Yasmeen Michaels’ first hours of life were spent nestled in a cloud of dirty blankets on the front stoop of an orphanage in the Bronx. Even though rejection and loneliness peppered her life, she still fought hard enough to step out of her past a free, independent woman with a bright future ahead of her. Darkness descends when a shocking ripple in the organized crime world sends a grieving Romanian mobster back into her life. Yasmeen wakes to find herself in a centuries-old castle in Romania; claimed not as Lucian Fane’s lover…but as his pet.

Lucian Fane is at ease in his place of power. He unapologetically lords over his business empire right alongside his criminal one. But when tragedy dares to cross his threshold, Lucian is sent into a tailspin and soon finds himself toeing the line between sanity and freedom. With his conscience gone, and in a bid to save his city from his wrath, he plucks an exquisite distraction from her world and tucks her away in his. Only then does he allow his demons free reign.

Even as Yasmeen once more finds herself fighting to hold onto her self-worth, the draw towards the darkness soon becomes too strong to resist. Will she be able to hold tight to her new owner as he freely drifts beyond her reach? Or will Lucian surface long enough to realize he’s pushing his precious pet too far to allow for forgiveness?

**ATTN: This book is the first part of Lucian and Yasmeen's story. It DOES NOT have a HEA. The completion of their story will come in book 7 in the Wanted Men series, scheduled for release in 2017.

This book was not for me. Not. At. All. I don't know what it is I just read, but if I really get started it's going to turn into an unpleasant rant. Apparently I'm in the minority with my feelings so don't judge by my rating. If you think you'll like the "hero" treating the woman as is she's his animal fuck toy (whether she likes it or not) with not a shred of remorse, then go for it. There's so much wrong with this story I don't know where to start. Frankly, I was offended. His cruelty and disregard for her as a human being was beyond wrong. I'm just going to leave it at that.

5 Brutal Grieving Stars!!

Lucian Fane has lost his beloved little brother Markus, and now his inner demons are demanding vengeance. Knowing that he will destroy everything in his path, deserving or not, Lucian needs to get his demons under control and to do that he needs the only thing that can distract him…..Yasmeen. Lucian is a man used to being in control, and seeing his inconsolable grief was heartbreaking.

Yasmeen Michaels grew up going from one horrible foster home to another. She fought for a better life she attended college, earned her degree, and is exactly where she wants to be. She has her dream job working at a prestigious art gallery, and a couple of close college friends that have become her family.

 photo PicsArt_1469858537233_zpsynxxyxlh.jpg

When she attends Marcus’s funeral she reconnects with Lucian, whom she spent one memorable night with two years earlier. Next thing you know she finds herself drugged, kidnapped and living in a Romania…in a freaking castle!! Lucian turns Yasmeen into “his pet” which brings out her feisty side as she attempts to reason with him.

 photo PicsArt_1470034992185_zpshqnpftgc.jpg

Once Lucian explains his intentions and her role, Yasmeen, in an attempt to comfort him and his demons tries to conform. While Yasmeen tries to ease Lucian's pain in any way she can, she knows that she loves him just as much as she fears him, she also knows he’ll never commit to her, and once is demons are appeased he’ll send her away.

This is a dark erotic romance and not a book I would normally read, I don’t do “dark” reads, but, I stepped out of my comfort zone because it’s Nancy Haviland and part of her Wanted Men series there is NO WAY I would pass it up!! And I have to say I truly loved it and yet I hated some of the cruel things Lucian said and did to Yasmeen to distance himself from her, but I truly understood why he did them, which is the difference between the “dark” romances I’ve (attempted) to read in the past and this one. In Grievous the characters and their emotions are the focal point, not the dark.

*This story does NOT have a HEA, it’s actually the prequel to Yasmeen and Lucian's book (no release date as of yet).

Were you looking for a mafia/crime book, then you came to the wrong place. This book is about Lucian having a mental breakdown due to his little brother's murder. He wants to massacre all of NYC and decides that if he kidnaps Yasmeen he'll be able to cope and not go on a killing spree.

Yasmeen was a one night stand from two years ago and nicely came to the funeral, unfortunately that put her back on Lucian's radar. She's kidnapped and at first not happy about it, but then she accepts he needs help + is super attracted to him and decides to give in to being his sex slave.

