The more these two work together, the less they can keep away from each other.
Standalone billionaire romance with nice smut, a very likable heroine and a decent-enough hero. I would recommend this novel to contemporary romance readers who don’t like angst because there wasn’t any in it.
Ed was somewhat annoying because of his fixed-mindedness. He’s supposed to be this great businessman. How does one become a millionaire with blinders on ? Anyways, Jasmine makes up for all of it. She was a great heroine. I fell in love with how she held her head high and stood her ground.

Anna is starting Endymion College as a scholarship student and a literature lover. On her first day, she’s given a skeleton key for a hanging door she’s not supposed to open. Also her dorm room is haunted.
The beginning of this book reminded me so much about Crave by Tracy Wolff but this is much better -probably because we have young adults instead of teenagers as main characters. Aside from all the hilarious conversation (see the direct quote above), this was a cool spooky thriller of a romance. The first half is spookier than the second half. I loved the scene during class -it is by the way the most horror I can stomach- so I would have loved to read more scenes like that.
There isn’t a cliffhanger at the end but there are some questions that will be answered later as this is the first book in a series. Honestly, I’m kind of excited about the next books. I am hoping that there will be more spooky mystery and less relationship drama.

NThe sudden arrival of Janzen, Kaere’s old friend from 7 years ago, sets a series of life-changing events for Kaere (and everyone, really) in motion. Not wanting to be forced to marry a man she barely knows and intrigued by Janzen’s warnings about danger lurking close, Kaere soon flees her home and the only family she has -her father- behind and follows her friend into the unknown.
As the reader, we are invited to follow multiple characters and try to solve the great mystery that is the darkness surrounding the towns and the monsters that live in it.
This book was such a pleasurable read. Great world building, the intriguing mystery and the chemistry between Kaere and Janzen all made for an immersive fantasy reading. I recommend it to fantasy lovers who like to discover new worlds and new sets of rules. Also to those who like dystopian settings. It’s not set in the future but the world we’re introduced to is a harsh one which reminded me of that time I watched The Maze Runner and The Divergent series back to back (because depression).

Logan (the middle child) is the only one who kept in touch with Elizabeth over the years and he thinks that the easiest way to weather the storm for both him and Elizabeth would be a secretly arranged marriage between them. Elizabeth, feeling overwhelmed by the politics and the power plays inside the company, agrees.
For a book that has a plot that screams soap opera and promises lots of drama, it was pretty tame. There was no revenge plot, no public outbursts or displays of conflict and no family secrets were revealed. There was one villain with an evil scheme but that problem was resolved pretty quickly.
Still, this is a good book. A typical contemporary romance novel complete with pining, angst and a generous amount of smut.

Note from the Author : “The Pack's Bride is what I'm calling my 'Alphaholes to Cinnamon Rolls' book. The five heroes aren't nice to our heroine to begin with, but that changes. Please keep this in mind before you read the book.”
I’m not gonna sit here and claim that this was an easy read. The first half of the book made me want to claw my eyes out. But look, I was there for it. I was into it.
I saw the author’s note and I liked the concept and used every bit of patience I had. At the end of the day the heroine had the upper hand because she could leave if she wanted, in 30 days. And my hesitation dissipated when I saw the change was somewhat organic and the heroine, while being the catalyst, didn’t cause all of it. There were other role models and information newly available that contributed a lot to the change.
And as the male chauvinists painstakingly crawled to a mindset where they met the bare minimum requirements of being a decent person, I started to like them. And started to finally enjoy the smut. Seriously, the smut is on point.
Then Talis got angry with the heroine and went and locked her inside and not only broke her trust but also mine too. She may let that sh*t go because he apologizes, then gets a boo boo but I will not. I understand that life’s short. Not being able to trust people who are closest to you makes it even shorter though.
Read it for the smut —My reverse harem expectations were thoroughly met ! Also if you like alphaholes that kinda, sorta learn to be normal-ish.

While on a recovery mission, Fierce comes across the sole survivor of a shipwreck. His instincts tell him that he found his mate. Hina’s instincts on the other hand, tell her to run. So she does and promptly falls into a hole. The two will have to rely on each other to get out alive.
I had a lot of fun reading this. At the beginning of the book, the main characters are on an unknown-to-them planet and are separated from the group. Separating the leads from the group is something the author does in previous books too but I enjoyed it the most in this one because it’s a survival story and those are really fun (when you know they’ll have a happy ending of course).
Admittedly, the first half is better than the second half. The Naga were just too interesting to let go of that easily so I’m hoping we’ll come across them again in the future.
Fierce is my second favorite mmc in this whole series. He has such a gentle soul and I couldn’t help but swoon every time he was being an animal lover. Plus all the animals -including the new additions- were delightful to read about. Honestly, the easiest thing to make me like a book is to put a cute animal in it and this one has several !

