Rally by Devney Perry was so unexpected! These characters and their journey throughout the story touched my heart.
Faye is broke and struggling to make ends meet. The day she gets a flat tire in the middle of the woods and receives help from Rush Ramsey, is the day her life changes forever.
Rush Ramsey is the star quarterback of the Wildcats at Treasure State University. He's pursuing his dream of playing for the NFL. Meeting Faye, is refreshing for him. Finally, there's a girl who has no idea who he is!
When they reconnect, their one night together results in a surprised pregnancy. Things get challenging and they must rally, working and growing together. Their chemistry is also magnetic as you can feel the push and pull between these two through the pages.
Rally will make you shed some tears. There were lots of emotions and I just loved it so much!! This one quickly turned into a favorite read and I'm so excited for Maverick's book next!!

It is 1 in the morning and I'm lying here thinking about what to write. Welcome to the Dark Side just took all my words and rode out into the night.
This book consumed me. I didn't want to put it down and if I did, I'd jump right back in.
You'll never meet a heroine more fierce, resilient, or sweet as Loulou. She was an absolute warrior and it only took a few pages to fall in love with her! Then we have Zeus. Daddy Zeus. As my bestie said, "f*cking perfection in manform" and I couldn't agree more. #GarroGirl
The beginning of Zeus and Loulou's story was sweet and innocent. He was her savior and best friend and over the years, she never forgets her "guardian monster". Their love grew and developed with time. Even their 19 year age-gap and Zeus' inner conflict during the time when Lou was untouchable, could not abate their chemistry as the pull was simply undeniable. It was kismet.
Gosh, this book left me such an emotional wreck. I was a breathless, sobbing mess. But, poetic justice was served in the end. Each book seems to pack a serious punch at every turn and I'm not surprised at how quickly this series is becoming one of my favorites! Now, bring on my girl HR's book with her very own western hero, Lionel Danner *giddy*....more

The hero, Donovan, isn't you're typical alpha hero. He isn't arrogant or a womanizer. He's sweet and patient. He fights for what he wants and has a heart of gold.
Then we have Autumn, she's the tortured character in this story. Her tragic past has prevented her from trusting men and has left her unable to open herself up to them. She's continuously just casually dated; no strings attached... until she meets Donovan.
This story deals with sensitive topics that could be triggers for some readers. Donovan and Autumn's story is challenging and didn't come easy. This time it's the heroine in the storyline that is extremely closed off and runs scared.
I loved that no matter what Donovan never lost hope even through the pain Autumn may have caused. He didn't give up on her or their love. There's an undeniable spark from the very first moment they meet and you can't help be lured in by Donovan's character alone.
As always, you can count on Vi to deliver a story filled with emotion, angst, and heartwarming moments—The Spark was no different!

Happily Letter After filled me over the brim with so much emotion!! Once again, Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, one of my favorite writing duos captivated me from page one, leaving me completely enamored!!
Sadie is a writer for a magazine. Her next piece will chronicle the many disastrous dates she's been on. But one day she receives a letter through the column's Holiday Grant Wishes correspondence that changes the course of her life! Sadie feels an instant connection with a little girl named Birdie who believes she's writing to Santa. From that moment on, Sadie does everything in her power to make some of Birdie's wishes come true.
Soon things get out of hand, like pretending to be dog trainer. Though, I couldn't help but laugh to myself in those moments. Ultimately, Sadie and Sebastian are brought together by fate.
Sebastian is such a dedicated and hard working man. His daughter is his world but it hasn't been easy raising her on his own. When Sadie comes into the picture, not only does Birdie get someone but Sebastian also opens up his heart again.
Happily Letter After was such a touching story with heartfelt moments. There's slow burn, second chance after a loss, and those sweet and sexy scenes we all love!! This is definitely a book I would recommend to hit you right in the feels!

