Come Closer by Brenda Rothert is a heartrendingly beautiful poignant romantic suspense that takes readers on the cusp of an unexplainable tangible connection of two strangers in search of truth, redemption, and justice. In this newest sensation, Rothert sophisticatedly guides her readers into a whole new literary world where she beautifully blends romance with a touch of mystery and suspense. As she tackles this new direction, she brings forth a new light and style that begs readers to indeed Come Closer and fall in love with her words and emotionally flawed characters.
Daniel Delgado is a physician, who happens to work in a mental hospital. Daniel has decided that working in the institution in the outskirts of rural Montana is his repentance and a way to keep his demons at bay. There in Montana, work and his patients have always been his number one priority. His life has this routine that is until he meets a new patient that stirs something in Daniel.
Allison Cole is a survivor after witnessing the brutal murder of her twin sister. Shocked, scared and traumatized, Allison is admitted into a mental hospital in order to help her cope with her emotions. Her silence is a curse and blessing. But what happens when her silence forces her to come closer to the truth that she can’t escape that harrowing night? Will Allison find herself staying in the hospital permanently or will Dr. Delgado be the key to unlocking her silence?
The chemistry and connection between Daniel and Allison is indescribable. It is a magnetic pull between doctor and patient. Lines are crossed but when it comes to the matters of the heart, isn’t love worth the risk? Will Daniel find himself risking his job? His heart? His life for a patient that crashed into his life in just a few weeks?
Come Closer is a detailed slow burn romance that ignites all the feels as Rothert delicately tackles these sensitive subject matters of mental health, vulnerability, and raw emotions in a manner that was done in a heartfelt way. There was no judgement and label. Rothert allowed readers to see these people as human beings who deserves every respect, attention, compassion and care. And in the case of her hero, Daniel Delgado, he didn’t see a broken and damaged woman. He saw a woman worth rescuing and saving. So if you are looking for a romance that was a symphony of truth, magnetic chemistry, and suspense then I urge you to read Come Closer. Get lost in Rothert’s prose as she makes you fall in love with a forbidden romance that was sprinkled depth, mystery, steam, and beauty.
A deep addictive visceral emotional book that leaves you yearning and wanting for more. Boundaries will be pushed, love will be on the line, hearts will be broken, lives will be lost, and raw emotions will be coursing through your veins. That’s right my fellow romance fans, M. Robinson has found her niche in the book community as an author who will continue to give you the unexpected and in her newest release, Road To Nowhere, she takes readers down the road where chaos, passion, grit, and forbidden love collides.

“Everything I had done, I had done for my family, for the MC, for her… I fought for my fucking brothers. I fought for my goddamn country. I fought for my girl. Never realizing… I might fucking die for them too. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and all that fucking shit. I once read that every warrior hoped a good death would find him. I always went looking for mine, but not even the Reaper wanted me.”
I know there are some readers who will be wary when they are introduced to Creed and Mia. The age gap might scare readers but trust me when I tell you this book is more than physical attraction but knowing that your soul, mind and heart are linked to one person only. And for Creed Jameson, his heart and whole being belonged to the young girl that showed him what real love and sacrifice entails.
“I should have stopped her. I should have told her no. I should have done something, anything… Except allow her to close the distance between us.”
Creed Jameson was born into a life where chaos, death, and more chaos are an integral part of his being. Nothing is handed to Creed as everything has to be earned. Honor, friendship, brotherhood, respect and love had to be earned but one thing that came easily was winning the heart of Mia Ryder since her heart and being belonged to him from the get go.
“Countless women had touched me the way she was right in that moment, more times than I cared to fucking count. This was different. This was so meaningful, so emotional, so goddamn loving. This was Mia. My Pippin.”
When a nine year old Mia meets Creed, who happens to be 18 years old for the first time, a spark was formed. Lines of lust, friendship and love begins to be drawn out. Two souls spoke to each other on a deeper level. So fast forward to a couple years later, when a mature and old soul Mia finds herself at a crossroad in her life, wanting to be with a man that is dangerous and yet gives her the kind of love and affection that no one can give.
“So much love. So much everything. He. Wanted. Me. “No more bullshit between us. You want to be kissed, touched, fucked,” he groaned against my lips. “Then I fuck you. I’m claimin’ you, Pippin. You’re fuckin’ mine.” And I was. I always had been.”
Although these two star crossed lovers belonged to one another, they both must face a rough and angsty journey. The road to happily ever after is never simple as family, friends, secrets, and the past are standing in their way. Can a man who has built his life on the open road find a home in a girl that has complicated written all over her?
“I know who you are, Mia Ryder. From the second I saw you, and I’ve loved ya every day since for it.”
While M. Robinson did her staple anti-hero and forbidden love aspect, she pushed readers to a whole new arena where emotions runs deep. These raw emotions are the very essence as to why Creed and Mia demanded your attention. Their love was never meant to be easy. It was meant to be a journey that takes you somewhere. And so are you ready to embark on that Road To Nowhere?

“I'd found lots of things underwater, but none of them were ever worth much. Hurricane ravaged and owner error sunken fishing boats were the main hauls of our operation. Finding Dani was like finding the entire contents of the ocean floor in one well-kept, long, lean, and sexy package.”
Elizabeth Lee has somewhat become my new favorite go-to author. Seriously, she is one of those authors who deserves to be on the spotlight. I love reading her books and getting swept away with her romance novels. And in her newest series, she has readers coming aboard on her sexy, emotional, wet and wild second chance romance. So if you are ready to set sail, dive and anchor your hearts to one beautiful push and pull romance then all there is left to say...aye aye Captain!!!!
If you have been following my reviews, then you are well aware I am sucker for second chance romance and when I found out that Elizabeth Lee was writing an light angsty second chance romance, I couldn’t wait to get my greedy hands on this book..
