Although A lighthearted and fun romantic story by Katie Reus. I do enjoy the nanny and the grumpy H trope, this was a novella so it was a quick read. Although this was a fun read, it does have a wee bit of danger though nothing too heavy. I like Patience our h, she might a sweetheart but she's no pushover. Trevor, our H has went through several nannies (gee, I wonder why?) and being the Head of Security he can be suspicious by nature. The interaction between both Patience and Trevor was a delight to read and yes, the sexy times are hot ... hot ... hot!
With pretty low on the angst scale, you can easily spend an afternoon away tucked away with this book.

I've been an ardent reader of Ms Katie Reus books and I absolutely loved her Darkness series. I have to say that his novella is just a meh for me, I just find that the premise of the breakup between Daniel and Kathryn could have been resolved much earlier had they just communicate with each other. Still I enjoyed the book, it was still a pleasant read for me.

One being the "dead spouse" trope, of course this isn't something new to Ms Edwards as she's written this trope before. However, if done wrong the reader will be left to feel that the FMC comes 2nd to the dead wife, thankfully this is not so in this book. The next is about abuse, as we all know abuse comes in all shapes and forms. In this story, this is verbal abuse from a mother to her children and a wife to her husband. It was horrible, another difficult subject to broach but again, Ms Edwards did it with class. I especially am thankful that Ms Edwards brought forward the matter of wife abusing their husbands (as always, it is the other way round) and it was heartbreaking to read.
The highlight of this book for me is the OG ladies of 707 series (if you haven't read this series, I highly recommend that you do) I adore them and totally love that they took Sawyer under their wing (especially Reagan).
What a wonderful series and the addition of Conquered only proves to make this series better....more

Not only are the interactions between Callum and Rora entertaining, it is filled with heartbreaks too. There were times when I just want to sock Callum in the head for being a dodo-head but his past experienced has shaped him into a distrustful person, so I cut him some slack. I have to say though that the animals took spotlights in this book, I might be a cat lover but I must say I am so loving Johnny Cash and his harem ..... such a hoot!
I look forward to more books from Redemption, infact, can Redemption be real because I want to move in....more

I enjoyed reading this book, however there were times when I just want to wring Sadie's neck. As a longtime reader and a huge fan, I have to say that I almost have no problems with Ms Edwards Heroes. Unfortunately the same cannot be said with her heroines and Sadie is one of them. Sadie's character and personality just irked me, I find her to be too prideful at times. I find that Reese is just too good for her and he's very patient as well.
The storyline is good, not the greatest and I feel like lightning might strike me because I didn't find this series as gripping as her earlier works. Something is missing and for the life of me, I cannot pinpoint exactly what it was.
Having said that I'm still looking forward to reading more future books by Ms Edwards....more

When You Least Expect It is Book 11 in this series and once again, I couldn't put the book down. I read it in one sitting and I just love Stella, our FMC. Stella is loyal to a fault, she's all about family and she would do anything for them, especially her dad. As for West, he is perfect for her. I didn't quite like his nickname for her and I winced each time I read it but it what it is, I've learned to accept it by the end of the book. I also adore the entire Ryan family, they're not models of society and yes, they're criminals but I want them to adopt me!
Enjoyed this book so much and I cannot wait for the next one....more

In this first book of this series, we're introduced to Danny (a rookie firefighter) and Hayden who is back after her disappointing big town "adventure".
This book is more than just romance between 2 people. It goes far deeper than that, it looks into societal challenges and it made us (whether we like it or not) to question our own perception of others. I enjoyed seeing authors who took time in creating their characters to be more than 2D in their books. In Rookie, you'll see both Danny and Hayden inner struggle and how they grow into accepting who they are. You'll also see a father who struggled in raising up 2 daughters when his wife ran away, how he finally relented and cut the "apron strings" realising that his daughters are adults and can make their own decisions. I enjoy learning about the secondary characters in this book and dearly hope Ms Briscoe will expand on them.
Trigger: (view spoiler)[There is a scene earlier in the book where the H is having sex with OM. This was before he meet the h. I'm kind of okay with it but some readers might be uncomfortable with such scenes. (hide spoiler)]

There's hardly any chemistry between the 2 main characters and barely any sizzle, I'm guessing this is clean romance? Valentino is supposedly the Yule Heights Casanova, which he claimed to be inappropriately labelled. We never really truly get to see that the rumours around his Lothario ways were grossly exaggerated. Amara's character is kind of adorable but still lack of depth. She's supposed to be very jaded in love and preferred to remain single, however after spending a few hours with Val she suddenly have a change of heart? Just. Doesn't. Compute.
If you're looking for a very quick read with hardly any character development or chemistry between 2 main characters, give this book a try. It might not be up my alley, but it might be yours. Thanks NetGalley for this copy, this is my honest review....more

