me. We ended book 4 with a BIT of a cliffhanger, so coming into book 5 my big questions were- what the heck is happening with the angels, what happened to Danica’s mom, is Danica going to be okay, why are the demons helping Dante, what is Dante’s agenda/ why in general Dante, and what in the world happening with our favorite vampire, Kayla???

Knight Unchained did a great job of answering most of my questions, but there were still a lot of unknowns. THANKFULLY, the author note at the end does say she plans to have stories for Kayla, Alice, and Fina, so I’m looking forward to spending more time in the magical world BM Clemton has created for us.

The spice in book 5 was *chefs kiss.* Definitely the spiciest book so far, and the groupings were 10/10. My dreams honestly didn’t even consider some of the scenes BM Clemton created, so THANK. YOU.

I loved every second of this, and am sad to see the series ended. *Fingers crossed* that our fave author decides there should actually be a book 6? 😉

Reviewing the series as a whole.
I have really enjoyed the series, and the characters are defintely some of my favourites. The author is really detailed and well thought in creating the characters in this series. Even some of the side characters (family, friends etc) have well developed and memorable characters. The world created is enticing, and easy to imagine and get lost in.
I did struggle with some of the repetition, and I think that can be an issue with some RH in that the author describes situations again from a different perspective and I personally don't like that. I think there is so much else that can be added in, that the multiple POV repeated of the same moment isn't necessary and I end up skimming bits. I think there are some things I wanted included, instead of the repetition, and they were just summarised e.g. Christmas, Gabe's special moment at the end of this book (sorry don't want spoilers!). Also there is a lot of inner thoughts/monologues from characters and especially when it is during action scenes I end up skimming.
But overall, I honestly really loved the authors work and look forward to reading the other characters stories as they unfold! Especially Atlas!

THIS BOOK SHOULD COME WITH A WARNING !!!!!!!!!

⚠️You are about to get thrown into a massive emotional roller coaster, please hold tight ⚠️

I was NOT mentally prepared for the emotional roller coaster that this book put me through

Honestly, I should've had known because the first 20% was INTENSE. I loved the story, loved how it ended but I'm so sad it's over.

I'm so happy Gabe finally got his head out of his ass. He was really getting in my Nerves. That is probably the one thing that I really really l hated about the series.

If you are planning on reading this, do it but only do it if you are ready to be at the edge of your seat for the entirety of the book and if you are ready to be completely absorbed by the story

The author did mention how there are going to be more books of the same universe (kinda like spin-offs??) I don't know if I will read them. This is something just too personal I don't tend to like them because I feel like the book does not have its own identity. Basically it's a wannabe and it's just boring to me. Who knows, maybe I will try to read them.

I'm going to miss Roran and Dominic :(

I can't believe it's over!! I've been looking forward to this, getting answers to all the questions, and finally seeing certain people get what they deserve (and BOY did they!), but I'm also SO SAD to say goodbye to Dani and her men. I'm already having serious withdrawals from Remington and Gabe. Oh. My. God. Gabe. He's just... *chef's kiss*.. so perfect, and gorgeous, and powerful, and AHHHHH. MINE! HE'S MINE!

This book is filled with intrigue, suspense, humor, and tons of perfectly steamy scenes with insanely sexy men. Oh, and let's not forget about those couple of times where my heart darn near SHATTERED. I won't give anything away, but I will say that I had tears in my eyes (with a snotty nose, and a red, blotchy face.. super attractive) a couple times.

Basically, this book is EVERYTHING I was hoping for in a conclusion to this series. B.M. Clemton absolutely nailed it with this, her first series, and I CANNOT wait to see what else she has in store for us in the future.

Standing ovation to you, B.M. Clemton!!

BM Clemton is officially on my one-click author list Don't care what the book is about, if the Black Veil University series is anything to go by, I know I will like it. I'm also flabbergasted that this is the first series by this author. It seems this author has completely skipped over the awkward foot-finding phase of her writing career and I'm absolutely here for it.

