Charming, sweet book! A zookeeper gets sick so his animal friends visit him at home to cheer him up. Not sure I loved the art but the process sounded interesting: woodblock printing techniques and pencil. Kind of gave the book an old-timey look which I didn't really like but was unique and probably other people will enjoy.

Sweet, but not an amazing book. I didn't feel like this is a Caldecott winner, however the nominees weren't my favorites either. Maybe 2011 was a slow picture book year. This was good, just not an over-the-top-amazing winner.
