Check out this I kid you not super awesome book, I promise you won't regret it: The Unwanted Wife Review Anyways, what's funny was that I had actually read the second installment before this one. See my review below: Nothing But This Review It was much better than this one ... the grovelling was EPIC.
The reason I couldn't really gush over this one was due to the heroine, Tina ... I found her extremely difficult to like. Yes, I got that she was insecure about her plump body all throughout her life, was an introvert (she found it very hard to talk to people), clumsy and had not been successful in her work ... but there were several things that she did that I did not really like ... as a person. The hero, Harris, on the other hand, I love him so much. Can he be a real person? He's drop dead gorgeous, funny, easy going, rich, tall, kind and really liked Tina genuinely.
So Tina and Harris slept together when they were in high school. (view spoiler)[That one time resulted in her being pregnant. But before finding out that the whole thing was merely a stupid bet that Harris' friends' concocted to amuse themselves. Fast forward to ten years later, Tina was still reeling from the hurt of that incident plus she'd lost her baby. It was born for a mere two months before he passed away. Unable to move on, she lived through this nightmare more often than her actual life. (hide spoiler)] Harris, of course, was oblivious to this as he was never told. Tina never told him. Heck, she avoided him like a plague ever since their one night stand. So now that they were brought together by Harris' twin brother incident ... being in the same town with Tina and all, they couldn't avoid not seeing each other, and uncovering all their suppressed feelings for each other all these time.
It was a bit too long for my liking, but overall a very nice read....more

If you're looking for some epic grovels, her books are the way!!! The best, of course, was The Unwanted Wife my link text but this one was close. It was poignant, gut wrenching and just angsty. While I feel that the hero did major catastrophic blunders, he made it up with some epic grovel ... a very long one.
Olivia had always been in love with Greyson, distant, quiet, reserved Greyson. While Olivia could talk her charm to everyone and very amiable, Greyson was cool and always had a hard time sharing anything to anyone, not even to his twin brother. He's very closed off and uptight. Even though they grew up together and saw each other frequently, they never had a chance to form a relationship (albeit a sexual one at first) after they became adults. Soon after, they got hitched. But things didn't turn out well as although Olivia found herself pregnant - Greyson was adamant he was sterile. So whose baby was it? Granted Olivia was a virgin when they first had sex. So Greyson did the unthinkable, he wouldn't talk to her, he detached himself completely from her - went as much as moving to a different room, never once attending her doctor's appointment and finally ... didn't attend the birth of his child, and informing Olivia about his suspicion on the day she gave birth.
I didn't how he could redeem himself after that. But that's what the 300-over-pages were for (a bit too long, I personally think). All in all, this was a very nice read. ...more

It’I was craving for some pregnant by accident kind of story so this one fitted the bill nicely. The fact that this was not a long story was perfect. It’s a sweet, feel-good- all-around type of romance. I gulped it down in one go. It was very pleasant, with a subtle anti climax that one could enjoy over a cup of coffee.
Megan [image] Not only was she beautiful but one with brains, too. So sexy on a woman. Initially, I felt she was a bit detached, unfeeling. However, that feeling was diminished soon after. After getting hurt by the man she thought she was starting to fall in love with, she flew back to her home town. Weeks later, she found out she was pregnant. Hurt and angry, she decided to keep the baby all to herself.
Jasper [image] Chase was literally like a hotness on a silver platter; a Greek God. A famous football player who got swooned by a beautiful blond girl. After a 3 – day whirlwind romance, he decided that he had fallen in love with her. But things got out of hand when his ex came back into the picture telling him she was pregnant.
Fast forward four years later, the couple met accidentally at a hotel. Unbeknownst to Jasper, he had a little son. Could he forgive Megan for taking away the first years of the chance to know his son?

Too short! That was my first comment. This was a delicious book on an estranged married couple (of 6 months). Misconceptions that hazed their marriage Too short! That was my first comment. This was a delicious book on an estranged married couple (of 6 months). Misconceptions that hazed their marriage from the onset; the heroine believing the hero married her as a trophy wife - just to put up front after being dumped by his 'true love'. Heroine was utterly hurt after being accused of having an affair when she informed him she was pregnant. The hero had had a vasectomy hence his allegations. What was worse was that while they were having that argument, the heroine tripped and fell on the stairs, killing her unborn baby. That was pretty much the premise.
Loved the heroine; she did put up a brave front, dismissing the hero at every turn. I loved reading the hero's pov as well, knowing he was regretting the state of their marriage and was trying to reach out to his wife. He's not the regular jerk heroes nor alpha male harlequin heroes used to have. I mean, he's not a bulldozer. ...more

It was super annoying. The hero was supposed to be much older than the heroine but he's acting like a hot tempered alpha male ... aka childish. Even when he found out about the truth of his misconception 2 years ago, he got drunk (first! As if that's the most important course of action) and yet did not apologize. In fact, the heroine was the one who apologized for saying something that was supposed to be 'off limits'. COME ON! A bit of a disappointment for me. ...more

I absolutely loved the plot and the story. The characters, or rather the character ie the hero ... are questionable. I did not appreciate the fact that (view spoiler)[ the hero went to the OW's apartment - albeit drunk, slept on her bed even if they had no sex - because he was frustrated with his own wife (who was combating her miscarriage!). (hide spoiler)] He deserted her in her time of need. That was inexcusable!!! I felt so angry that he could dismiss this so easily. There was no major groveling on this part and for that, I docked major stars.
There's no denying the sexual tension between the couple. They would combust within minutes of being in the same room with each other. Despite being separated for 3 years with bitter enmity. The hero, Vito with his carefully formed cynicism came to London to fetch his estranged wife, Catherine, with her proud and hostile demeanor. This was a second change romance between a couple who separated due to some misunderstandings (orchestrated by the OW) and only came together for the sake of their young son who was unfortunately caught in between their hostility.
But all in all, a decent story which I finished albeit my wanting to see more groveling from the hero. ...more

