She hurtled through the streets, each step faster than the last as that black fire burned through thought and feeling until all that remained was her rage and her prey. She took back alleys and leapt over walls. She'd slaughter them all. Faster and faster, sprinting for that beautiful house on its quiet street, for the two men who had taken her world apart piece by piece, bone by shattered bone." I am done. I am over. I am dead. It was a mournful piece, but it made her into something clean and new. She was surprised that her hands had not forgotten, that somewhere in her mind, after a year of darkness and slavery, music was still alive and breathing. That somewhere, between the notes, was Sam. She forgot about time as she drifted between pieces, voicing the unspeakable, opening old wounds, playing and playing as the sound forgave and saved her."
I can't put the way this book made me feel in words. I am in love with almost every character, and especially with Sarah J. Maas' writing style. That action-packed duel scene was so, so beautiful, just as every other paragraph of this novel. The only really cringey drawback of this book is the love triangle which I absolutely can't stand, because it makes Celaena look vulnerable and... human *woah*. Thorne coughed. "I'm still confused." With a sigh, Cinder wilted onto a crate, staring down at her mismatched hands. She scrunched her whole face up, like preparing for a blow, and muttered, "I'm Princess Selene." Thorne snorted and they all turned to him. He blinked. "What, really?" "Really."

He is certainly ablaze, but darkness eats at his edges. Bruise-like splotches of black and blue surround eyes bloodshot with silver veins. He has not slept. He's thinner than I remember, leaner, crueler. His hair, black as a void, has reached his ears, curling at the ends, and his cheeks are still smooth. Sometimes I forget how young he is. How young we both are. Beneath my shift dress, the M brand on my collarbone stings."
I missed them. Mare, Maven, Cal, Farley, Cameron, even Evangeline. That's most likely the reason I gave this book a 5-star rating, as well as the fact that I haven't read a YA fantasy novel in quite a long time. Also, there's lots of Maven, who I absolutely adore even though I don't remember if I liked him at all in the first two installemnts or not. Overall, I enjoyed it.
P.S.: I SHIP MARE & MAVEN. A LOT.
"They're well taken care of. Provided for." Overhead, the lights flicker like the beating of a moth's wings. "A cell is still a cell, no matter how you dress it up," I sneer. He doesn't flinch. "And a war is a war, Mare Barrow. No matter how good your intentions may be."...more

This book wrecked me, just as it wrecked Mare. It played wit"If I am a sword, I am a sword made of glass, and I feel myself beginning to shatter."
This book wrecked me, just as it wrecked Mare. It played with my feelings and lured them into the wild, it made them shatter away as no other book ever did. I liked it so, SO much, more than I could ever think I would. And the thing is, I literally don't know why. I mean, character development doesn't really exist, and the plot did not thicken at all, so I can't see why I enjoyed the hell out of it.
Mare makes stupid decisions. Again. Especially in the last few chapters. I dislike Cal profusely, and Farley was OK-ish at best. On the other hand, I adore Shade, and Cameron reminds me of Game of Thrones' Lyanna Mormont. Also, this book gave me lots of different vibes. 'Dishonored' vibes, 'The Last Airbender' vibes, 'Mistborn' vibes, and whatnot. Glass Sword might be my new guilty pleasure.
His maddening smile flags, twisting into a scowl that betrays a quick temper. "I see the crown dripping blood. A storm without thunder. Shadow twisting on a bed of flames." Cal's hand twitches at his side. "I see lakes flooding their shores, swallowing men whole. I see a man with one red eye, his coat blue, his gun smoking-" Farley beats a fist agains the table. "Enough!" "I believe him." The words taste strange....more
