Trigger warnings: Panic attack Drugging Kidnapping Degrading Gore Death Violence
Review: I read this book in a few hours and I NEED the next book NOW!!! It was so action packed I constantly felt bad for the characters, they could never have a moment of peace. One thing that bothered me though was the whole mate revelation, it happened WAY too fast. And that their bond was non-existent, GIVE IT BACK-
But aside from that, this book has now taken my heart, cut it into tiny pieces and left them at the bottom of the ocean.
I feel like I’m brain dead from reading this for 7 hours straight on my phone with no breaks. It was totally worth it.
I don’t think I will survive till Blood Lands is released. Until then, I’m going to think about how much this book hurt me daily<3
(Before release date: I KNOW this is going to be amazing, no need to wait giving it 5 stars! I'm literary sitting here WAITING for this to be released, nothing else matters.)...more

I also loved how her friend Anh was putting Olive in Adam’s way and kept shipping them together on the sideline.

Okay so I fell in love with this book, and it is now one of my faves. She may come across as a pick me girl at first but trust me she’s not. The more you read, the more you discover about her and how much pain she has been through and is in.
This book was absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful all in one, some of the scenes in this book hurt me physically, like I’d been punched in the stomach. Every time they were at least a bit happy, or everything was okay I closed the book because I was so scared of anything happening to my loves. I’d literally protect them with my life so they could have each other forever. I couldn’t care less about anything except for their emotional relationship.
I loved their love language, all their small touches that meant so much more. Brushing their noses, forehead kisses, lacing their fingers together, hugs from behind, whispering in each other’s ears. Omg they are the cutest.
It had a slow start but if you are intrigued by the first few chapters, I’d definitely recommend reading it. It only gets better and better from then on. It was like reading pure poetry. I’ve always believed in one thing, and that is soulmates. This book just proves it. This is truly one of my new favorite books I’ll cherish forever....more

First off, this was some deep, deep sh*t and I absolutely LOVED IT. I loved it, and I have no other words. And I'm also shocked, like I can't speak. I just slapped my hand over my mouth so hard I'll probably get a mark-
Don't mind me, I'm just going to stay up all night to read the last book because I have no other choice. But it's fine because I got summer vacation today, so I have nothing to do for 2 months (other than read ofc), yay!...more

The amount of reading notes I’ve written down while reading this… it's overwhelming. This review is going to take me forever to write but I have to get all my thoughts and emotions out, so I guess spoiler warnings?
Before reading:
I read the description after continuously seeing it being hyped up on social media, and realized one of the main characters were Norwegian??? Uhm, I could not for the life of me not read his lines with a Norwegian accent. (If you didn’t know, I’m Norwegian and was officially shocked). I was starstruck as I’ve never even come across the type of books I enjoy where one of the main characters are Norwegian. This was so weird to me, I thought it would never happen but here we are.
Reading notes in timeline:
I was so confused when Rune called his mom and dad “Mamma” and “Pappa” while speaking English. Coincidentally, I lived in Georgia when I was 3 and called my parents mom and dad so expected he would as well. But I guess not.
Not me crying in the first chapter, that was a first. And dauym that boy do be possessive.
When he moves back, and Poppy describes his accent like heavily Norwegian- NO. I’m crying because this is so, so bad. If you don’t understand please go look up “Norwenglish”. It haunts me every day that some Norwegians actually talks like that.
The writing style was kind of weird, I don’t know how to explain it, but I got used to it anyway. The pacing of the book was honestly perfection though.
What really separates this book from other books I’ve read is that with topics of illnesses, we are usually informed from the start that the main character suffers from an illness. Therefore, you can already expect the ending and what the book is going to be about. This book on the other hand presents the topic later on, using it as a tool to flip the plot and make the story so much more different than what you expected. But you need to keep reading because you are already attached to the characters, which made this book so much more devastating.
Norwegian slander (because I can, and I want to):
*cracking knuckles in preparation…*
Some sentences are grammatically correct, but not necessarily something anyone would say- Please, have you heard of slang? No person speaks that formally unless it's a job interview or something. When he spoke Norwegian I was just cracking up and it ruined the whole mood…
The name choice I’m cryinggg- Rune Erik Kristiansen? STOP IT'’S GIVING ME MIDDLE-AGED WHITE MAN VIBES. That’s probably because I’ve had a teacher with graying hair who was white and- You get the picture. I’ve never met a person my age called Rune, that name is reserved for the older generations.
Not the Viking talk, it's like the only major thing “outsiders” know about our culture. It's literary the bare minimum.
Why does Rune have blonde hair and blue eyes?? THE FU**ING STEREOTYPE I- But I guess it's only fair because a lot of them DO be having blue eyes and blonde hair over here. And please, not the long hair- If you have that hair, you would literary get bullied. I’m imagining short hair and no stubble thanks now move along.
“Poppymin” doesn’t really mean “My Poppy” buuut… I’ll let it pass as the nickname is lowkey cute.
But not the literal description of Poppy being; She’s quirky, she’s a different breed, she’s not like other girls. We get it okay, what happened with showing not telling?
“My Norwegian bad boy” girl… sorry to break it to you but there are no bad boys hanging around here except “rånere” which I would strongly advice you to stay away from.
But all in all, I’m very happy with the whole Norwegian part because if he was Danish or Swedish, then no thanks…
After effects:
I DONT EVEN REMEMBER HOW MANY TIMES I CRIED BUT WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT IT WAS TOO MUCH
IT MATTERS NOT WHAT YOUV’E DONE BUT WHAT YOU DO WITH WHAT YOU’VE DONE FOR OTHERS-
I wasn’t even halfway through when I KNEW this book was going to kill me. I’m deceased, I’m numb, I’ve disintegrated, I’M DEAD ON THE FU**ING INSIDE! But to the real question, how do I explain myself when I’m sitting in class bawling my eyes out over fictional characters? I’ll be expecting answers in 3-5 business days and no less thanks.
This book is the definition of heartbreak and beauty, plus fu**ing amazing!! It thought me a life lesson; appreciate the small things that you overlook in life because you never know how much time you have left.
It still gave me trust issues for life though-
Now let me rest in peace while I try to recover from dying....more