However, the hero was downright a bully, he was an a**hole-alpha male who kept pressing and cornering the heroine. It happened throughout the story, so my 'annoyance' was carried out the whole I was reading this book. There's also the OW, whom the hero had planned on marrying once he divorced his wife. I would feel betrayed and cheated on (albeit the fact that they did not have sex). It was just the same.
The heroine - unfortunately - was a hot-headed female, she got angry very easily. She'd leave the room, rather than tried to explain her heartache. However, I think she did so because of the many, many disappointments she endured during her brief marriage with the hero; how he dismissed her concerns, ignoring her for favor of his work, and even worse, becoming outraged when she told him she was pregnant and not consoling her when she lost the baby. He was unforgivable. I kept reading wishing I would see some remorse of what he had done in the past, but no. Nothing. Nothing. Not even an apology.
This was a typical harlequin story, where the hero was a complete oppressor and the heroine could not stand up for herself and would succumb to sex every time he as much as touched her. But if you could get past all of these, as I said, the plot was good. It was the execution that was an issue for me. ...more

Second chance romance between Andreas and Louisa. Both were married in a whim upon Louisa (17 y/o at that time) being pregnant. Both were young and probably did not know what hit them. What it took to be married. A catastrophe ensued; their young son died. Reeling from the anguish, Louisa returned to England to stay with her parents, while Andreas succumbed to despair on his own in Greece. By the time Andreas was done grieving, he found his wife gone. Fast forward five years later, Louisa returned to Greece - as she did annually - to visit her son's grave, but met her estranged husband.
Five years did not relax the sexual tension between them. Despite the intense old memory and the too much baggage, they could stay away from each other.
Louisa was hurt Andreas never looked for her. While Andreas with his cocky arrogance, could not believe Louisa could not return any of his phone calls, or agreed to meet him the few times he went to London to look for her.
Very captivating. The angst. The past being revealed layer by layer. I could not put down this book. ...more

Setting: London, Paris Plot: Burned by the alluring heiress Siena five years ago, Andreas - a lowly assistant manager at that time - built himself an empire, vowing to extract a revenge against the ethereal and bewitching but now a penniless ex heiress who managed to captivate his heart (despite his unwillingness to admit). He coerced her into becoming his mistress for a week, in exchange for the jewellery that he would pay her. Disgust ensued, he confirmed his perception of her; cold, gold-digging, pretentious rich girl. Surely a week would satisfy his pheral animal lust. He was so far from the truth. Siena had been working two menial jobs to save her sister. She behaved the way she did all her life ... to save her sister from being beaten by her father.
Characters: Siena Ex-heiress, beautiful, blond, ethereal, innocent yet strong, seemed aloof yet passionate. I loved her character; the way her sharp tongue dared to answered back to Andreas. [image]
Andreas A greek god, tall and muscular, black hair, utterly handsome, obscenely rich. I loved his hard exterior. [image]

When Leo met Angel, he felt an attraction he'd never had before. He couldn't get her out of his mind. Unbeknownst to him, she was the daughter of the family who destroyed his a long time ago. Motivated by revenge, he vowed to make her pay ... by making her his mistress - with blackmail and all. Angel, could not turn down his 'offer', only thinking of saving her younger sister.
I liked the built up, although I would have preferred the heroine to have more backbone ... or the hero having more remorse. The other thing I wasn't feeling it was the ending, it was too abrupt, there was no groveling (not much anyways). He should have been the first one to say I love you, not her. He should have grovelled more! But overall, a good one. ...more

In this case, the hero and heroine was married and estranged (due to a huge misunderstanding) - with both hating each other immensely. The hero's injured sister brought them together again - under forced circumstances, compelling them to live in very close quarters (the same bedroom) and pretend a 'happy marriage'. But could they? They knew the sexual tension was off the charts. However, there was just so much unsolved past and heartache for both parties. The angst.
The only thing I wished to see more was the hero's regret; regret when he said those hurtful things like 'whore'. That'd make it even more exciting to read. I love stories where the main characters were aching for each other (which they were) - yet tried so hard to fight off their attractions. This was a wonderful story. I am a sucker for second chance romances. The hero was not a jerk, yes he was a bit alpha male -ish but he's not the 'regular a**hole' that you see on harlequin novels. And I loved the heroine, she walked away from the hero, twice!!! He had to come back and get her and grovel. I wished he would grovel even from earlier ... a bit more. Both hero and heroine had such good characters. Yes, they were both hard, strong and fiercely loyal to their families, willing to sacrifice for them. Both were hot as hell - it's no wonder they were instantly attracted to each other when they touched. Hero was not a jerk and heroine was not a doormat like the usual harlequin stories were.

The hero was a brooding handsome Greek god. The heroine was a beautiful but destitute, yet witty with a wonderful personality. They met by chance - opposites attract! It was a one night stand. The beginning was a bit hard for me to read; the hero (Damon) was too annoying: blackmailing the heroine (Callie) into sleep with him, otherwise he'd ruin her family.
Damon was out to avenge his family. His dad passed away at work - while working his whole life for this company - who did not compensate his death but threatened to sue his family instead. Having to climb his way up to be where he was now; a successful businessman, he vowed for retribution.
In Damon's eyes, Callie was just like any social climbing leech the socialite ladies of his ton were. She was poised, sexy as hell, cold as ice ... a total seductress. He hated her upon knowing she was from the family he despised.
