An epic colorful emotional heartfelt journey where friendship, lust, love, and passion collides in such a visceral manner. Hearts On Air is the sixth book in the Hearts Series and like the previous books, Hearts On Air will make your heart leap out of your chest as you feel the tangible and palpable bond of Trevor Cross and Reya Cabrera as they try to rebuild and rekindle their friendship and love for each other.
Trevor Cross has it all. Fame and money but what he doesn’t have is the girl that he walked away from. The girl that makes his heart beat wild and so this time around, he will stop at nothing in getting Reya Cabrera back.
Reya Cabrera loved Trevor. She was his best friend and her feelings for him ran deep. She may have loved him with such vigor and intensity and so when he left, it left her broken and bitter. While Trevor’s life is on the up, Reya’s music career is at a standstill and so when Trevor offer’s her an opportunity to join him on tour, it was an offer that she couldn’t refuse.
I loved his unpredictability. I got off on his wildness and spontaneity. And I adored how he always surprised me with what came out of his mouth. ”
As Trevor and Reya reconnects, slowly pieces of their friendship begins to be pieced back together. They soon began to see each other in a whole new light. Trevor is more grounded and this time his feelings for her has intensified. Soon it was inevitable for them to not fall back into each other’s arms as their love for each other began pulse around them. Having experiencing heartbreak will Reya be able to push away her fears and old memories? And how far will Trevor go to earn back her trust and show her this is it for him?
Hearts On Air is a beautiful emotional second chance romance that is a testament of love and friendship and the depths of how far one will go for love. While Reya can be a little frustrating at times, I understood her because she was just protecting her heart. As for Trevor, I absolutely adored him. He was the ultimate hero trying to win back the girl he loves. With Cosway’s beautiful imagery, bold characters, and palpable prose, she captivates her readers to feel the magnitude of Trevor and Reya’s love. So if you are looking for a second chance romance with all the feels then I would suggest you read this book.

Going Down Fast was a fast well-paced love story that immediately grabbed your attention right from the prologue. It was sexy, emotional, touching, uplifting, and hot as sin. Carly Phillips allowed readers to see that time, distance, and circumstance couldn’t stop the inevitable of Lucas and Maxie’s relationship because their love was pure and meant to be. A friends to lovers romance that brings out all the feels!!! If there is a romance trope that I can never get tired of reading, it is most definitely the best friends to lovers. There is just something about knowing that two friends are united with a connection that ties them beyond friendship. A love so deep. A truth so real. And so, E.m. Abel brings forth a love story that showcases the ups, down, and vulnerable aspects of Sky and Dillon. Their connection, friendship, and love for each other was felt through the pages. Readers will see and feel it. With the themes of love and a little bit of angst thrown into the mix, Abel has written a story that will resonate with the readers that sometimes we don’t see what is in front of us. And for Sky and Dillon, their journey of finally see what is standing and have always been there was worth the wait.
Abel did a fantastic job writing this book as she beautifully weaved themes of family, friendship, love and raw emotions in such a palpable manner.
A bite-sized sweet romance that hits the spot!!! So if you are a fan of best friends to lover romance trope then this book is for you. Veronica Larsen wrote a simple love story where one friend is madly in love with his best friend and is just waiting for the other person to finally take notice and see him. Since this story is such a quick light read, it was only a matter of time till the right guy wins the girl. So if you are looking for a romance that will make you smile then I suggest you to take a bite of this cute love story between two zombie loving best friends.
L.O.V.E. One word that consist of four letters. Easy to spell but hard to define. In E.L. Todd’s Forever and Always Collection, Ms. Todd delivers a story that explores the different facets and gamuts of love. A friendship kind of love. A blurred love. A sexual love. A love of need. Complicated love. And a forever of kind of love. But with these different facets of love, Ms. Todd throw readers under a whirlwind of emotions from frustration, anger, understanding, and forgiveness. In the end of this tumultuous journey, one question remains. Is there such a thing called a forever and always kind of love?
Scarlet and Sean have been best friends for so many years. They are each other’s backbone and loved each other fiercely. So what happens when one night changes everything? Lines of friendship begins to get blurred? Can they ever go back the same if Scarlet feels strongly for Sean and he hasn’t yet realize his feelings for her? Can their friendship and hearts be saved?