Two best friend's that blur the line of friendship as they venture into a deep love...
"Sean is home. He’s comfort and the sunshine that breaks through the clouds. He’s laughter in the rain and the constant in a sea of uncertainty."
Corinne Michaels takes us back to the small town of Sugarloaf but this time we're immersed in Sean and Devney's story.
Such passion exists between Sean Arrowood and Devney Maxwell. But Devney has some secrets holding her back, secrets she's never shared with Sean, which ends up causing some major tension in their relationship.
For the first time in his life, Sean questions his love for baseball. But with Devney's presence in his life, he's able to overcome a tragedy. Devney, too, overcomes tradegy and both characters display lots of growth.
One of my favorite aspects of this series is the dynamics between the Arrowood Brothers as well as their back and forth banter. Their brotherhood is undeniable, unbreakable, and completely unforgettable!
A beautiful heartfelt love story, The One for Me will have you laughing and crying. I'm really looking forward to Jacob's book, the youngest brother. You know what they say, saving the best for last.
“The boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can't have.”
Hello book hangover, haven't seen you in awhile. My mind is still trying to process this wonderful book. It was so much more than a romance. It was empowering with clear cut messages. Kennedy Ryan is revolutionary! She writes about topics that are important and need to be addressed in today's society. Topics about race, education, women's health, women's rights, and politics. Kennedy is without question changing the writing game.
Queen Move is one of those books that will put you through the ringer. There is so much that happens for Ezra and Kimba to finally be together and when they do reconnect again... Its EPIC!!! Their love endured and truly transcended time.
"We were born on the same day. I’m not overly religious, and I’m not sure what I believe about other lives, other worlds, and other dimensions. I do know if soul mates are real, Kimba is mine. I believe that if people are “created,” we were made together."
Together their passion was undeniable. As individuals they've both paved their own paths in the world. Kimba is a fierce queen who knows what she wants and will stop at nothing until she gets it. Ezra is an ambitious, confident, and strong man whose overcome obstacles in his youth. I love his devotion to shaping young minds and making a change in their lives.
Queen Move will have you thinking days after finishing. It was different from the All the King's Men duet but equally empowering and important, both tackling real life issues. I loved the blended families and mixing of cultures. This book will stick with you!
I'm hoping Mona gets her book!! Thank you so much, Kennedy.
“I don’t just want you when you’re strong. I want you when you’re vulnerable, when you’re lost, when you’re not sure. I see the armor you have to put on to make it in your world. I just want you to know here, with me, you can take the armor off.”

Fight for Me by Corinne Michaels was an emotional second chance romance. Our two characters were childhood sweethearts who provided comfort and shelter to the other when they needed it the most.
Sydney is at a loss to why Declan left her eight years ago. She thought they would have a future together and that they would conquer any obstacle that came their way together. Now, this is where I find the Arrowood men to be a bit hardheaded. They let their pride win over forgiveness. Sydney wanted Declan to fight for her at any cost but Declan was stubborn and misguided in his reasons for wanting to protect her.
The chemistry between Declan and Sydney is palpable. No matter how much they fought it, they couldn't resist the connection they shared. Not only can you see but you can feel how much they love each other with everything they had.
This book was such a rollercoaster ride. You'll experience their relationship in the present and the past. You'll see two broken characters. Honestly, I loved Declan and Sydney's story but it wasn't an easy love story. My rating is solely based on the timeline. I felt like it took too long for them to finally be together, and because of this I didn't get to really enjoy them being together again. Simply put, I needed more. I needed Declan to really fight for Sydney like she was for him.
Second chance stories are one of my kryptonites when it comes to romance tropes. I just love a good angsty, gut-wrenching read. Corinne definitely did not disappoint with this one.
You don't want to miss the Arrowood Brothers! One or all of them will steal your heart. I'm ready for Sean and Devney's story next!

Dirty Letters by the charismatic writing duo Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland was one of those standalones that you soon won't forget.
As always these two ladies never disappoint when it comes to their book covers and this one was by far my favorite. ViP (Vi & Penelope) really shone the light on mental health, bringing awareness to anxiety/agoraphobia. It is debilitating and a daily struggle and we witness it first hand in our heroine, Luca.
Luca is 25 and faces the daunting task of driving from Vermont to Manhattan to clear out her father's apartment whom has recently passed. She has a set schedule and brings her theparist along to accompany her. Its whilst she's going through her father's mail that she discovers a letter from Griffin, her old pen pal from elementary school. They remained friends and wrote each other everyday until they were 17. After Luca's traumatic accident, she stopped writing him. It's been 8 years and Luca feels regretful and wants to make amends. She decides to reply back just hoping Griffin will find it in his heart to forgive her.
That's how our story begins. Griffin reconnects with his old and dear friend. Unbeknownst to Luca, Griffin isn't your average Joe, he's actually a very famous musician. Will the fame and spotlight put an end to their relationship?
I struggled to connect with Luca which was one of the reasons I dropped a star. But Griffin, I couldn't get enough of him and his sexiness. An equally emotional journey, Dirty Letters is such a sweet and endearing romance that will have you shedding a tear or two along the way. I recommend it 100%!

