Book one of the kingdom of wicked series, this book was fantastic I absolutely loved exploring this world of demons and witches. I loved the characters of Emilia and the princes of hell wrath, envy, greed, lust. I loved the murder mystery elements of the book as Emilia desperately seeks answers on her twin sister Vitoria’s murder. This book was highly entertaining and enjoyable book to read with lots of good twists and turns.



Victoria and Emilia are twin sisters and witches they grew up with their Joanna’s stories of the wicked princes of hell and the devil wanting back the power stolen from him. They’re both given amulets to never take of and most importantly never put together but when they’re eight years old Vitoria takes her off and puts it with her sister unknowingly causing effects that would greatly change their lives in the future. Ten years later the girls working at the family restaurant sea and vine, women have been murdered their hearts ripped out. Emilia finds a stranger standing over her sisters dead body and vows revenge. She begins investigating and learns her sister was dabbling in dark arts visits a expert witch Carolina shows her Vitoria disey that has been bespelled and some spells they’re a demon summoning so she does it and finds herself staring at a stranger that was over her sister body a strange bond occurs with matching tattoos he reveals himself as wrath and that he didn’t kill her sister he was there because she had made a deal with his brother but she was dead when he found her. She visits her friend Claudia to try to break the spell on the diary. Emilia learns her sister was going to marry pride to break the curse on him. She meets wrath’s brothers envy and greed who both want her to join their houses. Envy calls her a shadow witch, greed has her sisters amulet claimed she’d given it to him she figures blood unlocks the diary. Turns out the amulets are the devils horns that can open or close the gates of hell but can also summon him and control him. Her nonna is attacked and her amulet stolen goes after the viperidae who is guarding her sisters amulet gets it bank but poisoned by its venom rescued by wrath her saves her. It was an umbra demon that attacked her nonna. She’s a shadow witch because she has demon blood in her. They begin investigating and Claudia’s cousin like her sister and the other women were witches offered to be prides bride but all killed, learns from anir wrath’s messenger reveals that she and wrath have a marriage bond. She releases him and departed but he catches up to her she’s attacked by an aper demon. Finds her bedroom trashed and stays with wrath, she meets lust and falls pray to his influence wrath rescues her. Envy sends a messenger to her he’s holding her family hostage wants the devils horn he’s the traitor. Tells her that wrath lied to her he needs her soul to be Greek feels betrayed she trusted wrath. Her nonna banishes envy and his demons tells her about prophecy twin witches destined to bring the balance between the worlds that she’s been marked by wrath an honour. Tells her the family will go into hiding but she needs to go since they have to try to stop the gates from further weakening demons are already escaping hell. She finds her missing amulet watches wrath get hurt by envy while he protects her. She forced envy to flee. Finds out that her sister found werewolves and they were aligned to greed she was working with greed. Goes to the church her friend Antonio killed her sister because an angel told him she was a witch most likely envy’s doing. She summons the devil and they make a deal she’s going to be his bride but it’s wrath who is remarkably more colder to her that arrives and takes her to hell after she signs a contract because she’s going after all the players involved in her sisters death.