“I wanted to find that ship more than ever . For her. And for me. The idea of putting down a marker on a map for this wreck was going to be the closure I didn't even realize I needed. It would solidify that I was good at my job. It would put an end to any of the doubt I had about being able to do this. That and it would also be the final chapter of my story with Daniella Alvarez.”
Below the Surface was a fun, fresh, modern day second chance love story that had the old world romance FEEL. Yes, I am talking about those romance novels where love is brimming to the max. And in Below the Surface, Elizabeth beautifully incorporated a romance that will have you wanting to find your very own treasure. LOVE.
Five years ago, Daniella Alvarez and Dylan McKendrie were madly in love with each other. Their lives revolved around each other. They were best friends. Lovers. Soul Mates. But when Dylan’s father died, everything changed. Decisions were made. Different paths were chosen. Dylan made the choice to leave and find work in order to support his sister. Dani stayed behind in Key West. Their love went off course and slowly it was sinking below the surface.
“As his hands swept sand away to reveal the broken wood and decaying wood below, I watched in awe. He was so meticulous with his movements. I was more inclined to wave my hands frantically to unearth what was below, he took his time. He made each movement with deliberation. I could have watched him all day. He was sexy when he was working the deck of the boat, or gripping the steering wheel with his commanding presence, but down here, in my world, it was even better. It was my two favorite things combined. The fluid hug of ocean and seeing the man I loved hard at work. I would have kept drooling into my mask, had he not motioned for me to swim over to him.”
Dylan took over his father’s failing business and turned it into a profitable business in marine salvage. When he left Florida Keys, he knew he left his heart with Dani as well. And so when his best friend, Cal calls him up with leads on this missing Spanish ship that was known to have treasures, Dylan found himself coming back home and facing Daniella Alvarez.
“As much as the possibility of getting hurt scares me, the possibility of not being with you hurts even more.”
Daniella Alvarez had love until the day Dylan left her for good. She wants to hate him for all the hurt that he caused her but deep down she knows the truth. She still loves him and has this lingering hope that they belonged together. And so when she saw Dylan, she is taken aback in seeing him after five years. When her friend Cal informs her that they found the missing ship that Dani has been searching for, how will Dani react to seeing her ex after five years?
Dani and Dylan’s relationship can only be described as a push and pull type. There is strong sexual tension brewing between them. Dani holds the resentment that Dylan didn’t stay for her. And Dylan holds the resentment that Dani didn’t want to go with him and his sister, Madison when he asked her five years ago. The hurt, the anger, and the resentment still lingers and so there is this constant back and forth of who is right. But one thing is for certain, the love that they have for each other is just as intense and strong as before. Their love didn’t sink. It was just waiting to resurface. Can Dani and Dylan find a way to work together and see what they are searching for might be a map right back to each other’s heart?
“I never felt more alive than I did diving a wreck. This is what I wanted to do with my life. This is where I was meant to be. It's too back mermaid wasn't a job possibility. I would have rocked a seashell bikini top. The only thing that would have stopped me from signing up immediately was the man I knew was waiting for me on the surface. Could I, would I, be able to give up warm air and clear waters of The Keys for a life in the frigid north east?”
I seriously LOVED this book. It had everything you could want in a second chance romance. It had humor, banter, sexual tension, romance, raw emotions, and of course, passion. Dani and Dylan were that couple you rooted for. That couple you wanted to put on time out so you can tell them what the hell are they fighting for. But they are also that couple who made you believe in second chances. That couple who anchored your hearts. That couple who finally saw what they have been searching for. That couple who had weathered the storm and found their peace, happiness and love. So if you are looking for a romance that weaves tragedy, beauty, hope, forgiveness, second chances, love and new beginnings then I urge you to read Below the Surface. Fall in love with Elizabeth Lee’s gorgeous prose. Fall in love with her characters. Fall in love with a story that Ms. Lee describes one part Into the Blue, one part The Longest Ride, and a dash of Pirates of the Caribbean.
A Fool For Love is a story that truly captures the meaning of love, understanding, finding oneself and the endless possibilities of what life has to offer. In Karen Ferry’s second novel, Ms. Ferry took a chance. A chance on a different kind of love story. She allowed readers to go behind the eyes of a young woman finding herself as she ventures out to a new city and discovers what truly matters in her life. And just maybe this new journey allows a young woman to find the love that she was missing.
Suzy has always been an open book. Open with her sexuality. She knows who is she is. She is bisexual. Love her or hate her but that’s who Suzy is. Her parents on the other hand have swept over their daughter’s sexuality and so when Suzy decides to move to New York City temporary, Suzy begins to be comfortable in her own skin. New city. New beginnings. And possibly new love.
Garrett on the other hand is a closed book. He is broken with a past and so when he meets Suzy, something about her openness and vivacious personality attracts him. As a much older man than Suzy, he tries to stay away since he doesn’t want to taint her innocence with his baggage and strong sexual desires. But what Garrett doesn’t realize, this young woman had awaken his dormant heart. When it comes to love, does love make you a fool?
Karen Ferry really exploits a real love. It is messy. It is raw. It makes you vulnerable. It’s two fools falling in love. And in this beautiful honest love story, Ms. Ferry showcases a story where love is for fools, wise enough to take a chance. So if you are looking for a story where depth, passion, growth, understanding, healing, and new beginnings are integrated into a beautiful love story then this book is for you. If Karen made you a believer in love in the first book, then she will make you a fool who is wise enough to let love in.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!! As one of my favorite authors and dear friend, Brenda Rothert continues to DELIVER a story that will melt hearts and have reader swooning! In her newest release, Bennett Brenda will show her readers there is nothing minor about Bennett as he scores major points in the sexy protective alpha hero department and an extra point for being an absolute sweetheart.
“Bennett: pros-Sweet.Loyal.Caring.Easy to be with.Highly attractive.Committed to our kid.Intelligent Sexy as fuck. Amazing in bed. Good at fixing things.Makes me feel good. Bennett: cons- Faces lots of temptation from other women ”
Bennett is the second book of the On The Line Series and can be read as a standalone but I highly urge readers to read Killian as well. So what is Bennett about?