How is Riley Edwards able to spin us story after captivating story? There is nothing that I don't like about Tainted. Every paragraph, every sentence aren't wasted on the reader. With thoughtful words Ms Edwards sucks in her readers (me, of course) and I couldn't find it in me to put down the book. So yes, I read this in one seating and I even forgo sleep (did not regret it one bit!)
I love the storyline, I've been curious about Matthew for quite sometime now. The man is rolling in money and he kept relationship at an extreme corner. He knew women are after him for his name and the riches that came with it. He had a wonderful upbringing, filled with great memories of his parents although his sister is kind of a bitch. Eventhough he was from a very privileged background, Matthew didn't squander his time away and lived on his inheritance. He turned his back on the corporate world and went into military and then decided to join his brothers-in-arms to open up their own investigation company.
On the other side of the spectrum, we have Chelsea who is a true blue cowboy .... not a cowgirl but a cowboy as she rides bulls and is active in the rodeo competition circuit. Chels didn't come from a privileged background and her childhood was filled with heartbreaking abuse. It shaped her to be the woman she is, an Alpha in her own right. Out of the many heroines that Ms Edwards wrote, I am in love with Chels. I respect her grit and determination and my heart breaks for her when I read about her background story.
This book will gripe you from start to finish and then it will want you to start to re-read it all over again. I will always recommend Ms Edwards books, you will not disappoint. ...more

It's like JP took her time introducing us to the wonderful characters, laying the ground works for more stories to tell when she suddenly realised she might have stayed a wee bit too long and now must rush through to the end.

I'm conflicted with this book, I'm a huge fan of Cara Carnes and so far, I've loved all her books. However, I find myself just trudging along and forcing myself to turn each page. There is a lot and I mean A LOT of exposition. I'm left dissatisfied with the romance between Jen and Razor, I wanted more of their romantic interactions. They hardly have anything physical going on between them till nearly the end of the book. Granted I'm not asking for sex sex sex all the way but the lack of physical interaction was frustrating to me.
I pray that this is not the new norm for Cara Carnes in the way she writes her books going forward. What made me wistful of what it could be is that I love the MC genre and this marriage between paramilitary and MC would have been perfect for me. Still at the end of it all, I'm still firmly in the Cara Carnes camp. With this book I might be one of the rare anomaly, I'm truly happy that my other fellow readers gave it a 5 star, unfortunately it just didn't work for me. ...more

Do I love everything about this book, not really but it doesn't take away my pleasure in reading it.
I adore Willow, I utterly adore her for I think she has the most generous heart and infinite patience to deal with her sisters. She sees herself as the bland looking wallflower, wearing too big size clothes to hide her curvaceous figure. To see her finally emerge from her cocoon was a delight to read. I'm so glad that she finally surrounds herself with friends that supported her growth into the beautiful woman that she is. As for Stone, let me tell you .... Jessica Prince had to sell him hard for me because I wasn't into Stone at all. Not initially, at least. Once he's fully committed into the relationship was when I thawed towards him. Not my fav Jessica Prince Heroes but not the worst.
What stood out most for me was Aurora. That woman is HOOT! Every girl needs an Aurora in her life. Heck, I want Aurora to be my BFF! Her character and personality make the book even more joyous to read.
The one thing that made me withheld my 5 star review is the tying up on Willow's dad and sisters angle of the story, especially her sisters. It was too neatly tied with a ribbon, a little bit too unbelievable for me. Also, dare I say a tad too rushed to resolved the issue?

I drink that all up and we're talking a 20 year gap here folks, that is super long indeed. This was a sobfest for me, Isabella/Bella/Elle has a tragic backstory that it just broke my heart for her. I wanna kick Prentice in the ass a few times but he give good grovel so he's back in my hot Alpha category. Also he's Scottish, all the while when I was reading I have this sexy Scottish brogue in my head and it was yummy!
The side characters were colourfully written and we do have a couple of vile ones, namely Isabella's horrible father. What an atrocious human being! Mikey is the best gay BFF, I like him and thank goodness KA didn't really go overboard with his character. Then there's Annie, gosh I love Annie. I also love that Prentice loved his late wife and he genuinely adored her. Usually the dead wife trope could go quite iffy but I think KA did a marvelous job with this.
The epilogues would have been perfect if they were longer. I want the signature long KA epilogues, I lived for them!...more
