Anyway, reading this did cause me to reflect on how much time I spend reading and how that has caused me to neglect my housework. I also haven’t been paying enough attention to my personal appearance. My husband does important work and I should support him by keeping the house tidy, looking my best, and having supper on the table promptly by 6pm each day. Well, I’m off to scrub the floors. ...more
I enjoyed most of this, but I had some issues with the writing. I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I won’t go into too much detail. But, if youI enjoyed most of this, but I had some issues with the writing. I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I won’t go into too much detail. But, if you look at my highlights and notes there is one instance where the author contradicts herself. I would think authors would keep notes when writing to prevent that from happening. I also didn’t really like any of the characters all that much. It was a decent book but not a 5 star, or even a 4. ...more

I would love it if he haunted me and helped me solve crimes. I really should’ve loved this book but I just didn’t. The main character wasn’t very likable. Something about the writing didn’t click with me. I didn’t realize until quite a ways into the book that i started with book 2 instead of book 1, but i don’t think I’m going to go back and read book one. Sad because l’ll miss Gunter but that’s the only thing I’ll miss about this book. One more thing, the dog didn’t exhibit typical GSD behavior in my opinion. I realize he was a ghost & all, but GSDs are dedicated to their people. This dog didn’t seem to like his previous owner. Oh well, I’m disappointed that I didn’t love this book because I saw myself reading through the whole series. ...more

It has been a long time since I read a good werewolf novel and this ranks up there with my favorites. I was disappointed when I realized it wasn’t book number one in a long running series. It was a very enjoyable standalone anyway. I didn’t understand the low ratings then I read that the author is described as “an American novelist and conservative political commentator.” Interestingly, the book is rated 4.5 on Amazon where it is not as easy to trash a book just because you don’t like the author’s politics. I’m looking forward to checking out the rest of his books....more