“We weren’t fucking. We were making love, and I realized I had loved him the entire length of our friendship. He was the one I wanted and no one else. I knew in that moment that Sean felt the same way. He loved me. Now I understood why I couldn’t date anyone else, and why I never gave anyone else a chance. It was because I wanted Sean. I always feared he wouldn’t feel the same way, that I was his friend and nothing more. But now that I knew I was wrong, I was so happy he was mine. We belonged together. I only wished we hadn’t taken so long to figure it out.”
And so begins one hell of an angsty emotional driven journey of two best friends rediscovering and finding themselves. For Scarlet, leaving NYC, her job and Sean behind was what was needed in order for her to listen to her heart. In Seattle, she was able to reconnect with her brother and make new friends with her brother’s best friend. Choices were made in regards how she would dealt with her broken heart. Were these choices the best one? Yes and No. But, in the end it was Scarlet’s choice in the matter.
The distance apart from Scarlet allowed Sean to see that she was the one that he let slipped away. She was the girl who loved him fiercely and all it took was time apart to awaken him to get his act together and go get the woman he loves. But what happens when he reconnects with Scarlet and she has a whole new life in Seattle? And what happens when Sean’s ex makes a surprise appearance? Can Sean and Scarlet get their shot at happily ever after or are they just destined to be friends only?
“His lips felt right against mine and I knew I was meant for him—we were perfect together.”
In this collection, E.L. Todd showcases an imperfect love story with two imperfect individuals. Yes, both characters needed a slap to the head for their stupidity and rash decisions. But what makes their story stand out, it is raw. There is no sugar-coating anything about Sean and Scarlet. They are human. They make mistakes. But in the end, it is their love that saves them. Their love for one another withstands all the complicated bullshit that tries to tear them apart. They are not perfect but their love for one another is perfect for them. And so E.L. Todd highlights that important aspect of love. Love is messy. Love is complicated. But if you fight for your love and answer to what your heart desires, then you will find the answer to forever and always.
This three book collection was definitely driven by lots of angst. And I mean angst up the wazoo. This book was filled with so many ups and downs that you were beginning to wonder how much more can Scarlet and Sean take in order to get their happily ever after. I did enjoy the book but I felt their story could have been condensed without the unnecessary drama and surprise appearance of characters. My only complaint was that cliffhanger ending. Other than that, if you like best friends romance with lots of angst and I mean a plethora of it then this book is for you.

“The course of true love, never did run smooth.”
It’s no secret that I AM A BIG Rachel Van Dyken fan. Yes, this author could write about anything and still have me going crazy for her books. But there is one book from the Eagle Elite Series that stood out from the rest. From the moment I read Elude , I knew this book was going to steal my heart. And boy oh boy did this book left me breathless, raw, and exposed. The story of Sergio and Andi was a story that had no words because their story reminded us all that it’s the unexpected that changes our lives. And so when I discovered that RVD was going to write a continuation to Sergio’s story after losing his wife, Andi, a part of me was torn. Torn in the sense that I don’t know if there could be another heroine that could steal my heart as much as Andi did and torn if I my heart could take another raw emotional journey. And the beauty of reading an RVD book is that she makes readers see and feel a second chance love story in a new raw perspective in the eyes of Sergio and his new leading lady, Val in Empire.
“She had made love to me… knowing that she wouldn’t be the last. She had kissed me… knowing that I was promised to another. Every moment. Every touch. I was her last. But she wasn’t mine. How could she have still loved me? Knowing that? Knowing what my future held?”
Before I begin my review, it is highly recommended that you MUST read Elude before reading Empire. Readers need to know the backstory of Sergio in order to fully understand all the range of mixed emotions he goes through. Empire is a story where your are asked one question. Do you believe in soul mates?
“I didn’t want to be saved. No saving was needed. Because the truth of the matter was, I wasn’t really lost. I was just… empty.”