Bennett Morse has only one thing on his mind and that is to make it in the NHL. As a minor league player, Bennett has dedicated his life in making it into the pros. And as a hockey player, life mostly consisted of the ice and of course puck bunnies. And there was no shortage of those. But as time goes by, Bennett is feeling that his life is at a standstill. Will he make it to the NHL? As Bennett contemplates his life and dreams, he meets a young woman that catches his eye.
Charlotte Holloway is a newly single attorney, who just broke up with her boyfriend. Angry that her ex stole her job promotion from her, Charlotte decides to drown her anger in a couple of drinks. While at the bar, she meets Bennett. They strike up a conversation and well one thing led to another and soon Bennett and Charlotte ended up tangled in the sheets. The following next day, Bennett leaves his number for Charlotte hoping that she calls. But the call never came. That is until...two months later.
“I cared for her so much it hurt sometimes. It was how I was feeling about Charlotte right now. My feelings for her were an out-of-control freight train, barreling down the tracks. I’d vowed not to let this happen again, but not only did I think it wasn’t possible to stop the train, I didn’t want to.”
Well fast forward to two months later, Charlotte is standing in Bennett’s doorstep and announces to him that she is pregnant and is the baby sister of Bennett’s teammate, Liam. Worrying about making it in the NHL and now a baby on the way, Bennett has a lot on his plate but he makes it known to Charlotte that he will be there supporting her with everything. As Bennett and Charlotte discusses their future plans, Bennett makes it known to Charlotte that they should try dating to really get to know each other and also see if there is something more. As they start this new relationship, Charlotte makes it known to Bennett that she wants to keep their relationship a secret for now since she doesn’t want to cause any friction between Liam and Bennett. But what happens when their secret is out? And what happens when Bennett’s insecurities and fears destroys his chance of a happily ever after with Charlotte? And can Charlotte let go of her fear of commitment?
“I love you, Charlotte. And that’s a hard thing for me to do and say. But I do. I love your strength and your smile and your intelligence. I love how you keep me on my toes. It’s never felt as good to make another person happy as it does with you.”
Brenda Rothert has seriously stole my heart when she introduced me to one of the sweetest, charming, and lovable hockey heroes that I have read. So as you can see, I LOVE BENNETT. Okay, let me reiterate it one more time… Bennett is a MUST READ!!!! Here is why you have to read this book. First and foremost, this book is so raw, emotional, touching, and heartfelt. Secondly, Bennett will score major points on the ice and off the ice. **wink** And lastly, Bennett has one of the most lovable hero that can make any hearts flutter with his honesty, devotion, and commitment. So if you are ready to be swept away in this sweet, raw and beautiful tale of love then I highly recommend you to read this book. If I am keeping score, Brenda Rothert has already won as she delivered two amazing minor league hockey heroes. And FYI, Brenda Rothert has been told Bennett Christopher Morse belongs to me.. hahha.
In this final installment of The Good Ol’ Boys Series, M. Robinson delivers a love story that is so heartbreakingly raw, poignant, devastating, beautiful and gripping. In the three previous books of the series, readers are given a glimpse of Austin, the youngest member of The Good Ol’ Boys but in this consuming installment, M. Robinson shows her readers the real Austin. The friend. The son. The lost one. The liar. The broken man. The lover. The drug addict.
Crave Me hands down has to be me my favorite book of the series. M. Robinson went beyond a typical love story. She showcased a love story between two broken individuals who had to endure the hardships, the ups and downs and everything in between in order to see what truly matters to them. This is a love story not meant to be easy. This is a love story that proves LOVE HEALS. A love between two imperfect individuals who loved every imperfection and saw beauty, hope, and trust within one another.
Addiction. That one word has already a stigma associated with it. Toss in drug addiction, then you are well aware of the downward spiral of destruction, devastation, and chaos this disease can affect the people you love and cherish the most. And for Austin, his drug addiction was his craving. His need. His demons. And most importantly, it was his salvation. So how can an addiction be a salvation? Well the answer is simple...Briggs.
They say love is beautiful. But LOVE has many different facets and sides. Love can also be consuming. Addicting. Blinding. And love can be destructive. And for Austin loving Briggs was all that and so much more. Their love was everything and yet it was their downfall. So how can a love so toxic be the one drug that is needed for Briggs and Austin to survive?
While I don’t want to rehash or spoil this book for the readers, I will just say one thing, M. Robinson wrote a story that was meant to be utterly addicting and consuming. This story was meant to put you to the ringer. To break your heart. But most importantly, this story was meant to piece every shattered piece of your heart and make you see the whole picture. Love is not meant to be easy. To love means to survive. To have hope. To fill in the missing void. And M. Robinson did that and so much more with this story. Crave Me is a story meant to be experienced since M.Robinson beautifully tackled a love story with the sensitive matter of addiction and loving someone who is addicted. Yes, this book is filled with angst, heartbreak, love, passion, and grit. But most importantly this book is filled with realistic elements of life.
As I try to wrap up my thoughts on Crave Me, I will just say this M. Robinson will douse her readers with all the FEELS. Yes, you will cry, get mad, and be screaming WTF but in the end, you will be left with a sense of peace and happiness. So if you are looking for a book that will hold you hostage with M. Robinson’s addicting prose and characters, then I urge you to read Crave Me and prepare yourself for one heartbreakingly profound love story. They say love is like a drug and so be prepared to get addicted to Austin and Briggs.
“As if words would be enough to keep us together. But, even though they were beautiful, they were just that. Words.”
Words. Three words. Yes, those three words could be used in order to describe this breathtaking, beautiful, sweet, and humble story of first loves, second chances, and that forever kind of love.
In Words I Couldn’t Say, Tessa Teevan promises her readers the kind of love story that will make your heart swoon with pure bliss and euphoria. She will make you believe in the power of love. The kind of love that every romance literary books talks about. The happily ever after kind. So are you ready to discover why I love this book so much and why Tucker Manning gives Jeremy Banks a run for his money?