The whole book is about Lucian being an asshole douchebag and using Yasmeen horribly. He not only uses her sexually, he also is verbally abusive. He's a horrible person and justifies it all by saying it's better he's a shit to Yasmeen than go on a killing spree.

I hated both of these characters. Yasmeen should've been trying to kill him off and escape vs thinking this is a great vacation.

This story started off wonderfully strong, ambitious, and promising!! But it seems that this series has taken on a new direction and I approached this book in the wrong way. I expected some action, deliberations with the Tarasovs, romance, and I expected to see a gory Lucian Fane avenge his loved one's death! But this book wasn't even about all of that, so while I was disappointed and highly tempted to send this book to the DNF pile, I trudged along with this story because Lucian Fane's character has been a curiosity factor of mine for some time and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. But when the story remained stagnant at the forty percent mark, I resigned myself to go with the flow and try to understand the author's voice, as well as the character's anguish. But really and truly? I got played...

 photo image_zpsce8ayslo.gif

In the prior book, Fane promised to show no mercy when he retrieved the murderer responsible for sending his life into a tailspin, but there was little showing and more telling of his actions. Returning to his mother country, his intention is to drown his sorrows in the body of Yasmeen Michaels, a woman he'd become fixated on for two years. With her "consent," Fane submerges himself in sex to control the grief so capable of consuming him and driving him to absolute rage. That storyline wasn't even what bothered me about this book, though. What bothered me to no end was the language used! I kept thinking: who talks like this, and how am I going to get through this long-@ss book if this is the way it's written?

 photo image_zps13wz0j6u.gif

I had difficulty enjoying this story because the dialogue was too distracting and pet names tend to irk me (unless used sparingly), made even worse in this book because Fane refers to Yasmeen as his "pet." Frequently. In his thoughts and aloud. That term (the singular form) is used 133 times in this book...

 photo image_zpsmcpbqza7.gif

While Lucian Fane's dialogue aired on the formal side in the prior books, I didn't love it in this story. And although I had high hopes for Yasmeen's character, she seemed more appealing in the former book, but not in this one. She projected strength and substance at the start of this story, but once Fane began blowing her back out on a regular, her brain seemed to dissolve, never to regain common sense again. To some degree, she wanted to become his prisoner (under the reasoning that she was helping him grieve) and turned into a weak, easily manipulated, fragile woman who made excuses for his every breath. Essentially, she melted into a puddle of uselessness once the two became isolated.

What is this story about? Sex, harsh words exchanged, hidden feelings, emotional games, repeat. I thought this excerpt from the book summed up this story in a nutshell:

He saw her as an object to fuck. To tease. To control. To lead around and call pet. He saw himself above her. He considered himself her owner. He saw her as nothing but a release.
And, her, being the desperate, lonely girl who craved contact and just wanted to be wanted, had fallen irrevocably and utterly in love with every side of him he’d allowed her to see. The powerful billionaire. The unfeeling bastard. The madman. The erotic commander. The gentleman.

The last thirteen percent of this book is where I treasured the storyline! Fane begins to accept an emotional transition triggered by hearing his dead loved one speak into his thoughts, but then the story doesn't continue because there's a book two soon to be released next year...

I sincerely hope that other readers will enjoy reading this story! Although it wasn't my favorite in this series, I'm hoping the next book will SLAY me! Tis all.

Grievous, Lucian Fane's story, is my favorite in this series! Lucian Fane, the Dark Dom, is like no other. Many attempt to emulate, but zero can duplicate because there is only ONE Dark Dom.
Born and raised in Romania in a cold and loveless home after his father's murder, Lucian does not possess or rather is unable to express the most simple emotions. He views everything in a cold, methodical, business-like manner. His inability to connect on an emotional level deteriorates further after his last living sibling is murdered.

Enters his obsession, a flawless beauty from Brooklyn, Yasmeen Michaels. Lucian recognize immediately Yasmeen is the only person who can prevent him from wreaking grief-stricken havoc on anyone remotely connected to his brother, Markus. Lucian decide to "acquire" Yasmeen until "he's better". Easy peasy right? Ha! Everyone knows a Brooklyn girl is as tough as nails...