Can the heart love again? Can it truly move on and be at peace? Does loving again mean the memories of your first love are erased? Or does it take finding the right person to make you see that letting go doesn’t mean forgetting the memories? Sergio Abandonato thought he lost his everything when cancer took away his wife. His life. His soul. His purpose. His everything. But the funny thing about life, it moves on. It doesn’t stand still. And two months after Andi's death, her memories still haunts Sergio. How could he ever love again? With The Empire beginning to show cracks, he is forced once again to another arranged marriage. Will this new bride find a way to his broken heart?
Before Andi passed away, she left Sergio a bucket list and a letter of her wishes. She informed him that she was releasing him and wants him to love again. So can Sergio move on with his new bride to be, Val and follow the wishes of his beloved wife, Andi?
“In her arms, I wasn’t a widower . I wasn’t mafia. I wasn’t anything but a guy; she made me feel that way, like nothing else mattered. It was cheesy. It was beautiful. It was like breathing for the first time.”
Val is betrothed to marry Sergio. Their marriage is what is needed in order to restore power and keep The Empire alive. So when she meets Sergio, she is intrigued by this broody, raw, and beautiful man but knows loving him will be the hardest part since his heart is torn and struggling. Can Val break through his hard exteriors and help him face his inner demons?
“That’s the thing about pain. You live with it, you embrace the rightness of it , until someone finally reaches through the broken glass, and grabs ahold of the real you, the you that had been lost and hurting. Broken and bleeding, they hold on for dear life, refusing to let go. They join you in your pain.”
Empire is a story that grips you to the core. I mean your heart will burst with heartache, love, compassion, and hope. I thought I could never love anyone as much as Andi but I was wrong. Ms. Van Dyken proved to her readers that she wasn’t going to replace Andi but she was going to mend our broken hearts with a character that can only give Andi’s memory justice and that is through Val. For Sergio and Val, their relationship may not be the conventional love affair but it was the kind of love that tugged every strings of your heart. Sergio has always been an raw enigma of a character and closed off. And so a part of me was beyond excited to see him finally open up again and it all it took was his deceased wife’s wishes and a young beautiful bride to put a chink in his armor.
“Sergio Abandonato, my husband, was not living. He wasn’t even dead. He was a ghost. And only he could set himself free.”
I honestly don't think this book could be reviewed with just words alone because this book is about HEALING and coming to peace with whatever life throws at you. Losing someone is never easy and the memories of our loved ones will always be there to remind us of the good, the bad, and those special raw moments. And for Sergio, his story was not just saving The Empire but saving himself. And his savior was just not one person but two. His Andi and now his Val.
“Love is love. There is no explanation, no reason, no path. It is what it is, and as it should be. —Valentina”
Although Andi will go down as one of my favorite heroines because she lived life to the fullest and came to accept her time on earth was coming to an end, a part of my heart rooted for the unsung heroine, Val. Val understood she was not competing for Sergio’s love but learning to love all parts of him. And learning to love meant embracing his deceased wife and not eluding it. So as much as we try to elude death, the reality of it is that it’s something that’s inevitable just like love. And for Sergio, saving The Empire might have been the end goal but finding love again was his salvation. So if you are looking for a book that weaves loss, romance, hope, and second chances to another level then I highly recommend you to read Empire by Rachel Van Dyken.

He was my drug. Bold. Intoxicating. Addictive.”

She had become an obsession for me. Who knew my sweet little friend with her wide, innocent blue eyes and high pink cheekbones was such an epic fuck?”

Wednesday by Kendall Ryan is a second chance erotic romance between two best friends who share a secret connection. They both love each other but it’s unspoken. While this book is a quick read, the love story between Chloe and Shaw didn’t feel rushed at all. Ms. Ryan delicately allowed readers to feel all the emotions coursing through Chloe and Shaw as they knew their feelings for one another will begin to get blurred as they continued their secret affair. I love the story of Chloe and Shaw on a deeper emotional level. Yes, this book is brimming with hot erotic sex but Ms. Kendall was able to incorporate heart into this sexy second chance. So if you are looking for a story, where two best friends get their shot a love then this book is for you.
So it’s no secret that I am a big fan of the Corps Security Series and I absolutely adore and love each of those characters that comprises the series. And so when Harper decided to do a spin-off with the kids from the Corps Security Series, I was beyond thrilled. Pardon my language, I was fucking ecstatic. I thought no one could replace Cohen Cage as my top fave in the Hope Town Series but Nate Reid stole my heart right off the opening pages. I would like to say it’s a tie but I would be lying to myself if I didn’t admit Nate has a slight edge and lead over Cohen.