“My life would be lived either with Ava by my side or completely alone. I hoped beyond hope the latter wasn’t the outcome.”
If you read Fusion, then you were introduced to Explosive Series sweethearts, Jeremy and Sierra Banks. If you haven’t read Fusion, don’t fret because it is not needed but I would highly recommend you do in order to understand the apple doesn’t fall from the tree. You see, Jeremy and Sierra were each other’s first love. They knew the moment that they laid eyes on each other that this love between them was the forever kind of love. Fast forward to the present, it is now time for Jeremy and Sierra’s baby girl, Ava Banks to tell her story in her own words how Tucker Manning is and will always be the love of her life.
Ava Banks and Tucker Manning were childhood best friends who found themselves falling for in love. They were inseparable as they were two pieces of the puzzles that fit together. She was the yin to his yang. There was no Ava Banks without Tucker Manning. And vice versa. So how could two fated people who belonged to each other find themselves separated for five years?
“Her eyes shimmered with unshed tears, and I knew, I fucking knew she felt it. She felt me. She felt my heart. In that moment, with no words spoken, we said everything that mattered.”
You know the saying if you love someone, let them go and if they come back to you, then you know they are yours. Well, when a family tragedy struck Tucker Manning’s life, his life was forever changed. Tucker found himself making a choice. A choice that was good and bad. A choice that left him regretful. A choice to let her go.
California and being an actress has always been Ava Banks dream. So when she decided to pursue her education and career, she left a big part of her life in Ohio. Not only leaving her family but she also left her heart with Tucker Manning.
Fast forward to five years later, Ava Banks finds herself back home in Ohio filming a movie that is based on the popular romance novel, Those Three Words by T.A. Bankman. While in Ohio, she hopes she can finally say those three words to Tucker and unbreak all the hurt that she may have caused.
“His lips crashed down on mine and his tongue immediately darted out of his mouth. He alternated between licking and sucking, like he wouldn’t be satisfied until he lapped up every last drop. That was when I learned how much I liked Tucker liking the taste of me.”
The reason for Ava Banks landing the lead role was due to the fact that Tucker wrote this popular romance novel. His book. His words. They were the reason that brought Ava Banks back and this time around, he hopes she can finally read between the lines and listen to his words. His heart. His truth.
The unspoken truth of words were the only thing that was separating Ava and Tucker. Words. Words. Words. An endless amount of words could be put into sentences as to why these two were fated and meant to be together. But these words were something that neither Tucker and Ava couldn’t say...till now. So will Tucker finally get to say these words and tell Ava to stay? Be with him? Love him? And will Ava finally earn Tucker’s trust back?

“You are my woman. You do not run from me. You run to me.”
Words I Couldn’t Say is a beautiful exploration of love, sacrifices, truth, forgiveness, and second chances. Tessa Teevan didn’t need to do much in order for me to read this book as she captured and tugged my heart with every facets of love. She allowed readers to feel the power and promise of real love. Real love doesn’t die and have no ending. And so if you are ready to give your heart and trust in Tessa’s promises in prose, then get ready to the know the words of real love.
In this seductively enticing romance, M. Robinson delivers yet again another complicated love story but this time with intricate layers and elements of first love, friendship, family, second chances, forgiveness, new beginnings, and a forbidden romance to get our hearts racing and yearning for more. With her wickedly beautiful and sinful prose, M. Robinson enchants her readers on all facets of love from first crush, first love, heartbreak, anger, lust, jealousy, and second chances. She sophisticatedly rivets her readers as she reminds readers there is nothing forbidden about love when it's your heart and true love on the line. So in this forbidden tale of young love, can two fated mates finally realize that true love isn't meant to be easy? That love doesn't appear on command and it'll put you through hurdles but in the end, none of that will matter because it's about how you overcome these hurdles that will define your love. So can a forbidden love prosper and shatter all the doubts, insecurities, and the people that stands in their way in order to prove that there is nothing forbidden about true love?
Forbid Me is the second installment of The Good Ol' Boys Series and once again, readers are reunited with a group of friends who grew up together and had their lives intertwined. Each moment of their life was ingrained and built on their strong love for each other. And so begins the tale when a friendship gets complicated and blurred, when Jacob Foster begins to start look at his best friend's little sister a little differently. When Jacob first laid eyes on Lilian Ryder, he always saw her and treated her as his little sister that is until when he finally saw a young woman standing before him. Soon Lilian Ryder became the apple of his eyes, the beat to his heart, and the air he breathes. So what happens when the lines of what is right and wrong begins to get blurred?
The seven year age gap of Lily and Jacob was one of the biggest factor that stood in their way. It was a constant reminder to Jacob that he's toying and walking a fine line with danger especially when he knows and should be seeing her as his best friend's little sister. But when attraction, lust and love soon begins to take precedence, Jacob and Lily find themselves at a crossroad in their relationship. To start something that could lead something so beautiful. Or take a chance on a love that could destroy years of friendship. As they could no longer deny their feelings for one another, how can something so wrong feel so right?
M. Robinson has truly stepped up and elevated her writing to a whole new level as she delivers a book that was filled with everything that I loved, craved, and wanted in a forbidden romance. Ms. Robinson has sensitively and sophisticatedly delivered a forbidden romance that will set hearts racing as readers realize that the love of Jacob and Lily is something that can't be stopped. I loved that the author was able to make readers FEEL all the raw emotions, heartbreak, and loss of Jacob and Lily as they faced the uphill battle of their relationship. M. Robinson did an amazing job highlighting and showcasing the passion and tangible bond that Jacob and Lily had for each other was built on a solid foundation of love, understanding and respect. Nothing about their love was tainted and forbidden when readers realize, see, and feel their true love coursing through each of the pages. So if you are looking for a book that speaks volumes on love, honesty, vulnerabilities, and second chances then I highly recommend you to read Forbid Me. The only forbidden thing about reading this book is denying yourself to read an epic love story between two fated lovers who were meant to have their lives entangled with one another.