Yasmeen is not impressed with the Dark Dom or his money. She is more than a match for this sexy brooding Romanian! As Lucian uses every trick in his arsenal to keep his pet satiated, he's too blind by grief to see the obvious. Will Lucian see past his grief before it's too late?

I absolutely love this story! Set in Romania at Lucian's castle, the scenes are expertly written, the characters are fabulous and well developed, and the history shared in their story add depth and realistic insight into this beautiful country and its culture. Well done Nancy!

4.5 stars.

It took me a while to write this review because I didn't know what to say. I liked the book and have no issues with it but my feelings are a mess after that last chapter.

Lucian is suffering from the death of his little brother and the only family member he had left. He feels a hunger for blood and revenge but knows he can't bring the world down so he looks for a distraction, something to calm him and keep him from doing what his demons demand. His distraction is Yasmeen so he kidnaps her.

Yas has being attracted to Lucian since she first met him two years ago and had a one night stand with him. She wants to help soothe the pain she can see in Lucian so even though she's mad and confused about the kidnapping she decides not to fight it. Much.

I was so mad at Yasmeen sometimes because she was supposed to be a smart woman, she lived in the streets and has seen the bad in the world but boy was she naive and even a little wishy washy.

Lucian was infuriating! It was so hard to stay mad at him because he was so broken and trying not to be but I wanted to slap the sht out of him. I think Lucian is the first guy in this series that can be seen as a bad guy which is weird 'cause they are all made men. But with other guys you only see them trying to protect their families and not the ugly side of things, in Lucian case he was so done with the everything that he showed what being a made men is all about. They are not good guys.
That said, he wasn't evil. He just walked in the gray area.

This book was a little bit more adventurous in the sex area because like I said, Lucian is just darker. There's some pet play and light D/s.

Somethings are frustrating BUT this is only the prequel to L&Y's story so there's going to be character growing. Lucian needs to let go of his pain and accept the future and Yasmeen needs to grow a backbone. I'm very curious about their future that's for sure.

P.S: I love Sorin! That guy is too awesome and his love for Lucian is so amazing.
And I loved little Markus. *wink*

Wow! This is something different by Nancy Haviland. I think is a huge risk for her to change the tone of the book, which is essentially from a mafia series into a book that focus so much on BDSM.

If this is any other book label as BDSM, I would have rated it a 4 stars. But for a Wanted Men series I expect more mafioso stuff going on. I want to see Lucian go out and decapitate people instead of reading about his hot and cold obsession towards his pet.

His pet Yasmeen, is a woman who he had a one night stand with 2 years ago. I wish I know what exactly went down between these two to warrant such an unhealthy obsession.

Throughout the book, Lucian acted pretty much like a psychopath who is hard set on owning his pet while waiting for his brother murderer to surface. There are a lot of emphasis on his grief that lead to his craziness. Honestly, I don't even need an excuse for him. I'm more than happy to read about psychopathic hero who also dabble into BDSM lifestyle.

Compare to other BDSM books I had read, the things that Lucian did to Yasmeen is nothing extreme, it was rather tame actually. But he did seem cruel in the sense that he keep throwing her feelings toward him back at her face. As for him demeaning her to a pet status, who am I to judge about that. For me, as long as both party actually get off on that, everything is game. In that aspect, I think they both complement each other well.

As per the blurb, there isn't a HEA yet. We have to wait for Book #7 to get the conclusion for Lucian and Yasmeen. Here's to hoping that I still feel strongly for them when the book is here.

2 Frosty stars

FRUSTRTION . ANNOYANCE . ANGER
I've been debating whether to give this book a 2 or 3 stars. I'm so angry at the author for ruining the one book I was waiting for. Lucian was my favorite character in the other books so I had very high expectations going into this. I only have one word to say, DISAPPOINTED. You know the kind of books that just makes you want to get inside and strangle the character? That's how I felt. At one point I wanted to cry tears of frustration. Yasmeen is a spineless and mindless character. She's the kind of character who can't stand up for themselves. The girl is excusing Lucian's behavior. No matter what he does to her. I hated her. HATED.

It would have been fun if she gave Lucian a taste of his own medicine but sadly she is too gutless to do anything. I really really wish I had liked grievous like I did the other books but no such luck. I disliked both Yasmeen and Lucian. The author made me dislike the one character that I was obsessed with in the previous books. I don't even know what else to say. I am livid. If you see my other reviews of this series you can tell how much I loved this universe. I'm just so sad I have to give this book 2 stars.