It is up to Cassie to pay her mother’s debts, after she leaves her and her younger siblings to fend for themselves. While trying to navigate the MC gang life without getting hurt and trying to protect her siblings, Cassie is…alone. That is, until Grunge comes along.
Goblin romance is something I never thought I would read because the word goblin just reminds me of Norman Osborn a.k.a. The Green Goblin. But Roxy Collins’ novel has nothing to do with that and at any rate, Grunge might possibly be the coolest name for a monster romance mmc.
I found this to be an enjoyable read. I thought there was too much happening. It honestly could’ve been a trilogy with all the stuff that’s going on. All the side characters have things going on and almost everyone is interesting.
This is a standalone —first in a series of novels that will be featuring the other gobelins we’re getting to know in it. Personally, I’m hoping for an overarching story that will answer the minor unanswered questions we were left with. I also would love to see a shift in societal rules of gobelins with the arrival of modern women amongst them. At any rate, I’ll be patiently waiting for the next books in the series.

Very short novella but I think the content is very rich. Enemies to lovers + a cute college sports romance. I liked both characters so much that I would reread a longer version of their story –so that we have more time to get to know the characters better. Lennon was such a determined woman and I loved that about her (but Rayn was as determined as her). They just fit each other. There’s a cute scene where they are stuck at the tutoring center because of a tornado which was my favorite part of the novella.

JK, let me elaborate : Short novella with a surprising amount of plot and action crammed in there. This novella is part of a series but it can be read as a standalone. It’s evident that some information is missing about the side characters but the story stands on its own. I would recommend this as something light and fun, after a long read or during a book hangover.
Obviously, I decided to read this one because of the name. I was expecting ridiculous, downright campy alien smut. And I wouldn’t call this novella campy or ridiculous but it had its moments. Who doesn’t love the idea of a heroine who climbs walls and crawls on the ceiling ? The mental image the descriptions awakened me were those of a person in dire need of an exorcism. So I had fun.

As the authors explain it, this is how they rose to the Wattpad challenge, ‘the busy romantic’s five-minute read’. Having created Siobhan as a side character in earlier books, they decided to give her a story of her own.
I hadn’t yet met Siobhan before this novella but I’m glad to meet her now. She was fun and admirably confident. Asher was a sweetheart. He was so earnest that I immediately liked him. Two of them were very cute together.
All in all, a quick read that left me wanting more. Fair warning : closed-door and I’d classify the ending as hfn.

Eliana is ordered to court by her father so that she can secure a marriage to a wealthy suitor and save their family from financial disaster. There, she spends most of her time surrounded by her close friends and Corin, the Queen’s nephew, the handsome knight. Corin’s already betrothed to another but as the two become close friends, they can't help but start to develop feelings for each other.
This was a long book and in terms of romance, definitely a slowburn despite the fact that the main characters had the hots for each other since their first meeting. The friendship between Eliana and Corin develops over time and they share a lot of things with each other along the way. Their interactions were really sweet and there are some scenes that will live in my head forever now. As the main couple they give all the drama one would expect from them. There’s jealousy, fights and misunderstandings. There’s long separations, endless obstacles, pining and angst. There’s self-doubt and anxiety. Theirs is a long journey but it reaches a happy end.
The supporting characters, Rachiele and Telon were as interesting as the main couple. I was so happy to see that those two got lots of screen time and we got to know them as well. But romance isn’t the only thing on the menu. There are a lot of things going on at the same time and on the background. For example, the bandits who keep attacking villages and to whom most of the action is related.
At the end, there were some unanswered questions. Eliana’s gift is not thoroughly explored and Corin’s family (his father and his brother) is still wrapped in mystery. I can only hope that it means there will be a second book. Maybe with Niel as the main character. He didn’t seem as bad as everyone made him out to be. And I’d love me some morally grey dickhead who hides a cinnamon roll underneath.
The fact that I’m this much interested in the fates of other characters speaks volumes imo. I’m now invested in this world. I want this to be a series : A book where they go on an adventure to discover that dragon’s nest. A book where we get to see the bandits more, their lives, their cause -if there is one. A book about Tamsin, the archer. A book about the paladins (the female guards/warriors). I want to explore all these little details.
All in all, I loved this book. My only problem was that, even though Eliana’s growth throughout the book was impressive, she tended to be a bit self righteous.