The Dugout by Meghan Quinn was a hit! It was a mix of humor, angst, bromance, love, and baseball ⚾.
Carson Stone was by far my favorite hero from Meghan's books thus far and that's making a statement as I've loved most of her heroes. But Carson, gah there is just something about him that will steal your heart completely!
Carson is first introduced in The Locker Room. He's Knox's best friend and an overall hilarious man. In this book he is more than laughs, he's sweet and really just an amazing fictional being!
Then we have Milly Potter probably one of the best heroines. This girl is a nut. She lives for baseball. Is smart, funny, and awkward. She also has her dorky moments that will leave you snickering at her antics.
Together, Milly and Carson were everything! Their romance was inspirational. I couldn't help falling in love with them. Though an emotional wreck towards the end, I found I really just loved this book so much! Carson goes through some dark moments that change him and as a reader witnessing it is truly heartbreaking (cue the tears) ...more
Park Avenue Player by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland was magical! Another phenomenal story by this dynamic duo!
Hollis LaCroix is a brooding, uptight jerk. And he had to be drop dead sexy, right? Indeed! However, life has thrown him lots of punches. Now, he's the guardian of his 11 year-old niece, Hailey (love her).
Elodie Atlier is smart, sassy, funny, and blunt. She balances Hollis' and his many different moods. She's also the nanny to Hailey. The pair develop a special bond and friendship. But, Elodie is jaded from her past relationship and doesn't think true love will find her.
Elodie and Hollis meet in the most unconventional way.; they get into a fender bender. Moments later it turns out Elodie is the one being interviewed to be Hailey's nanny. Lots of sexual tension and attraction follow, along with some crazy and funny moments. Be ready for the cameo of a certain goat ...more
Life and Other Inconveniences by Kristan Higgins was powerful, gripping, and utterly gut wrenching!
Emma London hasn't been back to Connecti4.5 STARS!
Life and Other Inconveniences by Kristan Higgins was powerful, gripping, and utterly gut wrenching!
Emma London hasn't been back to Connecticut in 17 years. Her grandmother, Genevieve is dying and wants her to come home. They haven't talked in more than a decade, the last time they did things didn't end well. This is the same grandmother who raised her at the age of 8 but lacked showing her any love and affection. She was always told to mind her manners and act proper. Everything changes when Emma gets pregnant at 18 and she's kicked out and completely cut off.
Genevieve is a regal, proper, lady of society. Once a former high-end fashion designer (she reminded me of Miranda Priestly from the Devil Wears Prada), she refuses to accept dying alone, so she seeks Emma out to apologize for her past behavior and she wants the chance to meet her great granddaughter, Riley.
We get to meet this family and get to know them. It's beautiful yet heartbreaking with a realistic feel to the overall plot. Each character's life is intertwined. Four generations of women empowerment, growth, and change. By the last page of this book, I could honestly say I learned a lot about these characters and I was sad to say goodbye. Being from Connecticut myself, I would love to take a trip to the beautiful town of Stoningham.
Life and Other Inconveniences was my first read by this author and I can say with certainty it will not be my last. A story about life, love, loss, hurt, and lies, this book took me on a journey. You get to see a lot of family dynamics and it's told through both main and secondary characters points-of-view. This is a very emotional novel that will make you cry a lot and Kristan conveys emotion spectacularly, executing it perfectly. Page-turning and hard to put down, I recommend this to all readers who love women's fiction and contemporary books!!