I truly hope you make it up in the next book because this was a disaster.

This series keeps getting better and better! I love Lucian. His pain and grief is so raw it reaches out and touches you.

I can see why this book isn't for everyone who has read the series, he's a bit of an controlling asshole, but that so happens to be some of my favourite heroes.

Is it just me who thinks this series is taking a turn into the dom'ness and away from Mafia?? that's two books now! ( I like it )

But to be continued.... ughhhhh... why.... noooo... I need to know what happens now thankyouverymuch!

Lucian Fane is devastated by the loss of his brother, but he has a plan to control the rage thrumming throughout him. He takes Yasmeen Michaels, a woman he had one sensual encounter with but he needs more. Yasmeen can't believe Lucian kidnapped he and his seductive demands are getting hard to resist. He expects her to be compliant but as he begins to exorcise his demons, he finds him feeling for Yasmeen which he doesn't want to do. Yasmeen is trying to guard her heart but is losing the battle quickly and she fears it will destroy her in the end.

This had a bit of a cliffhanger ending. I have been eagerly waiting Lucian's story. Initially I wanted to hate Lucian, he is not warm and fuzzy he is dark, hard, and demanding. However, there is a erotically dark element to this story that has not been in the other books. Lucian grows on you, loved Yasmeen she is a tough woman who has had her own share of devastation in her life. I am anxious to see what happens to this couple, can't wait.

I have been anxiously awaiting Lucian's story since reading A Love of Vengeance, and with Grievous, Nancy Haviland delivered a stunning and intensely emotional book that left me reeling. Grievous was a beautifully written, deeply emotional, incredibly sexy story that left me with a craving for more. A violent mobster and his innocent prey come together in this hauntingly dark story of pain, vengeance, and mind-blowingly hot sex. Two people from different worlds are brought together by an undeniable, burning attraction and a connection that defies logic.

"From the moment they'd met, his dominance over everything around him had drawn her like a fragile moth to a crackling blaze."

Haviland's writing is so smooth and she weaves a storyline that has you hanging on to every word. This book stands out among the others in the Wanted Men series in that it has a darkness and grittiness that almost feels tangible. Lucian is still reeling from the death of someone close to him, and needs something to focus his energy on, that something being Yasmeen. Even while being close to her he tries to remain emotionally distant, and at times I was frustrated with his need to keep her at arms length. At the same time, I understood that he was battling both his own mind and his need for revenge, causing him to act out in unconventional ways.

"Yasmeen Michaels. His weakness. Frightened. Courageous. Stubborn. His."

The characters of this story were well-developed and so intriguing. I love the rich man/poor girl dynamic, and in this case it only added to the intensity of Lucian and Yasmeen's relationship. Yasmeen was someone who came from nothing and had to work hard for her independence. She didn't let her past rule who she was, and I loved that about her. All of Haviland's heroines have a great combination of strength and vulnerability, and Yasmeen is no exception. I fell in love with her from the very first pages. I enjoyed her intelligence, her defiance, and most of all, I loved her sense of humor and quick wit. Lucian has always been my favorite of all the mobsters, and my heart broke for him so many times while reading. His suffering was immense, understandably so. He was drowning in grief and fighting against an indescribable rage that resided inside him. He battled with his mind so fiercely, and it showed in every interaction he had with Yasmeen.

"I will sink my c*** into you and pleasure you until you are screaming loud enough to wake the dead. And you will accommodate me willingly and with a smile."

The intimate scenes in this story were some of the hottest I've ever read. I loved that feeling of not knowing what was coming next while reading. Lucian's unpredictability created a palpable tension between him and Yasmeen, leading to some insanely intense and deeply erotic moments between them. He was so dominant, so possessive, and so incredibly sexy. I suggest readers have a fan handy while reading, because the sex between these two was explosively hot.

"Her head fell back, her mouth opened, and a song came from her that would have told anyone within hearing distance that she was this man’s toy to do with as he pleased."