“Keep following your heart, Ember. Follow it— me—and let me worry about guiding the way. Allow me to prove to you that I’m worthy of you giving me your love back.”
Love. Nate Reid has been surrounded by love the moment he was born. His parents are madly in love with each other. His sister, Dani found true love and happiness with Cohen Cage. And his extended family of Corp Security could be the walking advertisement for Hallmark. Nate Reid knows love but has he ever been in love. And the answer is yes, Nate knew the moment he fell in love with Emberlyn Locke and the moment he lost love.
“When I’m finished, the abstract piece will be more blur and fade around the edges, the two bodies becoming clearer the closer you get to those two perfectly painted and in focus hands. This is me. This is Nate. It’s us. So much beauty and pain in one huge piece that I can’t help but think it is eventually my soul stripped bare and splattered against the canvas.”
Maddox and Emmy’s daughter, Emberlyn Locke, knew without a doubt that she loved Nate Reid. She didn’t care that he was six years older than she was. She loved him beyond reason and so when she finally got the courage to confess her love to Nate, she knew that day will forever haunt her. When a young 18 year old Ember confessed her love for Nate, she was hurt that Nate couldn’t admit the exact same feelings for her even though she knew a part of him saw her as a woman and not just a best friend.
Fast forward to several years later, Nate and Ember’s relationship has been strained since Ember has been avoiding family functions so she wouldn’t run into Nate. As Ember tries to move on with her life, she still couldn’t hide her true feelings for the boy that stole her heart. And for Nate, his memories of Ember still remains.
“No more fucking words but my name. Know who is claiming you. Let the whole fucking world hear who is taking you and making you his.”
About to turn 21, Ember is on the rise to be a successful painter. And so when her sister and friends decide to throw her a birthday bash, she couldn’t hide her nervousness and excitement that she will be at Nate’s nightclub. When Nate saw Ember in his club,he had an epiphany of some sort to finally claim Ember and make her his. He was tired of denying his feelings for her and so on that night, fireworks were exploding when Nate claimed his girl. His woman. His love.
“Yeah, Emberlyn Locke, I’m beyond fucking ready to be yours.”
When I’m With You hands down is one of my favorite Harper Sloan’s book. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this book hard. I seriously could re-read this book 10 times and wouldn’t get tired of it. Ms. Sloan did a fabulous job with the love story of Nate and Ember. She allowed readers to feel the wide array of emotions that each character were feeling. And for this particular story, Harper bewitched her readers when she showcased a young man earning back the trust and love that he lost. Without a doubt, Harper made her readers see this fierce, intense, burning connection that Nate and Ember have for one another. Their love was so pure. So simple. So passionate. So true. So beautiful. It was a canvas splashed with color, life, beauty, and love. Honestly, their love for one another is what we all attain to have. A love that completes. And so if you are looking for a story, that paints a beautiful literary masterpiece of second chances, love, forgiveness, honesty and new beginnings then I highly recommend you to read this book. And as an added bonus for all you Maddox Locke fans out there, Maddox once again reminded me how much I loved his protectiveness and big heart.

“Mason Kincaid was a rule breaker, a thrill seeker, and a self-indulgent bad boy who was all about pleasure and instant gratification. ”
DIRTY. SEXY. INKED. Do I need to say more? That’s right Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde has me dangerously addicted with the Dirty Sexy Series. So you can imagine my excitement when I got my hands on the second installment to this series, I was beyond excited to read Dirty Sexy Inked.
“It was so easy for Mason to take advantage of her always being around and at his beck and call. Hell, who was she kidding? She’d made it easy for him, and maybe it was time that she reevaluated her feelings for her best friend, and the fact that they weren’t reciprocated. Because there was one thing she knew for certain—unrequited love sucked big hairy balls.”
I am a total sucker for best friends to lovers trope. And I am even a bigger sucker when it deals with a bad boy manwhore. First we met a dirty sexy saint. Now it’s time to meet the dirty sexy inked Kincaid brother.
