This was a short paranormal romance story between our heroine Lucy and our hero of the story Zeke. When Lucy’s great aunt passes, leaving her store, The Yarn Barn, in need of new management, in need for a fresh start, Lucy takes over the business. She jumps at the opportunity to quit her stressful sales job and moves to the strange town of Willow Vale where the store is located at. She meets her new neighbours, including Zeke, the owner of the occult shop next door. Friendly yet reserved, Zeke piques her interest, but he turns down her suggestion of a date. Whilst getting to know him more, Lucy finds out that Zeke is a lot more than Lucy originally thought, and is hiding a secret. She finds out he has a dangerous demon inside.
This was overall entertaining, even though it was short. I do think the short length worked against it a little bit because I felt the romance was a little bit rushed and it could have been developed more. Even the paranormal aspects could have done better with a few more pages delving into it a bit more. Still, it was a fun read/listen and I did enjoy it!...more

My Valentine is about is Valentine and Wyatt. Valentine who has been at Wyatt's company for over a year ends up promoted to be his new assistant. They immediately develop feelings for each other and go on from there.
I feel as though at this point, I'm just repeating myself and my thoughts, but I didn't enjoy this for the same reasons as I didn't enjoy the first 3 books in the series. I obviously kept reading on in the series because I got audio copies of the entire series and each book was very short (about 2 hours long each) which made them all quick reads and was easy to use to pass the time.
One positive of the audiobook (aside from the nice short length), is that the audio production and narration is good. As with the rest of the series, the narrators, Hector Carrillo and Marie Hawkins both did a great job with the voices, and they did try their best with bringing the story to life. Unfortunately, the stories were just not for me!...more

My Flower is an age-gap workplace romance between the mmc Lincoln and the fmc Lacey. Lincoln is the CEO of the company and he hires Lacey to be his new assistant.
I didn't feel any chemistry or connection or chemistry between these characters unfortunately. At this point, I'm beginning to see that the author's writing and characters are just not for me. At least in this series, all the mmc's and fmc's are written with the same archetypes. The mmc's are all very jealous, aggressive, controlling, and possessive which is not for me. Also all the fmc's all seem to be innocent virgins which very naive and childish personalities. All the stories so far are all insta love, which again, isn't for me. So, yeah, this book just didn't work for me.
Narrated by Hector Carrillo and Marie Hawkins, as with the first two books in the series, they did wonderfully. ...more

Julien and Marilyn meet at a bar one night and are immediately drawn to each other. They end up spending the night together and the next morning, Marilyn leaves without a word. Later on, they find out that Marilyn is actually one of the contestants of a baking competition that Julien is one of the judges for. This causes some tension as Marilyn doesn't want had outs, and doesn't want everyone thinking she got where she is by sleeping with the boss. She still ends up being hired based on her skill and their romance begins.
Unfortunately, just like the first book in the series, this did not work for me for pretty much the same reasons. The plot moved way too fast and the characters were not for me. The mmc is too possessive (and not in an endearing way). And I'm kind of over the virginal fmc stereotype tbh.
The narrators Hector Carrillo and Marie Hawkins did amazing though. So there that positive!...more

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. This is a work romance story between our main characters, Jack and Petra. Jack owns the company in which Petra works as a temp at and she gets promoted to his assistant.
The reason why this didn't work for me are... First, Jack was too aggressive, controlling, possessive and jealous. It didn't work the way I could have wanted it to. Also, Petra was too naive and childish for my liking.
Second, it was also too fast paced for my liking (one week and they're already married and wanting kids). I know it is a novella so its meant to be short, but I have read short books in the past where the characters still seem much more developed than this and the romances in those seem more believable than in this story. Here, it was insta love, which I don't usually enjoy. And, I still have no clue what the main characters saw in each other, other than lust.
Overall, though it wasn't the worst book I have even read, and it's short enough (2 hour audiobook) to get through quickly. One positive is the audiobook quality, which I enjoyed. Also, the narrators did a good job with the narration. ...more