Book 5 nicely wraps up Dani's story, while remaining exciting and action packed. I've also got to give props to the author for creating such a large harem, yet making each member feel equal and important. So many other large harem stories leave me feeling like one or two members could have been left out with little to no impact on the story overall. With Black Veil, there isn't a single one of the guys I would have left out. I liked them all for their own reasons (even Gabe!)

Bravo to a great ending and I'm hella stoked for the future spin-off stories in this universe!!!

Worth the wait!!

What a perfect ending! I can’t get over how much I absolutely love this series!! With having read book 4 back in October not realizing that the series wasn’t finished I can tell you the wait for book 5 was absolutely worth it! The story line was perfect and gosh how I missed these characters! Each of their personalities are amazing and so different from each other. But they complement each other just as much! I love their relationships with each other within their family. How Remi had Zane and Roar. And Gab with Dom both being very alpha males. And Dax, gosh how can you not love that green eyed man! Though I do adore Zane’s and Remi’s friendship! And of course the smut scenes in this book is to die for…the last one..WOW!!! The author did an amazing job wrapping up Dani’s and her men’s story. With a perfect bow tie and leaving it open for other side characters stories. Which I’m so excited to read the next series that will be in the Black Veil universe. I hope we get glimpses of Dani’s family in the next series.

Wow

What an ending to a series! I loved the series! I loved how the multiple povs showed how everyone’s thoughts and emotions played out in their reactions so everything that was going on. I couldn’t get enough of the book, read it in less than 24 hours including my normal work day everyday tasks being taken into account. To be honest, I’m not a fan of Kayla the bestie to the fmc. She had secrets throughout the book, that could have hurt the whole group. The fmc accepts the knowledge she was hiding things from her and let’s her keep her secrets. It didn’t jive with the whole, the world is in danger and everyone is out to get the main characters. Honesty seems to be a big thing for the fmc, and had even stopped talking to the guys for several weeks when they hid things from her so it just didn’t connect well with how often they called each other besties. Gabriel allowed it too… I think that’s the only thing I hated about the series. Otherwise great ending!

Okay look. I liked the premise of the story but it didn't quite deliver. It moved way too slow to where I was skipping a lot of chapters throughout the series. Dani grew slow into her character too. She honestly didn't that much. The guys had annoying qualities like Zane way ott protective from beginning to end. I expect it a bit but man he was too much! We all knew what was going to happen but it took forever to get there. I was bored. The series was stagnant for me and I really think this easily could have been 3 books maybe 4 max. Definitely not 5 that's too much. I think this is a new author and tbh it's not bad but definitely room for growth. I only stuck through it because of KU and I did care about the characters. Just maybe move the story a bit faster. There were also a lot of different plots involved. Am I interested enough to read more about the next characters? No, probably not.

Happy tears!!

Wow this book left me speechless and in tears (happy tears of course). I did not expect to fall in love with this series as much as I did. I honestly can’t name one bad thing about this series and about Danika & her men. Their story was so beautifully written and I loved the spice level as well 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. I absolutely loved the found family trope, and I loved how Danika and Gabe got their revenge on the people who hurt them most. The most interesting part about the series was the magical aspect of Ractori magic and the use of combining different magics even though they were through experimentation. Dani’s magic with her bonds to the guys was so facinating, and I really enjoyed learning more about how their bonds worked and how they supported each other. Im excited to read the next book and I’m so excited for Fina’s story! I hope her healing journey is warm and filled with love!!

ARC Review

This was the PERFECT conclusion to Danica’s story even though I’m so sad that it’s come to and end.

We left off in book 4 with a building blowing up and Danica being taken and not knowing if any of her guys survived or were injured.

Book 5 starts a little differently than what I was expecting but I am not mad at it, if anything it helped get more of a background on Danica’s mom and what she was experiencing and going through.

There is so much action going on in this book with the gang trying to defeat not only Dante but the demons that he has been dealing with as well. At one point it seems like all hope is lost for the bunch but surprise PLOT TWIST. I literally gasped at some of them.

I loved Danica’s story and it definitely is worth picking up and reading!