Mason Kincaid. The middle brother. The troublemaker. The tattoo bad boy. The manwhore. The heart-breaker. The best friend. Mason Kincaid is all of those things. He is a man who loves four things. His family, his tattoo shop, his best friend and sex.
“Her heart was already engaged, now even more so. And her body was forever ruined for any other man.”
Dirty Sexy Inked starts off with the Kincaid brothers and their group of friends flying off to Las Vegas for the wedding of Clay and Samantha. Mason is eager to party in Vegas and find out what kind of dirty sexy trouble he can get into. But what Mason never expected that on this flight to Vegas, he might find himself gambling on a romance with his best friend, Katrina Sands.
Kat has always loved Mason from afar. Her love for him burns deep but she has always been afraid to tell him since he might not feel the same way about her but she doesn’t realize Mason loves her too. With these two strong willed personalities, they both never expressed their feelings and desires for one another. So when Kat lets loose in Vegas, she will soon discover that what happens in Vegas doesn't really stay in Vegas especially when it comes to dirty sexy off the charts sex with your best friend.
Mason and Kat’s relationship can be summed up in one word. HOT!!!! Yes, these two have a smoking hot relationship that is filled with passion, heat, intensity, and love. Their love for each other is so strong that they complete one another. They understand and accept their broken pasts. But what happens when Kat’s past comes spiraling back? Will she be able to tell Mason the one secret that she kept hidden from him? And can this reformed manwhore have eyes only for his dirty sexed inked up best friend?
“They were two damaged people who’d managed to heal each other with something as simple as unconditional love. The fact that they were best friends who had phenomenal sex was a bonus.”
Dirty Sexy Inked was dirty, sexy, and oh so sweet!!!!! This book was such a fun read and yet had that strong emotional undertones to keep readers like myself entertained with the strong connection of Mason and Kat. I loved Dirty Sexy Saint but I gotta say that I LOVED Dirty Sexy Inked more. But who knows, maybe the quiet reserved baby Kincaid brother might be the one to steal my heart and have it on lock down. All there is left to say, go meet the Kincaid brothers. Find out why these Kincaid men will have you craving for more dirty sexy.
One of my favorite romance trope has always been best friends to lovers and I have always been a sucker when it comes to this specific trope. And Candy Sloane has delivered. She has more than delivered because she has written a love story that truly captures the essence of this specific genre. Ms. Sloane has layered her story, Best Friends With Benefits with heart, raw emotions and of course a plethora of hot steamy dirty sex!!!!!
“She was his Val, but she was also her own woman. A woman if he’d met in a bar now, he would have made sure they ended the night wet and naked and fucking.”
Right off the opening pages, I was hooked. Ms Sloane did an amazing job introducing her raw characters in Best Friends With Benefits. In this sweet, sexy, and dirty love story, readers are introduced to two best friends, who will soon discover a new uncharted territory of their friendship. Lines will be crossed and blurred when sex and emotional feelings are involved. For Valerie Barkin and Alec Roger, their fourteen year friendship meant the world to them. It was always Val and Alec. They were inseparable and knew every facet of their lives. They were each other's shoulders to lean on. The good, the bad, and the ugly were experienced together. And so when Alec drags Val to attend their high school reunion, their friendship got a little more complicated when they were forced to play a game with their old high school friends. And this game changed everything when a hot steamy kiss was involved.
Valerie Barkin knew her best friend was hot and loved by the public since he was a member of the hottest rock band. Val loved Alec but she knew of his rockstar playboy ways. She knew he didn't believe in commitment and marriage and so Val never thought she could change his views. Alec loved Valerie. She was the girl who truly understood and loved him. And so when they were reunited, Alec began to look at his Val differently especially when they finally shared one passionate kiss.
“She had ruined him, by saving him. But he couldn’t let her know it. He would try to follow her rules even if it killed him.”
That one kiss set precedent to a weekend of hot, steamy, passionate sex. Val made rules to their weekend of sex with no strings attached. No feeling would get involved. Just a weekend of sex and then they will go back to being best friends. Well, the rules went out the window when deep emotional feelings begin to emerge. Val wants Alec but will she be enough for this rockstar who plans to never settle down. So will Val be able to change Alec's mind when it comes to marriage and commitment? Or will this weekend be a realization that they are better off as best friends than lovers?
