There were just too many little things that were thrown in and then never followed up on. The whole "we're going to fight for you and the winner gets you" was a little too caveman-ish for me. I don't feel like Xavier really got a fair shot at all with this book and while Ryder is super-hot especially in Dom mode, it just felt like he didn't explain himself well. And what is with the anal with no lube!? Just didn't enjoy it...it felt very forced....more

Oh, yeah, did I mention that Gavin has handcuffs and doesn't mind using them? Yeah, mmmphm, it's hot. If you like guy on guy action, this is a must-read. And there are emotions there. Big ones. It's just an awesome read with a nice plot and for being so short, you get a really good look at both histories of both men to see why they are who they are. Wonderful book!...more

There wasn't a huge amount of lead-up to the relationship starting, so if you like those menages where it starts right from the beginning, this is a great book for you. The description of the clothing and the settings was very picturesque and indulgent, so much so that the reader can actually almost see it in their head, and the scene where Cyn hits subspace (that's all I will say, I don't want to give anything away) is one of the best ones I've ever read about a sub reaching subspace. It was a very, very good book about BDSM (on the light end of the spectrum) and a totally steamy hot menage. Definitely a great one to go on the favorites list!...more

I will be starting part 2 immediately and just so you know, if you don't like books that end on a cliffhanger, well...let's just say I was glad to see that Infraction is already out because I'll be reading it ASAP. These characters are incredibly complex and damaged and have found what they want in each other...but can they get past their dark pasts and their inner angst to let themselves go and be happy with each other? That is the very question of this book. Nathan is probably the dirtiest filthiest talker I've EVER read about (even worse than Tack, KA fans) so of course, that is a quite enjoyable aspect of this book. The sex is incredibly hot and there is such a story there with Nathan's past...I wish I could Google it and find out like he was telling all of Delilah's friends to do to find out about him before passing judgement. We got to find out Delilah's past...I hope Nathan's past is coming in book 2. The setting and backdrop of this book is very solid and original, which is very key to a great book...the book is set in Indianapolis at a law firm which employs a strict no fraternization policy, which Nathan and Delilah breach almost immediately since they are shoved into a tiny office together as co-attorneys working on transactional and contract law and can't deny the magnetic pull that they feel. It gets worse from there when they realize that they live in the same apartment building three floors apart. There's so much more to this story and I can't wait to read more. Definitely a GREAT story and a wonderful beginning to a captivating trilogy....more

Don't get me wrong, lots of hot sex is a great thing to read about, but I was actually really interested in the mystery/crime/thriller aspect of the book, not to mention that I love books set in New Orleans, and this one just felt like every time it turned the corner to another aspect in the plot, BAM! These two were screwing again! So three stars for me. Entertaining, but fell a little into the "totally hot, no plot" category in my brain. I enjoyed Ruined a lot more....more

I may skim Molly’s Lips: Club Mephisto Retold out of curiosity but this book with the edging and the anal training and the caging and the chastity harness just absolutely did nothing for me in any way shape or form. If it hadn't been safe, sane and consensual (the last being very DUBIOUS on the consensual), I don't think I could have finished it. Word to the wise...process with extreme caution. This one, surprisingly to me, fits both categories. Neither of the first two books really hangs on a dire cliffhanger where you are left with your chin on the covers going, "WTF just happened?" However, there is enough of a carrot that you just have to read more. And I did...I read all three books back to back. As a whole, I would give this trilogy four stars. It was QUITE refreshing (especially since I just read about Ava and Jesse in This Man) to read about a couple with the same sort of dynamic but that isn't absolutely insane. Yes, Damien has some control issues and is very dominating...but he realizes it and tries very, very hard to rein it in. At one point, he even said that he didn't want to be the guy that kept Nikki from her friends. Every time he does something to interfere with Nikki's life and she calls him on it, he actually listens to what she has to say, apologizes and tries not to do it again. And she on the other hand doesn't dwell and mope on it but instead moves on and teases him about it. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I heard that the female character in this book was a cutter since quite frankly, I don't know that much about it...but what an eye-opening educational experience these books were. Nikki is a LOT stronger than she gives herself credit for. Anyone with an anxiety disorder will be the first to tell you that the first major step is to recognize that you do HAVE a problem. And watching her go through this story and all the things that she had to face...it was truly amazing.
Claim Me was...nothing short of intense. Evelyn said it best..."That’s okay, Texas. The drama always increases in the second act." Very, very true and if you have read enough of these trilogies, you know that to be true. The reader finds out more about Damien's secrets and why he is fighting so hard to keep them a secret from Nikki. The sex is elevated to a phenomenal plateau. And while there ARE more secrets, you also find out more about what Damien treasures and holds dear. The story about the Ray Bradbury books really touched me. How everyone rallied around her after THE SECRET came out was amazing. And the ending? All I can say is YOU GO GIRL and KICK SOME ASS, TEXAS!!!! Four solid stars.