I don't know how I am going to hold on to my sanity waiting for the conclusion of their story to release next year. This author is a truly gifted storyteller, and it was showcased clearly with this book. Lucian and Yasmeen have a tumultuous road ahead of them, and I have no doubt that Haviland will make the rest of their journey absolutely epic.

I don't know that I can even give this 1 star. Don't get me wrong....I love this series. I love all of the men and their women. I have thoroughly enjoyed the pieces of Lucian I have seen throughout the previous books and have been looking forward to his book. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I don't think I have ever been more disappointed in a book...especially one I was anticipating. Currently it is a DNF for me. I will finish it because I keep hoping the author will turn things around and redeem this work but so far I am at 70% and reading that much has made me want to claw my eyes out to keep from seeing the words.
I really have more I would like to say but it would include spoilers and I'm afraid including them would cause others to skip this review that I personally feel everyone needs to see. Truly heartbroken with the direction this book was taken.

This book centered around Lucian and Yasmeen.

I didn't think it could get worse than the previous book but it was and I don't like to admit it, I was surprised.

The author took a character who was mildly interesting in the previous books and just ruined him, turning him into of an A@$ as the male lead.

I'm just wondering how many books the author plans on writing
and wondering if Jaks, Micha, Quan, and Lore are getting a book?

However, After this book, I'm ready to give up on this series.

I am speechless, I am not sure I can formulate the words for my feelings onto paper. As is true form with every one of Nancy Haviland’s books, this is my favorite to date. I really don’t know how she is going to top this one. Her books just aren’t stories, they are an experience. This story had me drowning in the sorrow that Lucian felt for losing his brother, and reeling in the compassion that Yasmeen had for him. Grievous is Lucian and Yasmeen’s complicated love story that is beautifully written with a storyline and setting that is befitting to their tale.

The build up of the first part of their story is like the sexual act of edging; hot, pleasurable, exciting, but prolonging the euphoric ending we were craving!!!

As with all of Nancy’s Wanted Men, they are 100% protective, possessive, loyal, sexy, loving and alpha males. Lucian is all that and more in a caveman sort of way!! He is complex, domineering, and tyrannical. His pain and loss of family have provoked his darkness and demons to overshadow his decisions and actions.

Yasmeen has a professional, poised flawless exterior, but underneath she is a girl deprived of the love and attention she seeks. Her loyalty to Lucian is inspiring, and she surrenders to him completely but in a cheeky, playful way.

The dynamics between the two are smoldering and undeniable. There seems to be one obstacle, Lucian’s pigheadedness. The wait for the conclusion to Yasmeen and Lucian’s story will be worth it, and will be nothing short of explosive and orgasmic!! This book deserves more than the 5 stars allowed!

When Lucian's baby brother is murdered his rage burns red hot. Two years ago he and Yas spent a night of passion that neither has forgotten. Lucian drugs and kidnaps Yaseem telling her that she is the only thing that will preventing him from annihilating most of New York in his rage.
Yaseem is already half in love with him; he is totally cut off from his emotions due to his childhood. He has only allowed the love of his brother to fill his heart.

This book shredded me, I have not had a book make me this emotional in a very long time. I had to set it aside from time to time and take a deep breath and psych myself up to continue. My love affair with the Vengence series is cemented once again. It isn't often a series can continue to carry the same quality but Nancy Haviland has scored another winner.

Hot sex, sadness, rage, unacknowledged feelings, and revenge this has it all.

Never In my life have I wanted to give negative stars!!! Honestly. This was a horrible book. It was abusive. It was disgusting. I have no idea why people gave this any stars at all.
It was disgusting. Demeaning. Deplorable.
He kidnaps this girl. Treats her like absolute crap. I mean trash. And she loves him for it. He almost kills her and she's crying because she knows he feels bad. That is just disgusting. This is not a dark romance. There is no fucking romance He treats her like a body with holes and a punching bag. Honestly disgusted.

Lucian Fane has just lost his brother. His conscience. The one he had sworn he would always protect. And now his demons demand vengeance and the city to drown in blood. Knowing that he will destroy everything in his path, guilty or innocent, Lucian tries to get the madness in his head under control and focus his wrath on the one who took his brother's life. To do that he needs the only thing that can distract him from the torture of his emotions - her. And when Lucian wants something or someone he takes it. And he wants her.

