The thrilling mystery of Elizabeth's abduction continues in this fast-paced, page-turner of a book.
Elizabeth is free and married to Mr Darcy but Mrs Darcy's abductor is still on the loose. He pays a visit to another county and makes havoc before the horrible man descends on Meryton...
The newly wedded Darcys are still finding their roles in their marriage. Not any easy feat with Miss Bingley at their feet. And what's up with Mr Bingley?
To be continued...
PS: Love this portrait of Mary. She is just hilarious albeit unintentionally...

Hooked from page one, I absolutely loved this nerve-wracking and engaging tale of betrayal.
The story deviated from canon from the beginning. There was no insult at the assembly but love at first sight. A short courtship later our dear couple was married and happy at Pemberley. A trip to London would destroy the relationship through the lies and cunning of a villainous lady. One must keep in mind that Mr Darcy had not had his setdown from the disastrous proposal at Hunsford and doubted Elizabeth's love for him when a devious mind conspired against them. It ended in a disaster surpassing Hunsford by a tenfold. A long separation ensued although it was not a lengthy separation in page-time... Together again but at odds, the Darcys relationship was beautifully developed into reconciliation. The reader was afforded plenty of happiness at the end to reset their equilibrium after the previous angst fest.
I loved the plot, both Elizabeth and Darcy performed heroic acts of unselfish kindness.

Certain things catch your eye, but pursue only those who catch the heart. (Ancient Indian Proverb)
Elizabeth was injured in the fire and the book dealt with the social repercussions such an injury might have. I adored this rendition of Darcy who proved to be less superficial but exceedingly blunt. It is something refreshing about those who speak their mind, I believe...
I found the story a tad dry in its execution, hence the deduction of one star.

The disastrous hunsford proposal was interrupted by the news of Mr Bennet's death. Elizabeth hadn't answered, Darcy thought she had... Elizabeth let Darcy keep his misconception when Collins wanted to take over Longbourn immediately.
The truth has a way of making itself know. There was a quarrel and the animosity that erupted between our dear couple was very well done. The road to HEA was frought with misunderstandings, jealousy and a great loss.
It was a good story and a thrilling plot, with intimate interludes in between laugh out loud moments.

I have a penchant for a badass Darcy and this story certainly delivered in that aspect. I thought he was fabulously portrayed but so was Elizabeth. Strong and independent with a discerning mind.
I would rate it high angst but the plot took a twist that I struggle to stomach... (It was not drawn out nor was it rubbing too much salt in the wound though).
Georgiana visited her brother at Netherfield. Unfortunately, rumours about her ruin were spread through the Meryton society and Elizabeth was the only person who knew. Darcy naturally drew the conclusion that Elizabeth had been telling the tale, creating adversity between ODC.
Circumstances, I have no inclination to reveal, landed Elizabeth in the hands of a sinister group of men that profited on selling women at auctions...

The book followed the timeline of canon up to a certain point. Although there is no trip to Rosings nor Pemberley, much of the events was there but with a twist or two, some who was an utter surprise.
The attraction between ODC was instant. Darcy fought to keep his emotions in check because of Elizabeth's lack of magic, the Colonels ability to read his thoughts and the presence of Mr Wickham. Elizabeth needed no more incentive than a certain rude remark but the gentleman invaded her dreams...

Dating Mr Darcy was a fun, light and airy, angst-free read, it had me laughing out loud on several occasions.
Emma enters a reality tv show to promote her activewear, not to fall for Sebastian alias Mr Darcy. Naturally clumsy, she does a fabulous backwards on her rear entrance and the stage is set for the insult.
I would have added the last star if I had actually liked Emma. She comes off as a tad too coarse and simple. It is my pet peeve, I like my heroines strong...

Something to drive the story forward in addition to Darcy's and Elizabeth's romance where obtuseness from the lady's account was the impediment.