Brenda Rothert is another author and friend that I adore and love. She has always been one of those authors who has always been on my auto-click list. And in her new release, Killian, prepare to fall in love with the bad boy hockey star who will steal your heart and melt your panties.
When you got yourself a hot alpha male and an independent fiesty sassy woman then you got a recipe for a smoking hot, sexy, and passionate romance. And did I mention this hot alpha male is a sexy hockey player...yes, ladies, Brenda once again will heat up those kindles with her newest sports romance book. Killian is one short sexy read that will have you begging for more Killian Bosch.
Since this book is a quick sexy read, I really don't want to spoil the book for the readers. But all you need to know is that this book chronicles a minor league hockey star and his romantic interest is none other than the hockey's team newest owner, Sidney Stahl. Both Killian and Sidney have this instant attraction and connection that will seriously melt the ice. There is no if, and or but about it, when Killian and Sidney are together, these two are a perfect match. They compliment each other's personality and fit each other sexually. Killian and Sidney's relationship on and off the ice is a blend of forbidden, sexy, and wanton love story. Can Killian and Sidney balance their working relationship and their personal lives? Can this bad boy hockey star melt the walls surrounding the Ice Queen's heart?
Brenda once again was able to treat her readers to another great sexy read. She was able to incorporate wit, sass, banter, and steam in this well-written book. And to top it off, she has one bad-ass heroine who shows that she can be successful on and off the ice.

When Tessa Teevan first told me that she was going to write a serial, I was like "YES, I can't wait!!" And then she told me it will be a romantic suspense and will have a major cliffhanger. My immediate reaction was like "OMG WHAT!!! Tessa Teevan is going to write a romantic suspense and there is going to be a cliffhanger!!!" If you are familiar with her work, then you would know this is not the typical romance stories that we are used to from her. Two thoughts were running through my mind. First, I was secretly jumping up and down because I was waiting for Tessa to branch out and trust me this author has so many amazing ideas for story lines that I knew what ever book genre she does decide to write, she will outshine. And my second thought was how fast can she write this story because I wanted this book STAT!!
Well we don't have to wait long because Instigation is finally here. And what a wickedly brilliant, consuming, and sinfully sexy story it was. Tessa Teevan completely surprised and shocked me with this book. And it was a good shock. The writing and story line was addicting and brimming with steam and suspense. The characters were written to be so mysterious and intriguing that you were immediately drawn to what secrets would be revealed and exposed. Instigation was the unfolding of truths that chronicles the lives of Adrian Morningstar, Gabriella Latham, and Rafe Matthews. Two men. One woman. Secrets that surrounds their lives. A truth awaiting to be reveal. And one emotional dangerous sexual awakening for a woman rediscovering and taking back her life. Are second chances worth the risk when the dangers of love becomes a game of cat and mouse?
Adrian Morningstar is an enigma of a man. So when Brie first met Adrian, she was intrigued when this sexy and alluring man that took notice of her. Attraction was buzzing between these two and instantly she was in a whirlwind affair with Adrian who literally swept her off her feet. He lavished her with gifts and trips. Adrian Morningstar was her prince charming in her fairy tale story or was he?
Rafe Matthews is another alpha male who made his presence well known to Brie. He wanted her. He knew he could be the one to make her see that she is a woman who needs to be worshiped and treated like a human not a possession. Not a woman who is being controlled and dominated. Not a woman who is afraid to USE HER WORDS. So when Brie and Rafe begins their romantic affair, he awakens a new burning sexual side in her allowing her to take charge in her personal life. So when one door closes and another opens, Brie finally begins to find her happiness and love in Rafe or will she. The appearance of Rafe Matthews was it planned or fated? Will Brie find herself in the same predicament of falling in love with men who have secrets? When the truth is about to be revealed as to who really Adrian and Rafe are, will it be too late for Brie?
Okay if you are reading this review and asking yourself if there is cheating involved. Don't worry there is no cheating. I think I will be shocked if Tessa ever wrote a book that had cheating in it. If you are asking yourself, if there is a cliffhanger. And my answer would be YES. There is a major cliffhanger and it will have you begging her for the next installment STAT. Do I have a favorite between Adrian and Rafe? Yes, I do. And I know the obvious answer of the majority would be #TeamRafe but Tessa knows that my loyalty lies with #TeamAdrian. So now you must be wondering if there is a love triangle for the heart of Brie...I don't want to spoil it for the readers but to ease your mind and curiosity just know like I said there is no cheating and do you honestly think Tessa would do that to her readers. She wouldn't torture and be cruel to her readers like that.
In the words of my favorite character, Adrian, he is known for saying the beloved phrase in the book: "USE YOUR WORDS." So I will use my words and tell you, GO READ INSTIGATION. Go experience and take a chance with this book. Be prepared for one deadly, sinfully, seductive romantic suspense that will have you gasping for more. I will just say that Tessa upped up the sexiness and steam in this book. It was a burning inferno between Rafe and Brie. The sexual chemistry was pure carnal, raw desire that was so rousing, bawdy, and titillating. I have nothing but high praises for Tessa for branching out in this new genre and I can't wait for the next installment as to what will become of Brie, Adrian, and Rafe. All I know is that after that cliffy ending, I am hooked and it has me wondering who is the true instigator? So my only advice is to INHALE, EXHALE, BREATHE, and HOLD ON TIGHT as Tessa take's her readers on one romantic suspenseful ride.
Ummm...Being BAD Never Felt So Good, especially when reading TEMPTING BAD by M. Robinson. Sinfully sexy and tantalizing!!! That pretty much sums up my feelings when I was reading this book.