Riven Knight, book 2 in Devney Perry'sTin Gypsy series was such an emotionally charged book from start to finish! If you thought Gypsy King was suspenseful, then you must read this one.
Riven Knight picks up right where Gypsy King left off and we finally discover what really happened on the mountain.
Genevieve Daylee is thrusted into the chaotic world of the former Tin Gypsies MC. She feels lonely and betrayed by her own mother. Marrying Isaiah is not only his saving grace but hers as well. As the story progresses, Genevieve learns to love Clifton Forge and soon she shows just how much of her father's daughter she truly is as she's willing to fight for her new family no matter the cost.
"Isaiah wasn’t mine to keep forever. Eventually he’d move on to find someone who made him truly happy. The selfish part of me loathed the idea of a different, future Mrs. Reynolds who’d get more than subtle grins."
Isaiah Reynolds is a broken, tortured man that battles many demons from his past. It was so heartbreaking watching him struggle to not give himself a chance at love and happiness. Underneath all the loss and pain lays such a beautiful and enigmatic man.
"Ever since Genevieve Daylee had entered my life, the order and simplicity I craved and found had vanished."
Genevieve and Isaiah were two broken pieces of a puzzle that fit. It was such a beautiful relationship to watch transform. A slow burn romance that required a lot of patience and strength. When Isaiah tried to pull away Genevieve would stand her ground and push back. What began as a lie slowly turned into love.
"Isaiah looked in the mirror and saw everlasting broken pieces, but maybe my broken pieces would fit with his. Together, maybe we’d make a whole."
Overall, what a freakin' ride, you guys and we're only in book 2!! There's so many thrills and layers to be peeled back with these wonderful and amazing characters and I'm 1000% ready to enjoy it all!!

Two people bound by grief. Two people who can never be together. Two people who need each other more than ever.
Baby Mine by Kennedy Fox was sweet, forbidden, and filled with so much angst it overflows at times!
My heart goes out to Hunter as his poor heart was put through the shredder. His unrequited feelings were palpable. He was a man of many masks, always putting up a brick wall or being a complete jerk in order to fight his emotions towards Lennon at every turn.
Baby Mine was heartbreaking and tragic as well. The loss of Brandon hit hard for these two characters. However, it connected them on a much deeper level. Brandon's passing influenced Hunter to put down the gloves, stop the fighting, and the childish bickering. In a way, it made him the man Lennon needed because he begins to stand up for her, protects her, and takes care of her. These actions allowed a true friendship to transpire, and Hunter and Lennon soon become best friends.
But, things take a turn. Lennon discovers she's pregnant with Brandon's baby. Hunter is once again reminded of how he can't have Lennon 😭. Lines begin to blur. Things start to spice up a bit, even though they both continue to fight it! The sexual tension is at an all time high y'all 🔥.
So, why did I rate it so low? It had predictable moments. Unnecessary drama. Lennon's interest in Hunter and then her quick connection/hook-up with Brandon threw me off. And let's not forget the cliffy at the end. Beware, is all I'm going to say besides I now need to know how Hunter and Lennon's story will end!
P.S. I'm dying for Liam and Maddie's story! They might just be my faves 💜

When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton takes place in Palm Beach, Florida. The year is 1960. One year ago, the Perez family was exiled from their beloved home country of Cuba. This story explores Beatriz's side. The heartbreaker. The socialite who will stop at nothing to try and kill Castro and regain entry to her home.
We watch Beatriz fall in love and get her heartbroken. The forbidden love affair she had with the Senator, Nicholas Randolph Preston III was beautiful and tumultuous. Not the happiest love story but not the saddest either for love can last forever. These two prove it!
We also witness her growth and see the tides of change through her eyes. Beatriz comes to realize that she may not have been able to save Cuba like she wanted, but she was brave and fought for other injustices in the world. She never married. She never had children. She traveled the world, making the world her oyster as she made a name for herself. She's the embodiment of #GirlPower ✊🏼
Also, it needs to be said that Chanel is a genius. The way she weaves fiction with real historical events and people is truly magical! I was sucked in and utterly captivated! Once again, I was transported back in time.
These stories Chanel has penned are timeless and heartwarming. My first historical fiction reads, they planted a seed for me to continue to explore this newfound genre. Another job well done by Chanel! Take me to Cuba, please 🇨🇺.