I'm in love with this book. There is no other way to describe it. I love both of the main characters, and I ESPECIALLY love the Ugly love crossover. That gave me so much serotonin. Book crossovers are one of the highlights of reading (in my opinion). It just makes the story less fictional and more real. But moreover, the plot twist in itself kind of reminds me of After by Anna Todd. Yeah, THAT book. Though the overall content in this book was way, way, wayyy much better. I'll probably find myself re-reading this one over and over again, it's definitely one of my faves....more

I feel like what I’m about to say is “somewhat” controversial, so remember that this is how I interpreted the book and my own opinion, though feel free to share your own in the comment section <3
This book killed me but I’m back from the dead to write this review. These are my thoughts presented in a chaotic mess, as always:
It was extremely easy to judge Hunter and Tori in the beginning of the book, but when the main characters turned into the people they originally despised I didn’t judge them…? Who am I and why did I not feel the second-hand guilt?
In the first half, Warren was biased, and he should have seen the case from both sides. Though that was difficult because he’s Ridge’s best friend. But it was annoying as h*ll, but excusable.
I’ve read people say that Sydney is annoying, but I don’t agree. Her actions are normal considering the circumstances, though some of them might not be easy to justify. But love is a complicated thing, especially when both sides are toeing the same line. She isn’t responsible for Ridge’s actions that he carried out based off of his feelings. She is however responsible for all she decided to do.
This book is the definition of right-person-wrong-time, just look at the fu*king title: Maybe Someday.
“His eyes study mine for several moments, and the way he’s looking at me makes me hate myself, because I love it so much.”
I- anyways-
Moreover, not me coming to the realization that I’m reading romance for the emotional trauma so I can feel something, and not only for the romance…
I either complain about not connecting with the characters, or I’m too emotionally invested. Because I should be concerned about me sobbing at 3 am staring at 26 letters stocked differently…right?
When I’m reading I’m either looking at it from the outside, like watching a movie, or experiencing it. That means I’m feeling what the characters feel, I’m so invested that I forget I exist. And this happened wile reading this book, so imagine all the heartbreak I’m going through when I haven’t even been in a real relationship myself. It’s overwhelming, to say the least-
Update: I thought the songs weren't there but they actually are and that made me so happy! So go check out Griffin Peterson right now!...more

Their conversations felt so empty, like they’re talking just because- I don’t know how to explain but it was like this in the first half. And kind of cringe writing too.
I feel like the romance developed way too fast, it almost felt rushed. When they were at the lake and he was like: aight time to leave, nice fooling around with you bye- tf. Their emotions gave me whip lash.
The smut in this book WAS good, but sometimes I was confused because the author was like: writing smut = random words put together than sound hot.
I'm in looove with Colleen Hoveer's writing. Just wow. Of course the pregnancy trope made yet another appearance, but I've come to Ugly Love ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm in looove with Colleen Hoveer's writing. Just wow. Of course the pregnancy trope made yet another appearance, but I've come to the realization that I just need to accept it. It's a compromise if I want to continue to read her books, which I will most definitely do. This is by far my fave book I've read in a long time, I'm so excited to read her other books!
