His tongue writes secrets across the inside of my mouth, scripts of longing that have no place in our world. And I read them all, insatiable for the narrative that could destroy us both."
Dallas is book 2 in the Light & Shadow duet by the fabulous N.N. Britt and whilst it is predominantly Dallas' book, it is written in dual POV with chapters shared between Dallas and Isaac. Natalia writes so beautifully, and creates such wonderfully complex, layered, broken characters you just lose yourself in the continuation of the story.
Again, watch out for those tough, dark themes BUT I promise there's a HEA!
What To Expect:
❥ MM mafia/cop romance ❥ dual POV ❥ opposites attract ❥ steamy ❥ angsty ❥ first times ❥ found family ❥ HEA

It was soooo good to have a new M.A. Grant book in my hot little hand!
Under His Name is part of the Accidentally Undercover shared romantic suspense series and is a story and character driven MM short story/novella.
Our MCs are Agent Nicolas Conti and high school teacher Sam Walch, who is recruited (coerced!) to the agency to take the place of his injured, annoying twin brother on an op. And if Nic and Sam cross some lines working together you wouldn't find me complaining.....
Loved everything about Under His Name but would have loved it to have been a full length novel (of course!)

He didn’t have many of those— he was more effective as a criminal mind rather than a victim advocate— so when they did surface, they were unusually strong. Tracey carried a wholesomeness the world hadn’t yet tainted despite his age and profession."
The Family Man was my first book by A.J. Rose but I will definitely be checking out their back catalogue now! Totally loved this romantic suspense/thriller, based around an elite FBI team of behavioural analysts, on the trail of a serial sniper. Our MCs are Jon Anderson, the team leader and his new rookie analyst, Tracey Smith.
This is the first book in the author's planned The Mind Hacker series which does contain themes of dark violence, including off-page SA, psychological manipulation, narcissism and other disturbing themes.

My tongue trailed upward and I saw his hand lift off the ground for a moment before he put it back down. My own body was reacting in a way I couldn't deny."
Madilyn DeRose is a new to me author because whilst she writes the dark, twisty romance goodness that I love, she seems to traditionally writes MF romance and I am still going through my MM reading phase. So how delighted was I to come across her latest offering TimeFall, which seems to be her first MM book - and please don't make it your last Madilyn DeRose!
This was Liam and Creed's story and it's a plot driven, time travel tale - think shades of Outlander and Back to the Future but make it MM, with all the steamy first times included - and including some fabulous characters, a villanous plot twist, a 'coming to terms with it' bi-awakening, some hilarious banter and a hard won HEA.
This isn't a dark read, but it was such a perfect package.

The long dark eyelashes fanning over his slightly tanned skin matched the colour of his hair, which was sticking up in places where he’d been lying on it. It looked soft, almost baby fine. Had I ever looked at a man the way I did him? I’d never once had the attraction I felt towards him, and it unnerved me."
Nate is a hard-working 38 year old cop, struggling with the end of his marriage. Ollie is the 25 year old witness to the gangland murder of an undercover cop, and also the ex-lover of the killer. Nate is the DI charged with protecting Ollie, as the police race to solve the murder and bring charges before a hit can be made on Ollie. And along the way both men develop feelings.....

I am loving the Smoky Vale Alliance series by Gianni Holmes. Gunner is book 2 in the series and while it can be read as a standalone, I do recommend that you read book 1, Bay, first for context and the back story that is woven throughout Gunner too. This is Gunner and Ben's story.
Look, enemies to lovers is my kryptonite, especially when they actually despise each other at the start of the book - and quite a way into it too! Opposites attract at its finest, Gunner is the President of the Blood Hounds MC and Ben Witter is the Chief of Police, on the trail of a baby trafficking operation which started in Bay and which seems to implicate Gunner's MC.
And then there's the matter of Ben's ex Mason, who had (unbeknownst to Ben) had an affair with Gunner since their teenage years.......
There are some confronting themes, and this is a crime thriller as well as a MM romance, so do check the author's notes before reading.

Ashlyn Drewek is one of my most favourite authors and is an absolute one-click, must have the e-book, paperback and special edition hardback copies of EVERYTHING she writes, thank you.
So.... when I found out that she was rewriting her very first novel Out of the Dark (which was MF and actually a damn good read so go check it out) BUT MAKING IT M/M, this was a must have, give it to me now, stop the press, I want it book.
And it is FABULOUS. Per Sanguinem ('through the blood') is a paranormal/urban fantasy suspense romance, in a contemporary setting. It's plot and character driven, with amazing world building - Ashlyn Drewek actually creates a whole new species/culture of vampire for our reading delight - oh, did I mention it has vampires? It has vampires. And cops. And vampire cops.
So we have the slowwww burn (forbidden) love story between our MC cops, Chase (human) and Eric (vampire), developing in line with the plot - a series of killings which clearly aren't what they seem to be, because supernatural elements are in play and vampires are living amongst the humans, unseen and unknown. The story-building is layered, complex and beautifully written.
Throw in some forced proximity, a jealous ex-lover, slow burn and high steam (think vampire bites during smexy times and a 'mine' vibe), gruesome murders, lascivious and vicious vamps and a closeted cop with the hots for his vampire partner, and you are getting an idea of the rollercoaster ride that is Per Sanguinem.
I can't recommend it highly enough!
