I hate this FMC, Reyna, with the passion of many fires. So I looked ahead at other reviews and learned that she remained TSTL, close-minded, arrogant, and bigoted for quite a while. So I gave up and DNF'd this book.

I don't know why I thought I could read a book about bullying and abuse from MMCs when I already know I despise abusive men and have zero capability of ever forgiving them.
I think I was hoping the bullying wouldn't be beyond my forgiveness threshold, but it was.
I tore through the first two books in this series and I was really enjoying the story.
...HOWEVER...
The thing about good 2.5 Stars - Unforgivable MMC
I tore through the first two books in this series and I was really enjoying the story.
...HOWEVER...
The thing about good stories is that there has to be movement, plot progression, and character growth. There has to be progress. Everything about this story was stagnant.
Easton was the only character in this series who changed or showed any growth. He was a cruel bully in book 1 and 2. There are hints that he is cheating on his fated mate and having sex with OW. He flat-out reviles her and tells her he'd be better off if she were dead. He tells her the only reason any of her fated mates wants her is because of the bond, and they don't like or care for her as a person. He was awful. But in book three, he really works to make up for it. He earns his place in the harem and the bond. He proves he's trustworthy.
Maddox, on the other hand, is a complete dildo from the beginning to end He did nothing to prove his love. He did nothing to make up for three entire books of cruelty. He had about two seconds of being nice in book one, and then he was so unforgivable for so long that there was no coming back for him; he just kept getting worse and worse. I DNF'd this story at 70% when FMC accepted Maddox without even a token apology.
FMC stayed the same throughout all three books. She had no character growth whatsoever. She finally manages to shift, but then she acts like shifting is an inconvenience and something she has no interest in. By the time I stopped reading at 70 percent, she had shifted for probably five minutes throughout the entire series. She didn't get tougher, or stronger, or braver. She didn't get any of the extraordinary royal powers she's supposed to get...unless she figures them out at the very end.
The plot progression stalled completely until the very end.
I'm not even sure how this is the last book in the series because I have no idea how the author could possibly manage to wrap up all the storylines in the last 30 percent of the final book.

Partway through the first book, I realized that while this might be a standalone, it's too interconnected in the series to be read as such. There are about a million different people and couples who we're already supposed to know, a world that we're already supposed to be familiar with, and villains who we are already supposed to suspect.
I like the story, but I would have to start this series from book one.

I tried really hard to like this book. I wanted to like this book, except the author made that extremely hard to accomplish. I really didn't want to DNF and write a bad review...but here we are.
I just want to say...
WHY IS THERE NO WORLD BUILDING??!!
For the majority of the book I was terribly confused about many things. We honestly have no insight into this world at all. Are there designations? I thought so, but maybe not? Is FMC an omega, or do all female wolves have a heat? It sounds like it's more of a social hierarchy than a designation hierarchy, but I'm not entirely sure. Why did they need to pull strings for FMC to be admitted into Beta Wolf Academy? Who are the 'old ones,' and does everyone keep referencing them but not explaining? We are literally told nothing about this world. It's frustrating. I'm frustrated to the point of anger.
WHY IS THERE NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMET??!!
None at all. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. There is no relationship development either.

It's my fault that I read this book, disliked it, and ended up DNF'ing it. I got this book as a freebie from the Romance Bookworms "StuffDNF - Unrated
It's my fault that I read this book, disliked it, and ended up DNF'ing it. I got this book as a freebie from the Romance Bookworms "Stuff your Kindle" event. I read the short description, and it noted "surprise/secret pregnancy," "friends to lovers." and "football romance" tropes. It sounded amazing! But I didn't think to look at Amazon or Goodreads' description. Therefore, my expectations were completely different from the reality of this story.
Also, I think the writing could have been better. All the characters, especially MMC, had flat personalities. Kenny (worst name ever) was dull to read about, and I couldn't stand him.
However, I couldn't get into this book because I expected FMC to become pregnant by MMC and have to keep it a secret from him. The fact that FMC got pregnant through IVF, with twins, by her BFF's husband and was giving her biological children to her infertile bestie threw me off big time. The fact that FMC didn't actually want to do it, didn't really want to give her kids away, and was depressed about the whole thing was the nail in the coffin. FMC felt like she owed her BFF for helping her while she grew up in foster care. She thought she needed to prove to her BFF that she was worthy of friendship. It just made me feel like the entire deal was even worse.
I'm not interested in reading a story like this. It was bringing me down emotionally, and I don't need that....more

Nope.
I despise this FMC. She is a horrible person who uses her poorness/homelessness as an excuse to steal things from people who are helping her. She is also a Negative Nancy to the extreme! She is constantly expecting the worst, and she has thoughts like I imagine Eeyore would have: "I'm just a dirty street rat," "No one loves me," "As soon as they realize I'm not good enough, they will leave me like everyone else"... and on and on and on she goes. We get it! At least TRY to help yourself, girl. Don't just give up like a loser!
I couldn't read one more miserable word from this awful girl....more

I pretty much despised everything about this book. I read 30% straight through and heavily skimmed the rest.
Molly is an omega, and despite not wanting an alpha or a pack right now, she ends up falling for a hockey player. It turns out that the hockey player already has a pack, and it's too late to turn back now because she's already bonded. When Molly meets the pack, they are awful. They think she's a money-hungry whore and treat her as such throughout the entire book. By the time the last alpha comes around, the book is 85-95% complete. He never apologizes or makes up for treating her like shit, and I'm not inclined to forgive him. At no point in this book does that rotten alpha treat Molly like she's his precious omega mate. But he does decide to screw her, so I guess it's all good now?
No
This was a stupid book, and I wish I could just forget I ever opened it. However, I needed to bookmark it, mark it as 'read,' and write a review to ensure I never tried reading it again. ...more
You know, there is almost no actual romance or emotional intimacy between the two main characters in this story. However, 2 Stars
This book was weird.
You know, there is almost no actual romance or emotional intimacy between the two main characters in this story. However, there is a lot of insta-lust.
The Insta-lust hits them both so hard you'd think FMC was an Omega going into heat and MMC was a feral Alpha. I'm serious. It was so over the top you'd think this book was going to turn into straight porn. Except this was a low-steam novel.
I also thought it was in poor taste for these two characters to get frisky with each other when she was on a date with another man - twice. That's tacky and bad form.
Anyway, I read straight through the first 40% and then skimmed heavily afterward. Maybe I'd appreciate this book more if I was in a different mood? *snort* Unlikely....more
