It took me quite a while to get into this. At firstRe-read November 2021
I'm just going to read all the Christmas books.
-------------------------------
It took me quite a while to get into this. At first I wasn't impressed at all. I even put it down and thought about quitting altogether. But I'm glad I stuck with it. Because suddenly I found myself enjoying the story more and more. I ended up liking it enough to give it a solid 4 stars.
At first I was a bit annoyed at the whole ‘let’s be friends with benefits so I can teach you some sexy moves’ trope. But once Max invites Jeremy to his house for Christmas it got so much better.
I really liked how sweet these guys were with each other. Jeremy was such a shy nerdy guy, I loved him. But I liked Max the most. He was sweet and patient and just the perfect boyfriend really.
I’m also very allergic to the whole ‘let’s not tell each other how we really feel’ thing, but I was so happy that it didn’t happen like that here. It was obvious there were feelings involved for both of them. Sure, there is a part where they agree they should maybe put things on pause for a while, but that didn’t really last that long.
So overall I really enjoyed this and would sure read it again next year.

If the hurt/comfort is too in your face I tend to lose interest. And that was the case here. Terrence was more like a damsel in distress, than I little in need of some assistance. ...more

I do wish this author would continue with the series and not just write shorts. I loved the first book and we got a good teaser about the next couple, and then... nothing....more

On paper this sounds pretty good. A northpole elf falling in love with a human. With lots of christmas cheer to top it off. But somehow I didn't like anything about this.
It started when Aidan and Dex meet and Dex immediately says Aidan is an elf after seeing his pointy ears. I kept wating til Dex would mention cosplay or anything like that. You know, what a regular person would believe when they see an 'elf'. But nope, Aidan is a real elf and that's that.
Then we got the email exchanges between these two. I never once thought these emails were anything but boring and uninspiring.
I can go on and on what I didn't like about this, but it comes down to the fact that I felt no connection with anyone, that Aidan and Dex were not my kind of characters and that the writing felt a bit forced and unnatural. :(...more

This was really sweet.
I really liked awkward clumsy Evan. And I really liked how easily these guys went from friends to lovers. Tyler was quite oblivious at first, but once he saw the light he was all in.
The whole ski resort setting at Christmas was pretty great too.
One thing I didn't like was the mention of them both being on PrEP so it was safe to skip the condoms. I think the author could have handled that better. Safe sex is always important and I think authors can think of a way for characters to have unsafe sex without sending a message that when you're on PrEP you can have unsafe sex. Either use condoms or have them both just been tested or something. HIV is not the only STD out there....more

Lily Morton has often been a hit or miss for me, but I have really enjoyed her last few books. And this one was just great!
I don’t think I have ever read a book set in my country that wasn’t all wrong. But Lily Morton got everything right! Even though we haven’t had snow in years, it could happen. :)
What I like most about Lily Morton books is that she doesn’t really do the awkward morning after thing. Arlo and Jack woke up from their sex marathon night and instead of thing being awkward, they were hilarious together.
“Did we have sex?” I say. “Please say no. I’d hate to think I’d forgotten that.” He groans and pulls me next to him. “Stop moving the bed,” he says pitifully. I settle down and he pats my hip. “We didn’t have sex. Although you did climb on me and order me to suck your cock.” “Did I? How alarmingly forceful of me.” I crane my neck to look at him. “And were you okay with that?” I ask hesitantly. He hums. “I think the fact that you’re wearing more of my come suggests that I was fine with the idea.” I relax and he pats my arse. “Although I was a bit put off by you twirling imaginary guns and shouting, ‘Ride ‘em, cowboy.’” “Oh dear,” I say faintly. “Alcohol brings out a very slutty side in me.”
So lighthearted and fun.
I did hate Steven and I thought he was just a bit too evil. I mean, why would anyone ever date such an openly hostile and nasty person?
But to balance out the nastiness that was Steven, I really LOVED Arlo’s brother Tom and his boyfriend Bee. I not only connected with Arlo and Jack, but with all the other characters as well. They all felt so real.
This was an absolutely lovely Christmas story and one I will re-read often I can already tell....more

This is the 3rd book of this series I've read and I've come to the conclusion that these are not the best books. The writing is just plain bad. Could be there's a hidden gem somewhere in this series of shorts, but so far they're all pretty horrible.
I did like this one slightly more than the other two I read.
This time we have an elf paired up with a werewolf. We have all the usual mate stuff, insta-love, biting, and that kind of stuff going on. And it was nice. But I still can't say I really enjoyed it.
This started out quite promising, but then it slowly deteriorated until there wasn't that much left to like.
I honestly don't care if my MCs are young This started out quite promising, but then it slowly deteriorated until there wasn't that much left to like.
I honestly don't care if my MCs are young or if someone is barely legal. But Nym has loved Josiah for years, while Josiah just turned 18... So a grown up elf has loved a teenage boy for years...? I get that it wasn't meant in a creepy way, but it kind of squeaked me out....more

I liked this more than I expected! I've read a few of the books in this Naughty and Nice series, and a lot are just not that great. But here the writing felt smooth, and the more I read the more I started to enjoy it.
I really liked that Maddox was the younger daddy, while Sebastian was slightly older, took care of his daughter, but was still a boy. I loved that this was never an issue between them.
I was afraid these guys would try to keep is casual, since Maddox starts off by telling himself he doesn't want a relationship. But that goes out the window soon enough, and before he knows it he's in a relationship with sweet Sebastian and loving it.
Overall I really liked this and I should check out more books by this author....more