“In some ways it was what he wanted. To kiss every uncharted inch of her, take his time with her pleasure rather than fuck her hard and fast, but he knew how dangerous that was. If he felt like this after one kiss, how would he feel after making love to her? And fuck, God help him, he wanted to.”
Best Friends With Benefits was a fun, sexy, sweet, and steamy read!!!! I love getting lost in a story as two people discover the truth. And for Val and Alec, the truth is that they are more than just best friends. They are two people who have experienced every ups and downs together. They make each other smile and are part of each other's mind, heart, and soul. Their friendship and love is what makes Alec and Val. They are each other's biggest cheerleader and supporter. And so if you are looking for a friends to lover story that is hot, sexy, and emotional then this book is for you.
A light romantic comedy that will leave you dazzled!!!! I have read several books from Jane Harvey-Berrick and this book was different but delightful. If you are a fan of best friends to lovers romance, then this book might be for you as Jane Harvey-Berrick explores the strong friendship of Miles Stephens and his best friend, Claire.
“I’d been dazzled by him my whole life. And it wasn’t fair. For either of us.”
Miles and Claire are childhood best friends. Claire is your girl next door who has always been in love with her best friend. She loves Miles and she knows Miles loves her too but not in the way that she loves him. Miles cares for her deeply and so he doesn't see or notice that Claire's love for him is much more. As much as she wants to tell him on how she feels about him, she is afraid that Miles won't feel the same way and might leave an awkward strain on their friendship.
Miles is a struggling actor/musician and so when he got an audition for a movie in Hollywood, he knew he couldn't pass up this opportunity. And so, a young naive British actor was ready for his big break. When Miles landed in California where glitz, glamour, and fame were important, it became apparent that everything in Hollywood is a new learning experience for him. Suddenly Miles found himself getting a whole new makeup and wardrobe in order to fit into Hollywood standard. As he tries to adjust to this new lifestyle of fame and paparazzi, Miles missed Claire and so he invites her to California so she can spend time with him while he is in movie production. But when Miles falls for his co-star, Claire is devastated that her best friend is not seeing her. So what will it take for Miles to see that fame is not all that crack up to be when you are surrounded by fake people and dazzling smiles? Will Miles finally see that the only one who can dazzle and bewitch him is Claire?
“One day I’m going to buy you your own chocolate fountain – and then I’m going to dip my dick in it and see how much you really like chocolate.”
Dazzled was definitely your light best friend to lovers romance. I did find this book enjoyable but I didn't love it like Jane's previous books. Personally, I felt there were times the author could have trimmed down on some parts and showcased more of the romantic aspect of Miles and Claire. With that being said, the book overall was a enjoyable sweet light romantic comedy.

Complicate Me by M. Robinson is a raw, poignant, touching read that weaves the elements of first love, friendship, second chances, life, and love. In this engrossing tale, M. Robinson enchants her readers on all facets of love from first love, heartbreak, anger, lust, jealousy, and healing. She shows her readers that LOVE is a simple word but hard to define. Can an innocent love blossomed to a forever kind of love? A blurred love? A complicated love? So in this complicated tale of young love, can two soul mates finally realize that true love isn't meant to be easy? That love doesn't appear on command and it'll put you through hurdles but in the end, none of that will matter because it's about how you overcome these hurdles that will define your love. So can a complicated love be uncomplicated?
If you have read M. Robinson's previous books then you are aware that Complicate Me is very different from her other books. In her newest release, this book reads more of a Coming of Age and New Adult genre than her typical erotic romance novels. I was pleasantly surprised with this book because M. Robinson was able to showcase more of a deeper and richer meaning of love and friendship. First love has always been one of those trope that I instantly gravitate to since these stories are usually deep with emotions, meaning, depth and love. We read romance books because it can make us FEEL and in Complicate Me, it really puts readers on an roller-coaster of emotions.
Complicate Me focus on a group of friends who grew up together and had their lives intertwined with each other. Each moment of their life was ingrained and built on their strong love for each other. And it so happens that Lucas and Alex took their friendship to another level because they shared a bond that united their souls and hearts to each other. Alex was the only girl in the group that consisted of Lucas, Dylan, Jacob and Austin. They were her boys and her family but Lucas was so different and so much more to her and the same goes for him as well. If Lucas and Alex loved each other so much then how could their love be complicated?