Yasmeen Michaels knows what it is like to drag yourself up from nothing and make it on your own. Growing up, bouncing from one shitty foster home to another, desperate poverty was the norm for her. But now she had the job she always wanted working at a prestigious art gallery, and a couple of close friends that were her family. Her love life is non-existent since that one night almost two years ago with...him. When she attends the service for Lucian's brother, she suddenly finds herself kidnapped and living in a Romanian castle with Lucian. Demanding that she become his pet, riles up her angry, feisty side, but beneath it all, Yasmeen yearns to ease Lucian's pain in any way she can, regardless of the fact that she knows he will toss her aside like everyone else has. But as Lucian's demons become harder to control, will he cross a line that could break them both forever?

GRIEVOUS by Nancy Haviland is book five in the Wanted Men Series and is one of the best books in this addictive series. This novel is dark, despairing, unbelievably erotic, and compelling, and I read it in a few hours because I just had to know! Lucian is a man used to being obeyed, and watching him struggle with his grief was heartbreaking, even though at times I despaired over the way he treated Yasmeen. Yasmeen loves him and is willing to be whatever he needs to get him through the darkest time of his life, but as the story evolves, she recognises that he is going to break her heart into pieces. This story does not have a HEA as it is the prequel to Yasmeen and Lucian's story, and I don't know how I am supposed to calmly wait for the remainder of their tale!!!! Emotional, deeply compelling, and damn sexy, GRIEVOUS by Nancy Haviland is erotic romantic suspense at its finest. Buy it and the entire series now, you won't regret it.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!!! Why is there no resolve in this book? Why are you being so cruel?

Lucian is grieving. His innocent brother just got killed as a casualty of a war he had no part in. He is smart enough to know that he is far too powerful to let his emotions free reign. If in normal circumpstances he can be a very dangerous man, his grieving self could start a war that would be devastating for everyone involved, him included. So he decides to remove himself from the situation by flighting away and lock his pain until the only man responsible of it is found. And he knows in order to stay in check, he needs a distraction.

Yasmeen met Lucian two years ago and they shared a night that moved him more than she realises, even more than he can admit to himself. Lucian is not one to ask or to show weaknesses. What he wants he takes. So he takes (kidnaps) Yasmeen to his castle in Romania, where he expects her to give him the ownership of her body, and nothing else.

I so loved this book. After reading the previous books in the Wanted Men series, I got so intrigued by Lucian; mysterious, deadly, intelligent, dark, fascinating, controlling, hot Lucian (Am I gushing? Yes I am); that I couldn't wait to get to his story. I was afraid to leave Lucian as a hardened man in previous books to find him all mellowed by love in his book. That didn't happen at all, thank you. He was still very much a cold bastard to the point of cruelty, honest to the point of bluntness. I loved Yasmeen who was a great match to him. Despite her fragility steemed from her long fear of abandonment, she has an inner strengh that didn't let her yield that easily to Lucian, tempered by her desire to mend his pain, her weakness to have him accept her as more than a sexual plaything, and her inability to control her body when he is near.

And now here I am anxiously waiting for the following book.

I'm not going to rehash the synopsis because that has been done numerous times prior to this review. What I am going to do is warn you-yes warn you:

*******SPOILERS AHEAD*********

Are you reading this thinkin it's another one of our loving Bratva boys? It's not. Lucian is completely different from all of them. In fact V could take lessons in coldness from Lucian.

Are you looking for that HEA we are all used to? Look elsewhere-it's not here. The end of this book will have you questioning whether you can recover from this and wait for the conclusion. It literally took me a week to come back to the book and re read it.

Are you vanilla? For the love of all that is holy stay away! There is NOTHING vanilla with Lucian. He is dark, so so dark. He is in a dark place and trust me, we see it.

If your still contemplating it well don't stop now-go get Grievous. You won't regret it.

Yes it sucks we have to wait for the conclusion but my god-it's going to be so good watching him get there.
If you know anything about Nancy Haviland you know her writing improves with every novel she releases-this is no different. Except that it is-Grievous is nothing like her Wanted Men series. It's dark, dirty and will rip your heart out.

Lucian is portrayed so wonderfully you feel his emotions. You can feel exactly why Yasmeen will do anything to help him. I was begging to take her place.