Ella Dominguez is a true master of the art form of erotic literature. As gritty and intense as this book was throughout, she captured the true essence of the D/s relationship with all of the intense emotions and attachment that go along with it. It is a tearjerker. I ended it feeling like I had been flung against the wall. The emotions are so real...right down to almost feeling like you are in subspace with Isa and coming down with her. And what better backdrop for this emotional ride than Paris? I thought that the switch of POVs was so smooth and introducing Sawyer's POV really was such an interesting viewpoint. This book was written so well...this is definitely a trilogy in a class of its own. ...more

Complete Me picks up right after the BIG REVEAL (and I'm not saying what) comes out, and Damien and Nikki's love is tested like never before....until later when it is tested again. And I'm not saying any more than that, because if you read the first two books, the ending will alternately shock the crap out of you and touch you like nothing has in these books to date. I want so much to say more, but to say more would ruin the surprise and I know a lot of you that read my reviews just can't help but click the "view spoiler" button. I will say this. Damien and Nikki are a completely different couple than the other FSOG couples out there....like Christian and Ana, Eva and Gideon, Ava and Jesse, Brynne and Ethan. These two are about the closest that you can get to normal in this type of dynamic relationship where the chemistry is so intense and unreal. And the reality...is what makes them who they are.

Hmm...not so much in THIS book. Scott treated Aiden horribly. I cringed so many times reading the book at the cruel and sadistic treatment that Aiden voluntarily endured...the mind games, the humiliation, the debasement and worst of all, the final night where Aiden safe words...and Scott ignores him. And then, Keaton is there to pick up the pieces. It is a very tragically sad book of how a rape victim recovers and goes through post-traumatic stress after such an event...along with all the self-esteem issues, the self-blame, the lashing out, you name it. It was written exceptionally well and was very riveting to read, even if the subject matter was not exactly a pleasant one. Excellent story....more

SO. NOT. THE. CASE. There is SO much depth to Sam. There is so much character to Sam! I absolutely loved him as a Dom! The title was absolutely perfect for this book...worked for both Sam as he was putting himself out there for Linda and also for Linda as she struggled and worked to come to terms with the fact that yes, she is a true blue masochist. This book really takes a different look at BDSM on the S & M side...it's not for the faint of heart at all but it is definitely sane, safe and consensual all the way through...not to mention HOT. The plot is really, really good and I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning reading. What I did find funny was the overuse of toys and implements...it was almost as if Ms. Sinclair went on the Adam and Eve site and her favorite BDSM toy site and said, "hmm...how can I incorporate EVERY TOY IN EXISTENCE into this book?" I'm not even kidding...the only toy I could think of that was not featured in this book in some way shape or form was Ben Wa balls. Quite entertaining to read for sure. And of course, all the characters from the past books make an appearance...Jessica and Z get married, Raoul and Kim support Linda as she recovers from her ordeal, Nolan is working on Sam's stable and scares the crap out of Linda with his scarred and dark face, etc, etc, etc. There are so many funny parts to this book that I found myself laughing out loud. The Shadowlands family is quite something...and I hope that we get to keep reading about them because with every book, there are more and more characters that get involved. I really hope Sally gets her own book...that girl NEEDS a Dom and clearly Galen and Vance want the job. LOL What gave this a five-star rating for me was the close look at what is going through a sadist's mind and what is going through a masochist's mind. There is someone for everyone out there, and these two were clearly a great fit. Wonderful, wonderful addition to the series....more