Tempting Bad is a spin-off of the VIP trilogy and it chronicles the tale of Brooke, a VIP and Devon, a bar owner. In the previous books, we all got a taste of their distinct personalities. Did we really know them? Well, the answer to that is simple. Looks can be deceiving and behind their strong personalities, lies a facade. One is haunted by a past that continues to haunt his daily life. And one is blinded by hurt, anger, and sex when it comes to opening up her heart to LOVE. Can two broken people who comes from two different sides of the tracks mend their broken hearts and heal each other? They say LOVE can HEAL but is love enough to heal years of hurt and pain.
I know there are readers who are on the fence when it comes to liking Devon. But let me just say, that I actually liked him from the beginning of the series and I was so happy that he finally got his chance to finally have his side of the story of explained. There are two sides to every story and Devon is finally given the chance to be transformed from the misunderstood friend to the hero. Devon's past is truly heart-wrenching and devastating. His past is what makes Devon the way he is now. His tormented past could of have closed off his heart but it didn't. It made him a MAN worthy to be loved and to love.
Brooke, on the other-hand had a complete upbringing than Devon. Her wealthy upbringing and loving family was what every household envied. Loving parents, loving sisters, and a beautiful home. But behind the white picket fence, lies secrets. Secrets that would destroy Brooke once she learned of the truth. They say the truth can set you free but the truth only destroyed Brooke and left her an empty shell. The once happy Brooke who believed in love, fairy tales and prince charming is now left as a woman, who is cynical and doesn't believe in true love. Love is for the weak. Sex is for pleasure. And money and power are the only thing that matters. Or is it?
When Devon meets Brooke for the first time, he is instantly drawn to the feisty blonde bombshell. With sexual tension buzzing between these two, can these two strong personalities get along in and outside of the bedroom. And the answer is YES!!! It's EXPLOSIVE!! That's one way to describe their relationship. It's a game of push and pull when it comes to these two. She constantly pushes Devon to the boundaries when it comes to the sexual energy that she personifies. But Devon sees through Brooke's intentions, and shows her that he can play her game and outsmart her. What this little minx didn't realize was that slowly, he was breaking down the walls surrounding her heart. And what Devon wants is the real Brooke and not Brooke, the V.I.P. And Devon is the only one who can see past the makeup, fancy clothes, and money. He is the only one who can look into her eyes and understand everything behind them. So behind the most beautiful eyes, can Devon unlock the secrets and pain that Brooke hides?
Tempting Bad will tempt you with its heartbreaking, emotional, and of course it sinfully sexy story line. M. Robinson was able to create two broken individuals who are worthy of love and the HEA. Though their relationship is not what you consider the norm, but what relationship is perfect. In life we are all tempted to be bad and sometimes being bad can be justified when it comes to LOVE. When you truly love someone, sacrifices and compromises be made. And Brooke and Devon reminds us all that their LOVE is not PERFECT but their LOVE for each other is what TRULY MATTERS. So what can I say but go read Tempting Bad as M.Robinson will have you emotionally connected to Brooke and Devon.

The Fire & Ice series concludes and wraps up in its final installment of our beloved hockey players in the fifth and final book, Release. And Brenda Rothert not only deliver a book of perfection but she did it with so much grace and beauty. She will capture your attention with her eloquent, emotional, raw and heartwarming tale of Samara Cross and Orion Caldwell. In this breathtaking conclusion, Ms. Rothert will make your heart go pitter-patter for Orion and fall in love with the beauty of a love so simple and pure. Release will make you realize it’s not about finding love, but letting love find you. And in this beautiful tale, it will remind us all love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it. So be prepared as Brenda Rothert makes us see there is a reason why it’s called falling in love because you just fall.
It’s the off-season and Orion Caldwell heads back home to his hometown to spend time with his family. On the ice, Orion is known as the enforcer and the man to be feared for his defensive skills but once the uniform is off, he is the perfect gentleman. Unlike the previous male characters of the Fire & Ice Series, Orion is not your standard dirty-talking, dominant, and alpha male. I can only describe Orion as perfect. He is the perfect balance of sweet, caring, loving, and protective. Simply, he is the perfect book boyfriend. Back home, Orion wants to spend quality time with his niece and nephew. He is a family man and believes in loyalty, respect and love. He is a one woman kind of guy and doesn’t date or fool around. So when Orion heads to a local market, he didn’t expect to be enchanted with the woman behind the checkout. One look at her, he knew he wanted her because she had a beauty that affected him.
Samara Cross is not your typical heroine. She is shy, scared, and a little apprehensive when it comes to trust and giving away her heart. Samara’s past childhood and past abusive relationship has caused her to be wary of men. So when the hot NHL hockey player, takes notice of Samara, she wonders why her when there are tons of beautiful women for Orion Caldwell to take notice on. But through Orion’s persistence, he was able to worm his way into Samara’s life. And soon she finds herself letting go of the walls that she has built. Orion’s light shines bright and cast away any darkness in her life. For the first time in her life, she found someone who sees the beauty in her scars and pasts.
They say when you meet the love of your life times stops...well, that's true, when it comes to Orion and Samara. As romance fanatics, we love that happily ever after ending. But maybe its not about the happy ending. Maybe it’s about the story. And for Orion and Samara, their story is about a love so pure, true, honest, raw, and passionate. It’s a love that reminds us don’t look for someone who will solve all your problems but look for someone who won’t let you face them alone. And Orion and Samara were that couple.
Release is hands down my favorite of the series. This book was an absolute gem to read. Every sensual kiss, touch, and words spoke will spellbind you and make you fall in love. The beauty of this book was that it incorporated family, friends, brotherhood, sacrifices, and finding love and strength. So I want to thank Brenda Rothert for bringing life to these beloved characters that I cherish and have fallen in love with.
Brenda Rothert **Review also posted on Four Chicks Flipping Pages**
Unspoken by Brenda Rothert can be summed up as breathtakingly emotional and beautiful. This book captured my heart and had me tearing up. It rendered me speechless on how personal and close to home this book hit leaving me a beautiful mess. Ms. Rothert will take her readers on an emotional journey that circles on life, love, sacrifices, friendship, family and second chances. This was a journey that everyone should experience. The raw emotional connection of the hero and heroine was a bond that survived all odds and separation. In times of unspoken words, sometimes the bonds of love doesn't need to be said. It is felt. And so Ms. Rothert will make you feel as two lovers chronicle their love as they fight and claw their way to get it right the second time around.