Their love was complicated because like any young person, feelings were never properly expressed since they were both afraid to ruin the friendship and dynamics of the group. But what happens when Lucas and Alex finally had the chance to make it right, unexpected news and misunderstandings tears to destroy their chance at love. Can their love get any more complicated when their future and life choices seems to put a hindrance at their chance of love?
Lucas and Alex relationship can only be summed up as roller-coaster. These two really puts you on an emotional ride of where at times I wanted to slap each of them upside the head and tell them to get their acts together but a part of me understood how young they were and they had a lot of growing up to do. As much as this story was focused on love, I think their foundation of friendship is what really draws and captures the reader's attention because their friendship is what made their love palpable.
Complicate Me is a book that raises a lot of complicated questions. Does years of friendship automatically mean that you are meant to be with that person? When love gets blurred and misunderstood, can it be easily fixed? Do first love and soul mates even exist? Can a love that was already complicated be uncomplicated? Though this book may have you questioning the relationship and status of Lucas and Alex, it really showcases that love just can't be defined and answered with a simple yes or no. The matters of the heart can only be answered by the two people who are involved in the equation. And for Lucas and Alex, their love was a solid foundation of growth and learning. Learning to let go, learning to forgive, learning to understand, learning of maturity, and most importantly learning to really love. So if you are looking for a love story that is filled with angst, drama, friendship and love, then I recommend you to give Complicate Me a try.
If you are a fan of best friends to lovers romance and quirky small town charm then I highly recommend you to read Love So Hot by Marquita Valentine. If you haven't known by now, I adore and love this author and her writing. She has a magically way of making you fall in love with her lovable cast of characters and of course leave readers like myself with hearts fluttering for those Lawson brothers. And in Love So Hot, Ms. Valentine turned up the heat level as two best friends, Sydney McKnight and Brody Lawson slowly danced around each other as they try to fight their sexual and emotional attraction to one another. What started off as a teaching lesson on seduction soon finds Brody and Sydney falling deep for one another. So what happens when the lessons on seduction gets blurred with the matters of the heart? Can Sydney tell Brody that she has and always been in love with him?
Love So Hot was sweet, charming, and sexy!!! I love the friendship of Brody and Sydney and of course the meddling Cherry McCoy. Although Brody and Sydney needed a good slap to their heads and encouragement to finally admit the truth about their feelings, I did enjoy their playful lessons on seduction. I must say Brody definitely turned up the heat in this explosive love of passion and friendship. So if you are looking for a love story that is hot then I suggest you read Love So Hot by Marquita Valentine. Ms. Valentine will definitely have you ringin' the alarms because Brody and Sydney are fiery hot!!!

Calling all romance addicts, if you are a big fan of friends to lovers stories like myself, then Katee Robert's newest release, Falling For His Best Friend is the book for you. And what is refreshing about this new book is that Ms. Robert was able to add romantic diversity into the story. In this day in age, I love when authors showcases interracial romance. It proves and reminds us all love has no bounds and sees no color. And to have a leading heroine that is of Asian descent, I applaud Ms. Robert for not doing the typical blonde or brunette leading ladies.
Falling For His Best Friend chronicles the story of Avery Yeung and her best friend, Drew Flannery. Avery knows her time is running out to have a baby since she carries the same cancerous genes that affected her sister and killed her mother. She knows if she wants to have her own biological child, she has to do it now. So when Avery tells her friends, her dad and sister, they were all supportive of her decision to get in vitro fertilization except for Drew.
For Drew Flannery, there is only woman who truly understands him. His best friend, Avery Yeung. So when she drops this surprising news that she wants a baby, it bothered him to know that she plans to carry another man's baby and so he decides that he will be the one to be the sperm donor. And Drew plans to make a baby with Avery the good old fashion way. And so begins, Avery and Drew's adventures in sex. Sex in the kitchen, car, outside, and the bedroom. As they cross the lines of friendship, deeper feelings begins to develop and has them questioning maybe there is something more between them. Not friendship love but TRUE LOVE. So will Drew be able to finally admit to Avery that he wants more and is madly in love with her? Or will his fears destroy any chance of happily ever after with Avery?