I will say the only saving grace for my sanity was that I know their story is coming-it's going to be amazing no doubt. But the waiting-my god the waiting is going to kill me.

I can't give enough compliments to Haviland, her writing is nothing short of spectacular.

I have to say this may be my favorite book in this series. These characters just broke my heart and my chest ached as I was reading this book. Nancy did an outstanding job with this book and I am dying to get the next in this series! This book will not get its ending until book 7 but I'm sure the wait will be worth it.

Lucian is grieving the loss of his brother and his "demons" are waiting to be let lose to get revenge for his brothers murder. He has decided to kidnap the woman he hasn't been able to get out of his head for the past 2 years. He only wanted to keep her and use her as his pet until his need is gone. He never wanted to get attached or want anything more from her but the connection between them is something that he is fighting hard.

Yasmeen hasn't been able to get Lucian out of her mind either since they were last together. Her heart is breaking for his lose and she offers to be there if he needs her but she never expected to be kidnapped and taken to Romania to be his pet. She has no way to leave and is struggling with the situation Lucian has put her in and what he all expects from her. She is definitely sexually attracted to him but she is falling for him and he is cold and heartless when it comes to her. All she has ever wanted is for someone to want her and to love her forever, but no one sticks around for long.

I really hope we are able to get book 7 soon because I am desperate to get my hands on it and to see how Lucian and Yasmeen's story all plays out. My heart was shattering by the end of this book and I have to see what is next. If you haven't read this series yet I highly recommend it. Nancy does a wonderful job giving us stories full of characters that you will love and get emotionally invested in.

Rated 4.5 stars!

Yasmeen (ooh I loooved her name!) is being held against her will in an ancient Romanian castle with no means of escape by the very dangerous Lucian Fane. He wants to keep her as his pet in order to control his demons and darkest urges after tragedy struck. His unhealthy obsession with her seems to keep his mind from finally snapping and hence he plans to keep her under lock and key until he can be in total control. Poor Yasmeen has been drawn to Lucian since before and cannot seem to resist his advances, will she finally give in?

This book was my first from the author and I was so not disappointed! Grievous just was my kind of read- a perfect mix of drama, violence, redhot and slightly dark and gritty. The title fits the story to a T for sure! It's the blurb that lured me in and since I absolutely cannot resist such stories I jumped straight in- being a standalone in the Wanted Men series, a definite plus point! I freaking cannot wait for the next book! I need to know what happens next lol So grab this book guys and hold on for a hell of a wild ride, you will not be disappointed!

For her fifth Wanted Men story, Nancy Haviland uses her considerable storytelling skills to great advantage. "Grievous" is the first half of a story of a very emotionally disconnected man and the young woman whose luck (or fate) it is to capture his attention. The storyline is very compressed as the whole narrative takes place within a few days and this helps give the story a sense of urgency; you know it's not going to end well. This installment will not be for everyone. There is none of the camaraderie or mafia action that is so prevalent in the preceding Wanted Men books. This is a story of a man in the grips of his dark demons and how he uses a young woman to help keep those demons at bay. There are some graphic BDSM moments and will make some of Nancy's fans squirm. But for those that can brave some "scenes" this book will not disappoint!!

Five Romanian Stars!!!!!
Lucian Darius Fane....*fans face while holding my chest over my fluttering heart*
Yasmeen Michaels is by far my most favorite female character out of this entire series! The woman gave as good as she took when it came to my Lucian. My heart aches for them both! I have cried (more than I care to explain) myself dry through out this book.
It is so obvious that my Lucian loves and adores his "pet" but fear of loss prevents him from admitting it to himself and showing it completely to Yasmeen. My buddy, Sorin, sees through the bullshit though. *winks*
When Yasmeen comes down the stairs and addressed Lucian as "Gomez", I literally laughed out loud! Her sense of humor reminds me of Maksim. Those two could put a hurting on your belly from all the laughs they'd cause. I hope they meet!
I truly hope we get to read more about my Lucian and his pet(s). Surly this can't be the end!!

I don't know what happened to dear Nancy in this book.
I really do not know.
I don't like to make these types of comments, but in truth, it is one of the worst books I have read in my life, maybe the worst.
No good story, just sex, sex, sex all the time and the worst ending ever.
A total disappointment.
