From the viewpoint of a wolf family, Little Pup wants to know why they only have one child. Mama and Papa explain that it is the family that God has given them up to this point and may be the only child they have. It is pointed out how others have a lot more in their family but that is what God has given them. It is also mentioned that some parents choose to adopt, and some children are raised by grandparents. And it is also talked about how we are part of a bigger family, like a pack or cousins. I personally related it to include a church family. Sweet story for children to hear or read with lovely illustrations by David Holn. ...more
Coloring God's Love for Me is a very nice devotional for children with heavy weight pages to color with markers, gel pens, pens, pencils, and crayons.Coloring God's Love for Me is a very nice devotional for children with heavy weight pages to color with markers, gel pens, pens, pencils, and crayons. It has topics that are on a child's level and might concern children, both those of happiness and anxiety, school or family issues. Included are scripture references that reassure the child of God's love for them His protection, and direction. There is an option for the children to write down thoughts and questions with the suggestion of learning verses. The book has some nice pictures to color and other activities, such as a maze. The book is rated for children 6 to 9 but I feel that my six-year-old grandsons might need some help reading the text. The coloring pictures are lovely but a little complex for younger children so my thoughts are that the age group could go higher than nine years old. That being said, this is a great thought provoking and comforting devotional with activities to engage the child and give them reassurance. It is a definitely a book that I will keep in mind for my grandchildren. I received a complimentary sample ARC from Thomas Nelson and NetGalley. I was able to read the book on my Kindle and see pictures on the NetGalley app on my phone. All thoughts and opinions are mine only....more

WThis is a unique telling of the story of the birth of Christ as that of the observation of a mouse, Marvin Mouse, living in the stable in Bethlehem. With the sweet telling of the story and nice pictures, it makes for a great book for young children, giving them something to imagine, that of a mouse in the stable on that night seeing the Baby, Kings, and angels. Marcin Mouse makes a decision to follow the Baby King after seeing the birth. At the end of the book, questions to ponder and Luke 2 are included giving the background to the story and great for children of all ages as well as adults. This would make a great gift for children. I received a download copy of the book from BooksGoSocial and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only....more
