Beautifully written and sweet forced marriage scenario. But... I found the storyline somewhat grating. Both are in love but they do not talk to each other and interpret everything the other says or does in the worst possible way. Perhaps I have too little patience but it became grating before I reached the halfway point.
Enters with Georgiana making a surprise visit to her brother at Netherfield. She was particularly well portraited in this story and I liked this twist very much. A debacle at the Netherfield ball enforced the marriage between our dear couple and the rest of the story evolved mostly around the development of their relationship after this troublesome start. I was not fond of how that was achieved but it was well written. Richard made an appearance and played a vital role in the Wickham debacle that had a twist compared to canon. Richard was another character that I particularly liked in this book. In addition, chickens played a vital role which was unique to this book. I have reared chickens myself although I am not quite as mesmerized with them as Elizabeth was...
Recommend for those who are particularly fond of misunderstandings.
Hilarious! Oh my, what an hysterically funny book!
The adaptation into the modern era was very well done. Only a ghModer Pride and Prejudice variation.
Hilarious! Oh my, what an hysterically funny book!
The adaptation into the modern era was very well done. Only a ghost of the timeline from canon was there but that gave it the unpredictability that I love. Rated: M. Although there are no explicit sex scenes in this book, it had a generous amount of random nudity at the most inappropriate moments, a lot of innuendoes, sexual tension and a colourful language ( the f... word etc).
Elizabeth had to postpone her studies after her father had an accident, to run Longbourn farm. The handsome Mr Bingley purchased Netherfield and was turning it into a conference centre but not before his sister had offered it to a film crew for a week or two. Snickering wickedly... There was a trip to Kent, (prepare to be surprised), and a sojourn to Pemberley (even more surprises). Ends in a HEA, sort off...(There was a wedding). Their future happiness is somewhat reliant on Mrs Bennet. Had my conflict-shy self, been in Darcy and Elizabeth's shoes, I would have lost it.
To be continued and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next instalment. Will have to be content with rereading this one in the meantime.

Mansfield Park is Miss Austen's least romantic tale (I believe) but a great character study. A controversial book, rife with adultery, betrayal, social ruin and broken friendships, spiced with Austen's gentle satire. It proves that strength and bravery can come wrapped in quietude and grace as opposed to loud and forward behaviour in the heroine of a book. Fanny Price is sort of a Cinderella coming from a poor family to live with her wealthy cousins but not in any way as their equal. I struggle more with our hero, Edmund Bertram but I guess he will grow on me by my next reread of this book.
MP is perhaps reflection-heavy but I do not mind when the reflections are beautifully written. Another advantage to this particular edition is that it is in Jane Austen's original spelling, it has not been altered...

A compelling and engaging read with a dark ambience when Darcy and Elizabeth reunite after a twenty years separation.
The years had not fared gentle with either of our dear couple. Particularly Darcy's misfortunes had been to such an extent of depriving him of every happiness. It was not all gloomy though... I have wanted to read this book for a few years but dreaded the angst. I had not needed to because there are glimmer of hope, early on in the book. Beautifully written!

A book about grief and second chances. It was inspired by Jane Austen's Persuasion although I thought it read better when I quit comparing the two very different stories...
A slow burner, I prefer fast-paced so this was a bit of a struggle to finish. It had some lovely emotional moments but it dragged a lot and the second rejection lacked plausibility.
A light-hearted and funny as well as moving and romantic book. A thoroughly entertaining and compelling read. I thought Rom-com inspired by Jane Austen
A light-hearted and funny as well as moving and romantic book. A thoroughly entertaining and compelling read. I thought the way this book managed to covey the essentials from Jane Austen's Persuasion was cleverly done while keeping it unpredictable and plausible.

An Elizabeth rescues Georgiana in Ramsgate story.
Elizabeth had taken the position of companion, after her father passed, and was currently residing in Ramsgate when she rescued Georgiana from Wickham. After a little detour, she ends up as Georgiana's companion but her first impression of the brother was far from good... I really liked this emotional detached Darcy, it makes the influence Elizabeth has, all the sweeter. I liked the character development in many of the others as well. The author leaves some of the events off the pages, making the plot a tight one which I heartily appreciate. In addition, the plot takes some creative and unexpected twists and turns.

Entered at Kent with backstory from their interactions in Meryton through Darcy's diary entries. Twists to Lydia and Mr Wickham was had before Elizabeth's trip with the Gardiners. From then on, the story ventured off canon and was a sweet read but it was halfway through the book before the"interesting" bits occurred.
I absolutely loved this modern variation of Pride and Prejudice! Fast-paced, romantic, intriguing characters, captivating and hilarious, Unputdownable!
I absolutely loved this modern variation of Pride and Prejudice! Fast-paced, romantic, intriguing characters, captivating and hilarious, well-written banter. A must-read.
Mr Bingley had coerced Mr Darcy into hiring his sister-in-law Elizabeth as an attorney. Darcy thought that finding Mr Hurts replacement could have waited and was very vocal in expressing it. Unfortunately, Elizabeth overheard him and her dislike was instant. Darcy, on the other hand, took a week or two to realise his mistake. The annual, corporate secret Santa tradition, seemed like a good plot to rectify her poor first impression or could buying her gifts be as efficient as poetry in driving away love? You'll have to read it, to find out...
Heartily recommend this book!
