I enjoyed the previous books in The Fight Game series but not nearly as much as my love for One Last Shot. This book was SO good and had me hooked immediately. If you read the earlier books, I definitely think this one has more plot, more emotion, more humor and a little bit less steam, which was a win for me. *You do not have to read the earlier books to read this one!
My favorite part about this was the dynamic between Kane and Isabella. They were complete opposites in every way but balanced each other out perfectly. I loved watching Kane peel off his layers and slowly show his soft side. And when Kane was being a dick, Isabella totally knew how to push back and level up with him. She was also patient and understanding when she needed to be and loved Kane for him, flaws and all. I also adored the found family theme and everything about the epilogue.

The two scream opposites in every way, but when Will offers to help Annie break through her shell and gain confidence with dating, the two form a relationship way beyond attraction. The only problem is that Annie is looking for her soulmate while Will does not believe in relationships.
I only have positive things to say about this rom-com. It was sweet, funny, entertaining and filled with a fabulous cast of main and supporting characters. I love how Adam’s wrote an introverted FMC who struggled with her own anxiety but was open to stepping outside her comfort zone. Will was the perfect hero to support Annie through this process and the way he always checked in with her before making any move was perfection. Also, if you were a fan of Noah and Amelia in When in Rome, get ready for many cameos of their HEA.

I will say that there is a lot of push-pull and toxicity between the two main characters that won’t be for everyone. Knowing Gen and Evan’s upbringings and teenage history, I thought their messy relationship was fitting for the story. It was special watching them grow and mature and each try to live a better life than their past. I also loved that Coop, Mac and the rest of the friends we met in Good Girl Complex played a big role in the story. At first I forgot all the small details but Elle Kennedy does a great job reintroducing the cast and reminding you of what happened.