Unspoken Words….Those unspoken words can be the hardest words to say because there is a reason why they are unspoken. Sometimes the words we leave unspoken are the most important ones that should have been said especially when it comes to LOVE. It seems broken hearts are often caused by the words left unspoken. And so begins the coulda, woulda, and shoulda. So when true love and fate is on the line, can those unspoken words be finally said? Or will they continued to be left unspoken?
Second Chances is one of the greatest gifts in life. It allows us to start over and get it right the second time around. This gift allows us to say the I love you’s and I’m sorry’s. So when two lovers are separated because of unspoken words, will they finally get their second chance to get it right? For Brady and Palmer, the coulda, woulda, shoulda comes into play. There was no doubt that these two people had a love that was deep and meaningful but when pride and unsaid words are left in the air, two hearts are left hurt and broken. Call it fate or whatever, when Palmer and Brady are reunited can they finally get it right this second time around? Will they finally utter those unspoken words that needed to be said?
In my opinion, Unspoken by Brenda Rothert is one of the best books that she has written so far. This book was emotional, heartfelt, raw, and captivating. It truly showcases the power of love, sacrifices, family, friendship, life, death, forgiveness and second chances. This was no ordinary love story because it was not only a love story between two lovers but also a story of family and how precious life is. One of the greatest gift in life, is to experience love whether it be between two lovers, friends, or family members. The beauty of love is that it heals and forgives. In this case, Palmer and Brady’s love is a testament that love must be fought. Love must be spoken. In love, pride must be left at the door. And in this case, it is so true when they say when you love someone you have to let them go and if they come back to you then you know its true love. Well in this case, time and distance proved that Palmer and Brady’s love could survive the odds. Unspoken will steal your heart. It will tug and pull on all the heartstrings. The emotions are raw. The writing and storytelling will capture your attention. And this book will leave you a beautiful mess. Though this book dealt with an aspect that I could relate to and left me in tears, the pain and experience was worth it. This book was cleansing in some way because it reminds us all that love is worth the sacrifice. And I highly recommend you to go read this book and have tissues on standby. Brenda Rothert

Shhh...Just Listen… Are you ready for one mind-fuck, suspenseful thrilling book ride full of twist and turns? If so, then Shhh...Gianna’s Side by M. Robinson is the book for you. M. Robinson will have you saying WTF, OMG, and at the same time have you swooning for one hot english teacher that can recite and whisper quotes and sweet nothings of Shakespeare. Shh..Gianna’s Side had it all from forbidden romance, friendship, sex, lies and betrayals. You know what they say the most dangerous lies are the lies you to tell yourself. So M. Robinson will take you on one journey where the lies, truths, and love begins to get blurred. And so begins the tale of Gianna Edwards, where her once secret life built on lies, deceit, and betrayals are exposed. They say the truth will set you free. Will this be the case for Gianna Edwards? Or are some lies better kept Shhhh..?
Young, beautiful, and raised from an affluent family, Gianna Edwards had it all. She had parents that adore her. A boyfriend that worshipped the ground she walked on. And lastly a best friend, whom she considers a sister in McKenzie Perry. She had it all and every reason to be happy and in love. But behind Gia’s eyes, lies a broken girl who is lost, unhappy and just living to exist and go through the motions. A girl who is living a life built on lies and pleasing her family and friends. Simply, Gianna Edwards is trapped in her good girl image.
It is so true when they say you can lie to everyone else, but you can never really lie to yourself. And for Gianna, this is the truth. Well the truth of the matter, Gia was looking for a way to separate herself from McKenzie and find her true identity. For so long, it was always Gia and Mack. It was like they were a packaged deal and the limelight was focused on her best friend, Mack. Being in the shadows of Mack, Gia wanted to break free. Free where she didn’t have to lie and just be G.
For the first time in a long time, Gianna Edwards finally felt free when she meets Mr. James Nichols, her high school English teacher. With sexual tension and chemistry brewing between the two, lines are crossed and lives are forever changed. The walls and facade that Gia thought she had perfectly manicured and perfected comes crumbling down, when Mr. Nichols can see the real Gianna Edwards. He doesn’t believes the lies she tells people. He sees G. They say you can’t help who you fall in love with, and in this case Mr. Nichols and Gia embark on one hell of a forbidden romance.
As Gia and James embark on their secret love affair, lives are forever changed. The love Gia has for James is forever imprinted in her heart and soul. The moment James entered her life there was no turning back. She belonged to him. And she was his. It was the kind of love that transcends all the odds and obstacles stacked against them. A romance filled with passion and love. A love so fierce that they are willing to cross a line knowing that there is no turning back. So what happens when lies and betrayals comes shattering down? A love gone horribly wrong? A mistake that can’t be taken back? And 18 years of friendship are gone in an instant?
One night, one mistake, and one lie ruined the lives of not just one person but so many others. And so in Shhh..Gianna’s Side, M. Robinson will take her readers on a journey of Gia on how that one fatal night forever changed her life. M.Robinson goes in depth of the struggles and inner turmoils of Gianna Edwards. There is nothing pretty or sugarcoating about it, Gia’s lies finally caught up to her. This is not a lighthearted story but a beautiful tale of raw emotions. Gianna Edwards is a woman exposed. Her sadness and heartbreak is written all over her face. Emptiness and void is filled with the abuse of alcohol and random sex. Her hatred for herself is on her skin. Her regrets and burdens lies deep within her. Her vulnerability is out there and apparent. Through this emotional and mindfuck rollercoaster of a story, can Gianna finally be released of her inner demons and find redemption?
