Ruby aims to get all her children happily married and Ryder is in her sights. The nanny to his twin nephews is a perfect choice. Ryder's sister died and left him in charge of the four-year-old boys. Elise and Ryder are from opposite backgrounds. One of wealth for her and one of poverty for him and they see money differently. It was fun to watch their relationship develop and understand each other, and see the boys calm down into a manageable situation. This is a delightful story of love, family, faith, and happiness. Now who is next in Ruby's sight? I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review from the author. All thoughts are mine only.

The story starts off in Massachusetts after the Revolutionary War when James Gould, a young man hurt by betrayal, heads south for a new start and with a lifelong hope to build a lighthouse. I could envision the lovely beaches and coastal marshes of the area. I listened to the story by Tessa Richards, and it was an enjoyable story of the hardships, struggles, and triumphs of the time period....more

Nick Marshal is her adventurous one, working around the world, doing all kinds of jobs, rarely coming home to Georgia. He is back for the summer working as a park ranger in a state park to help his brother Logan along with his sister's upcoming wedding. Cara Andrews is a single mother of triplets, enrolled in summer camp at the park. The two haven't seen each other since high school when they weren't good friends. In a pinch, Cara agrees to take on the job as camp cook when the regular cook breaks her leg. An attraction that neither expected nor wanted developed but where could it go? No where. Right? This is a sweet story with bumps, hurdles, and a scare from Ruby. Laurel Blount knows how to write a story that grabs you from the start, makes the characters come alive, and all with a faith thread full of wisdom and what matters the most to everyone's true happiness. I have enjoyed this series so much and hate to see it end. I received a copy from the author for the purpose of an honest review....more

I liked the characters and pulled for them to find happiness. Luke moved from Chicago to give his son Jeremiah and himself a new start, as they recover from the loss of his wife, who died a couple of years prior. Jeremiah is especially having trouble dealing with the loss. Luke blames himself for his workaholic lifestyle. His wife always wanted to live in coastal Georgia so this seems the right decision. Emma is reeling with a divorce from her husband who she found out was cheating. Thankfully, she has her sweet dog, Riley, and has started a dog treat company to supplement her teaching sub job. When Luke and Emma meet, they have an instant connection but with Jeremiah's problems, they have to be careful. This story pulls on heartstrings with both Emma and Luke's past to overcome and move on. It is great book for those who love romance and second chances. The Saint is a fictitious resort on the lovely coast of Georgia where the rich are members and guests called the Saints and th0se who cannot afford to stay at the resort are the Ain'ts. Traci was an Ain't until she married into the family. Now a widow, she is CEO and President of the resort, against the likes of her nasty in-laws. Her brother-in-law Ric and father-in-law Fred can't change her place in the family business as her husband's will dictates. Ric runs the real estate portion of the business. It is summertime and the resort is getting busy, but events happen to hinder things. We get flashbacks from when Traci and her friend Shannon were teen lifeguards at the pool and tragedy struck. This story is a rich tale as MKA is known for with interesting characters, both likable and ethical as well as unlikable and unscrupulous. It has long held secrets and new secrets, thievery, suspense, murder, romance, and downright meanness. Buckle down for a wild ride. Coarse language. As with her other works, this is a heartwarming Christmas tale sure to bring a smile. But not at first. This is based on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The Scrooge is Alexis Taylor who threw herself into her career twenty years ago when her parents died on Christmas Eve, forsaking love, friends, or anyone who could leave her. And she especially does not celebrate Christmas personally. She owns a very successful finance company and lacks nothing monetary. An interesting Christmas Eve visitor or two helps her put her life into perspective and helps her see where her future is heading. Lovely ending. I received a copy of the purpose of an honest review. Ruby cared for and raised kids, with a good basis in faith, that the foster system failed and now she is making sure that they all have their happy endings in love. When Ruby collapsed her daughter Torey left her dream job in Atlanta to take care of her and temporarily help run the Hope Center for children. Patrick is fostering a brother and sister with hopes to adopt them one day. He is also helping with the Hope Center, which is awkward since he and Torey have a past that didn't end well. This book touched my heart with the lovely characters and their heartbreaking stories that made me hope that all would end well despite some rough obstacles. This has a heartwarming ending sure to bring a smile to your face, a story of family, forgiveness, and love. I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review, and these are my thoughts....more

Emma works with computers, loves video games, and is sloppy and a casual dresser, with her friends. Her life is compartmentalized, showing her friends and church one side of her, her family another side. Carter is an artist, conservative in his dress, neat as a pin in his home and life. But Emma intrigues him at an art show and he wants to get to know her better. What a time they have together, two opposites, but they do become close. Will their differences be a deal breaker? But the story goes deeper than that as Emma comes to a point where she has to realize that she can be herself with everyone and Carter sees that he needs to overcome his snobby and self-centered view. of the arts. Sweet ending. I am looking forward to reading Emma's twin sister's story. I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review, and these are my thoughts....more

This one pulls on the heartstrings Colleen Coble's books have been an automatic read for me for many years and Fragile Designs is another reason why. This one pulls on the heartstrings with a suspenseful, edgy story, including a romantic flair and touch of inspiration and faith. Carly moved in with her grandmother after losing her husband before he knew he was to be a father. Carly always puts her family first and when she finds what she thinks is a Faberge egg in a chest left to her by her great grandmother, she wants to include her ungrateful, selfish sisters in the event that it brings in money. What she didn't expect is to be in danger along her loved ones. Her neighbor, Detective Lucas Bennett, comes to her rescue but he has not liked her since she and his brother broke up years ago. He realizes pretty quickly that he was wrong about Carly. This is a page-turner with lots of action, danger, suspense, and mystery. This one has a great setting of low country of South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia. A full slate of likable and some unlikable characters, including Carly's sweet baby Noah. There is so much to absorb in this emotional story of Claire and Stephen, all hurting from bad choices that make such an impact on lives as a stone thrown in a pool of water makes waves. Claire and Stephen are going through a difficult time because of a mistake Stephen made breaking their marriage vows. Claire has unresolved issues she hasn't faced but not to excuse Stephen by any means. Claire did not want to leave Denver, but Stephen accepted a position in Atlanta, bought a house sight unseen, and all without consulting Claire. But God used this antebellum house as a healing move for Claire as she discovers the life of Charlotte, former owner of the home. In a fit of anger, Claire hits a wall in her bedroom discovering a secret room and the life of Charlotte from 150 years ago. She read about Charlotte's life in the pages of her journal. Such pain and sadness are poured on the pages of her journal with the story of her dead beloved husband and five babies and her life with an abusive husband. Both women are going through such pain and hurt, and Charlotte's life and faith are touching to Claire and her new friend Bernice, with the local historian group. This story is so intertwined with the lives and experiences of characters touching each other with a sense that only God could have brought them all together for redemption, healing, and resolution. The is a rich story that is touching and memorable with so many great faith lessons to take away and wonderful secondary characters. Tamera Alexander captured the characters' emotions and feelings so very well. Well done! Lovely and highly recommended. I went back forth listening to the story and reading on my Kindle. Erin Bennett did a lovely job narrating the story....more

Lots of unresolved issues going on in this installment. In the meantime, Viola is loving the island life and is working the busier crowds at the restaurant.