There are parts of this book that are frankly shocking and a little far-fetched, even for an alien series, which is why I gave it four instead of five. The whole obsession with sex on Yonnie Six was just a little too twisted and weird, but if you suspend disbelief just a little bit and just go with it, it's a pretty erotic tale indeed. One of my favorite parts was when Draven plays his fun at the end and Merrick and Saber have their heart to heart talk at the bar which ends up in the HEA after for Lissa and Saber. This series is just fan-freaking-tastic and if you have not tried it yet, I don't know what you are waiting for....more

What a total cray cray mess filled with drama from page one all the way until the end. At least Dylan and Isa recognize that it's nothing but drama from beginning to end. I did not like this book's Dylan as much as I liked the Dylan in the first book, although I will agree that once she finally safe worded at the cabin, he really redeemed himself...so...if anyone reading this book is really hating this guy and wanting to take him out back and beat the crap out of him like I was, hang on until she utters the word "cayenne". I will not lie. The edge play made me extremely uncomfortable and really pushed my boundaries, as well as the human furniture objectification, the name calling, and the humiliation and degradation. All I can think is that the whole Erika issue must have really pushed Dylan's inner Dom up to the surface, and once that was out of the way and she truly submitted to him, he realized it wasn't what he wanted after all. As for Isa, my eyes were bugging out with how she was allowing him to treat her...and it was not exactly consensual...but thank GOODNESS her inner bitch Domme finally came out and she laid down the law. There is so much WRONG in this book, but these two really are each other's soulmates when they aren't beating the crap out of each other and screwing each other's brains out, they are completely and totally in love with each other and can't live without the other and yes, I am looking forward to book three!!! The absolutely best part of this book: (view spoiler)[at 85%, Dylan takes Isa to Denver's BDSM club and she happens to pass by Erika in a scene with her new Dom. How she got her new Dom to agree to let her, we'll never know, but the scene where she whips Erika, grabs her snatch, and makes her publicly apologize to Dylan is awesome...and then even gets FUNNIER when Erika approaches Dylan about CRUSHING on Isa, wanting to let Isa whip and discipline her some more and actually have a threesome with those two is just....hilarious. (hide spoiler)] Excellent writing and a WONDERFUL sequel to the second book. I still want to take Dylan out back and kick his ass, but Isa loves him and that's all that matters.

All set in the same crappy south Texas town, all set within the same few-months time frame. I love pretty much anything Maya writes, so of course, I liked this one as well, but you can REALLY tell that this was one of her earlier works. Above all, and I know this is nit-picky, but I have never seen so many anal sex scenes with no lube. And such a blatant disregard for condoms, especially with Jack and Mia. The story was really great. You so rarely get to see a menage develop like this where one of the guys decides he wants the girl for keeps and it takes the other guy a while to catch up. It was really, REALLY different and refreshing to read. There were no FSOG aspects to it. The action in Jack and Mia's story was really compelling. This book kept me up until 5 am reading, so it definitely held my attention. The settings in the small Texas town were very descriptive, and while I can't for a million years understand why Maya sent them to GALVESTON of all places (seriously, Maya, you're a Texas girl, you know Galveston is gross!) it was very descriptive with the talk about the seawall and the muddy waters, and to me, setting is really crucial as I like to feel like I am there with the characters when I read. Very, very hot, although the sex scenes could have really benefited with a nice big bottle of Astroglide. All I could think of when I was reading the scenes where Kit was getting nailed in the pucker was OUCH. ...more