What I love about Shhh… is that its not your ordinary love story. It is fucked up, raw, honest and real. The raw vulnerability and sadness is what made me love Shhh...Gianna’s Side. Life is not perfect. The truth hurts. And behind Gianna eyes, lies a woman wanting to shed all the lies, mistakes, and regrets. And so begins the tale of Gianna as she takes us on her version of the truth. I think this quote from Marilyn Monroe sums it best to describe Ms. Gianna Edwards:
"I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle. But, if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."~Marilyn Monroe
All I can say is, go read Shhh...Gianna’s Side by M. Robinson. It will take you on one mind-fuck of a roller-coaster ride full of twist and turns. And at the end of the book, you will be left saying WTF that was a brilliant ending. Expect the unexpected and hold on to the edge of your seats because M. Robinson will having you begging for more Gianna and Mr. Nichols. Oh and as for HEA ending, I guess you have to go and read Shhh...Gianna Side.. let me just tell you the pure brilliance of M. Robinson is that she keeps her readers on their toes and guessing.

They say love hurts, but that is not true. Loneliness hurts. Rejection hurts. Losing someone hurts. Jealousy hurts. Love can get blurred with these things. But in reality love is the only thing in this word that matters and that can cover up all the pain and make someone feel alive. And for Ysa and Sebastian the journey of finding that happily ever after is one long emotional and touching tale of rediscovering each other. It is easy to give your heart to someone but its harder to keep that love alive and burning with passion when secrets, fears, jealousy and lies can destroy not one but two lives. And so begins the tale of Ysa and Sebastian as they rediscover what truly matters in life? Will the past of their sins and mistakes continue to haunt them? Or will their journey lead them back together? Is their love worth fighting for? They say in order to know if its real love, you have to let them go and if it comes back to you then you know it was meant to be. Will one of them be coming back?
MVP by M. Robinson is one emotional heartbreaking and yet sexy story of two lovers connecting, rediscovering, and learning again. Though their love affair might not be of fairy tales, it is a love story like no order. What started out as an affair, blossomed into a love where two souls connected and intertwined as one. The hardest part of loving someone with a past is accepting their past love and life. Insecurities, doubts, and fears may have played a big factor in Ysa's turmoil of what is right and wrong, but Ysa's growth as a character has truly blossomed into a young woman rediscovering her inner strength. She may have once been a VIP but that does not define her. What defines her now is her love for her family, friends, and Sebastian. The raw emotional vulnerabilty of Ysa will capture your heart because you understand the depth of a woman trying to make up for her past mistakes especially when it came with Julia and Christian. And as for Sebastian, the love and devotion he has for Ysa was never doubted but what I truly love about this book is his strength to finally voice out his concerns and anger. Love is not watching in the sidelines but it is also making a stand. And in doing so, Sebastian has come to a crossroads in his life where he must learn that sometimes letting to is the best thing to do.
What can I say but what a sexy, emotional, heartbreaking ride M. Robinson took her readers on. I will be the first to admit, I hated Sebastian in VIP there was no ifs and or buts. I didn't like his character at all. I didn't think he was book boyfriend material. But you know what, my opinion on him changed drastically in MVP. Sebastian has truly evolved and grown as a redeemable and worthy man. I found myself liking Sebastian a lot in MVP because M. Robinson finally made readers like myself see the vulnerability and loving side of Sebastian. I love a book when an author can make you see that we are all flawed and no one is perfect. The love of Sebastian and Ysa is not perfect but what true love is. The beauty of love is not seeing the imperfection but accepting that their imperfect love is perfect for them. And for Ysa and Sebastian, their love doesn't need to be perfect but it just needs to be true.
I had the pleasure to beta read Seven Days by Josie Leigh and I must say Josie completely left me stunned and in awe with this new genre direction that she went. Seven Days was so different from her previous books, The Professor series and I am loving this new genre that Josie decided to embark on. From the very first page, this book had me devouring it in one sitting. I was completely mesmerized with Josie’s story-telling and how she was able to incorporate so much emotions into this book. Seven Days is one of those books that will grip and touch you emotionally. Life is truly a journey filled with ups and downs. And in Seven Days, Josie Leigh takes her readers on a truly emotional raw journey of finding love and light.
At 22, Carrie has lived a life that no one should have gone through. Her life is not full of rainbows and flowers but instead it is filled with sadness, regret, loss and disgusting memories. With a druggie father, Carrie is left to support her family. Carrie could have left her trailer park life behind and start anew, but she stays behind because of her younger sister, Britton. With money being so tight, Carrie is left with only one choice. It’s a choice that was taken away from her at young age where she is left degraded, humiliated and used. Yes, Carrie made choices that one may disagree with but given the options and circumstances in her life and living situations, your heart will ache for what she goes through to make sure her baby sister is safe from adults, who should know better. When Britton turns 18, Carrie and Britton decides that there is only one option for them: To run away and leave their troubles, past and haunting memories behind and start anew.
When Ryan Kelly wanders into the diner and spots Carrie for the first time, he knew that she was special and he wanted to get to know her. He offers Carrie a chance of seven days to spend with him and show him around Arizona. Carrie is hesitant but with the persuasion from her sister, she finally caves in. This road trip was an eye opening experience for Carrie to finally relax, be free and live. Ryan shows Carrie there is hope and endless possibilities for her. In the seven days spent together, love was also found.
“The first time I saw Carrie, she literally stole my breath. She was so beautiful. The loss and pain radiated from her in a way I felt into my bones. I wanted to pull her into my arms and guard her from the horrors of the world, but something told me that she knew all about them and could take care of herself.”
The raw chemistry and connection between Ryan and Carrie was just perfect. Ms. Leigh worked her little magic showing how strong of an emotional and physical connection these two had. I absolutely loved Ryan. He was swoon worthy and I personally think he is just perfect. For him to accept Carrie and her troubled past was pure love. The journey that Ryan and Carrie was one epic touching tale of self discovery, love and hope.
Ms. Leigh took her readers on a journey that will put you on an emotional moving tale that will grip and touch you. Seven Days was an unforgettable book and I highly recommend it.