So if you love hot, sexy, sizzling and fun romance with a little angst then I suggest you to read Falling For His Best Friend. Katee never fails to deliver a romance that has you smiling. My only hope is that Katee plans to write Avery's sister, Alexis a book because after that epilogue it has me wanting Alexis's story. Katee Robert

If I could sum up my review of Alfame by Penelope Douglas, it would be ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKIARC provided by publisher in exchange for an honest review
If I could sum up my review of Alfame by Penelope Douglas, it would be ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! This was one story that I truly wanted to savor and take my time reading but being that it was a Penelope Douglas book, I couldn't helped but devour this book. I have nothing but LOVE LOVE LOVE for Aflame. Ms. Douglas consumed and captivated me with her brilliant and engaging writing and storytelling. So if you want a story to get lost in and have your heart brimming with love, friendship, family, sacrifices, and hope then Aflame is the book for you. We all know the saying when you truly love someone, you have to let them go and if they come back to you, they were always yours. And so Ms. Douglas will finally complete the story of Jared and Tate. Will these soul-mates finally get their chance to write their storybook ending and drive off to the HEA? Or will their love and friendship be not enough to save them?
I will admit this was a bittersweet read for me since I am a bit sad to say goodbye to Jared, Tate, Madoc, Fallon, Jax and Juliet but at the same time I am beyond happy that Ms. Douglas brought back these beloved characters back into our hearts. When I first read Bully, I was so consumed with the relationship of Jared and Tate. Their story and struggle was so engrained into our hearts that I felt their deep emotional connections and scars that ties them. In the previous books, we all saw that Fallon and Madoc got their happily ever after ending. And so did Jax and Juliet. And now it's time for Jared and Tate to get theirs. Aflame is a story that completes and brings to a full circle of Jared and Tate's journey. It is a journey that was filled with happiness, pain, resentment, sadness, loneliness, loss, anger, and love. So will Tate and Jared be able to drive this new journey together or separately?
Can the heart truly forget a love that was so consuming and etched onto your soul and being? And the answer is NO. In Aflame, Ms. Douglas delivered a story of characters who grew and learned from their mistakes. The past was something that neither Jared and Tate could forget. It is a reminder of the hurt, pain, and sadness that they inflicted upon themselves. But at the same time, the past was a reminder of an intense passionate love that was tattooed in their hearts and memories. The beauty of this book was that Ms. Douglas allowed us to see Jared and Tate grow as individuals. They are two people who had to learn from their past. They were a couple who was separated. You can blame it on their lack of communication, stubbornness, pride, and fear for their separation. In a sense, maybe they did need that time apart so they can finally realized the truth. The truth that they belonged together. The truth that were meant to be. The truth that Jared and Tate are fated. The truth that their love for one another never died. The truth that their love was a flame that was still burning bright but they just needed a little help from their friends and family to make them see the truth.
I have nothing but high praises for Ms. Douglas for showcasing a passionate love. A love that made your heart pitter patter and gives you the warm fuzzy feelings. Ms. Douglas completed my heart when she gave us the ending that we all knew Jared and Tate deserved. The writing was so consuming that you could feel every emotion that Jared and Tate were feeling. And as for the chemistry, this book was so intense and dripping with passion, love and devotion. Every raw emotion was captured and felt. Did I love this book? Absolutely! Would I want to re-read this book again? Of course, especially I could re-read the last 25% of the book and epilogue so many times!! Would I recommend this book and series? Absolutely YES!!!! So if you are a big fan of this series, this book is a MUST READ!!!
Aflame and this series is a reminder to us all that we are all human. We all make mistakes. Our past doesn't define our happiness and future. Love heals. And most importantly, life is about growing and learning from our mistakes. And Jared and Tate's journey of HEA was not instant but it was a journey filled with so many ups and downs but it was a journey they are learning to tackle together. A journey of forever. So I want to thank Ms. Douglas for bringing Jared, Tate, Madoc, Fallon, Jax and Juliet into our lives. Their story was like a puzzle, hard to piece together but beautiful when when all the right pieces are put together. And now Aflame is the final piece to the Falling Away series.