ThiA novel about an older widower with two kids and the nanny he hires to look after them while he writes his novel during the kids’ summer vacation. This could've been shorter but I enjoyed the ride. Maybe a bit melodramatic but I ate it up.
The Summer Getaway became my imaginary summer getaway too. The author did a great job setting the scene and I was transported to this vacation along with the main characters. The characters were very likable and very mature which made the reading experience that much better. Plotwise, it’s a little slower than what I’m used to but it kept my interest and I loved the wholesome parts. Like when the fmc and the twins bonded over shopping and Avril Lavigne songs.
The only thing I didn’t like was –and I can’t believe I’m saying this– that there were just too many sex scenes. Normally I’d say the more the better but aside from that one 69, there wasn’t much variety.

I was drawn to this book because of the blurb and I feel like my instincts were correct. The pacing is good. The story is interesting. The shy guy and the every girl are cute together. This is a new author and I intend to follow her work. She has an interesting point of view and she’s mentioned some interesting concepts (also some meme references). Also, her characters were interesting and I’m already holding my breath for Wes’s book since I feel like he’s my soulmate (Books and tea ? He couldn’t be more perfect !).
But… as the incomparable Stephen King says, to edit is divine. The Game Plan needs some. There was a lot of repetition, sometimes verbatim. In my opinion, there also needs to be a lot more dialogue instead of inner monologues. Still, I was interested in the characters enough to continue the story and see what happens.

Even though I was intimidated by the fact that it’s a series, I was drawn to Nightshifted because of the premise –which provides such a grim atmosphere it almost reads like a film noir. Vampire child pornography gangs and shapeshifters who were tortured to their breaking point are some of the images that will stay with me. Because what could be scarier than paranormal beings acting as depraved as humans do ?
I think I would’ve ranked this book higher if it stayed on that trajectory, like a real-world parallel, instead of going for the paranormal classics ((view spoiler)[with awkward scenes where incompetent vamps frantically hack and slash the main character’s body, looking for her soul, while screaming at her, asking where it is (hide spoiler)]).
Some of the medical talk was nonsense to me but I just skipped those parts and didn’t feel like I needed to catch up. However the hospital as a setting was my favorite thing in this book. Especially at night, I find them to be calming places. Which may sound weird to some people but it is what it is.
The story meandered a bit in the beginning but when it took off, it was hard for me to put it down. All in all, it was an entertaining read with interesting characters that I enjoyed reading about. It just didn’t completely live up to my expectations.

There’s no point in denying that I’m obsessed with this series. I don’t know why, but everything just clicks into place for me. The found family (in space, no less), the lack of angst, the mature, strong leads who know what they want and simply go for it and endless cameos from my absolute favorite couple (Abigail & Ziame ofc.).. I just eat it all up. Also the endless possibilities are extremely enticing. There are lots of directions the overarching plot could take, at all times. That just keeps things interesting.
I’m sad that I had to skip the second book. I can’t get my hands on it dammit ! But with this author, it’s the ride not the destination that’s important so I risked the spoilers. I’ll circle back to the second book when I can.
The plot : While escaping her attempted murder by her superior, Camila is stuck floating in space until she’s rescued by the Vagabond team from the previous books. After a bad first impression, sparks fly the more Thorin and Camila get to know each other. The gang tries to solve the mystery surrounding Camila’s predicament.
This book is plot driven and full of interesting characters who may or may not be keeping secrets (looking at you very expectantly, Fierce) of their own. The action is dangerous yet the solidarity and fraternity is real. I was violently sobbing when they left that damn medallion behind. Also, Akri (the AI) was hilarious. I don’t have much else to say.
Then I reached up with one hand and touched the pariah medallion on his cheek, “I’m taking this off. You’re not wearing it.” He didn’t stop me when I carefully unhooked the small disk and when I showed it to him in the palm of my hand, he picked it up and with a wide smile tossed it into the cell.

Karolyna, the princess of hell, gets a new bodyguard to keep her from sneaking out of the palace. The new guard is hot but he doesn’t want to be working for a snooty princess. As destiny weaves its webs, these two will face a lot of challenges.
I was basically glued to the book, trying to guess where the plot is going and always being wrong. A lot of things happen and the author keeps things interesting. For anyone who enjoys plot driven books, this is a solid recommendation, I would say. That isn’t to say that the characters were uninteresting. I liked both MCs. I especially liked them together. This is the first time I’m reading about a hero who reads romance novels and not just reads them but also presents his annotations to the fmc to flirt with her. That’s a keeper right there.
Some parts didn’t work for me. From an early age, I was conditioned to believe that the rich girl poor boy trope can only end in tragedy, which is why I think I wasn’t completely convinced by the ending. Seemed to me that the resolution was a bit too easy.
If, in the future, this becomes a series, I would love that. I was intrigued by Arik. If he gets his own book, I hope the author leans on her self-aware antics a bit more than this book. At the beginning I was almost gleeful when she made some self-aware comments. That is humor I appreciate.
