I want to applaud the author for making this book easy to follow. We get two different POV's: Ivy- a famous pop star, and Marla- a top employee at a fashion design house.
Both of these girls (I say girls because they are young teens) get their dream jobs assigned to them through their "taps". They are hugely influential to the general population, but ultimately are puppets for the "silents".
While this book was a fun read, it still addressed some interesting topics that are problematic for the real world. Child labor, the enviroment, the constant pressure to stay on top and win in the "rat race".
Well worth the read- not a traditional HEA but good closure.

This is probably an "it's not you, it's me" book. I just wasn't feeling it AT ALL. Part of it was because it had been so long since I read the last book, I was trying to keep my characters and my packs straight. I liked how "spunky" Roni was, down to the little detail of getting Gretta to like her. Marcus was okay. I just didn't really connect with either of them.
I had a moment of excitement when I thought we were going to see some M/M action. What a bummer it didn't happen. We'll see if I pick the next one up when it comes out.

After one night they both feel this instant life changing attraction that is turning into love. There were so many holes and gaps in this story, I ended up skimming parts of it. It made no sense that Seb would feel all this emotional attachment to Celeste after one night, it sounds like he does this all the time. They never really talked or had any moments of substance until the last few chapters of the book. I wanted to like it. I tried. On to the next.

Savi has had a great love, explosive and all consuming. Until he left her. Her daughter has grown up and moved out and Savi starts to think about her love life again. She can't resist the local vet,Duncan, and after an embarrassing amount of fake check-ups for her dog, she asks him out.
Duncan is so sweet and sexy. He's kind of the perfect guy so its really easy to see how Savi falls for him. Of course nothing can be simple and just when things are finally going her way, Ian walks back into her life. Yes, the great love of her past.

This book had my heart twisted up. How is Savi supposed to choose? Just reading her thoughts (see above) on Ian had me swooning. Ian is her past, her beautiful f'd up past. Duncan could be her amazing future.
I really loved it. Savi is such a real character to me. Her struggles were real, her emotions were real. She isn't perfect and the choices she has to make are not clear cut. There was a whole sub-story going on the same time that we are dealing with the love triangle. No spoilers! :) This was a very well written book and I highly recommend it!!...more

5%... Wait, what is going on here? This is kind of interesting... 15%... Uh, not expecting to be reading an awesome book right now, but I think I am... 35%... Ok, awesome book. I love it. 60%... I need sleep... but I can't stop reading! 70%ISH... fell asleep clutching my kindle.... woke up 5 hrs later because I wanted to finish this.
It's hard to not relate books I'm currently reading to ones I've read in the past. So here's the best I could come up with for this... Catching Jordan meets Fallen Crest High... in the best possible way.
I adored Lacey. She is a badass baseball player, who is trying to make a new start for herself her senior year. After the tragedy of losing part of her family, her and her father move to the east coast to try to move on. Lacey is struggling with PTSD, the stress of trying to obtain a spot on a college baseball team, and making the baseball team in her new high school. She is pretty focused on these goals so she wasn't expecting someone like Kade to shake things up for her.
Kade is sexy, moody and totally into Lacey the minute he meets her. He's the hottest guy around and full out intimidating when he is surrounded by his equally attractive brothers (TRIPLETS!) These guys band together around Lacey as she gets the hang of her new life and trains for try-outs.
Full of drama, lust and character growth, I loved everything about this book. CANNOT wait to read the second installment which won't be out until Spring of 2015 :( :( :( I am very happy to add this to my favorite shelf and look forward more!!!

She is in a job she hates, trying to get in on the fashion world as the next up and coming shoe designer. She found this perfect little coffee shop 2 weeks ago and has been enjoying it as her hide-a-way, and enjoying the man candy who has been making her tea.
Tristan owns the little coffee shop, and has been watching Mandy ever since she first showed up in his store. He is a master cupcake maker, and wants to seduce her with his.... pastries?
So this is where I was like "no" Tristan is a cupcake maker, who is hot, and sensitive, and has a great tan, and is SUPER supportive. What does this make Tristan? GAY! At least thats what I initially thought. Then he goes in typical man-mode and just wants booty.
Between Tristan's lack of balls, and Mandy refusing to even eat ONE bite of a cupcake because she doesn't want to get fat.... I was over it. If the characters aren't endearing in anyway, I find it really hard to get into the story.

I wasn't sure what to think when it started out talking about an elusive club. I've already read this type of story before... but it got much better.
The mystery of the invitation Hadley receives, and the anonymity of the club was so enticing.
This is a VERY short little story of Hadley's first experience with Club Q, and all the fun that is sure to come. I have to say the little Epilogue from the male POV at the end definitely makes me want to finish this series out... I'll look forward to more in the future.

I appreciate the effort that an author puts out to produce a book... that being said, this was not good. I admit I ended up skimming some of it just to make it through.
Annmarie is a fashion designer who is under a lot of stress to get her line production out. She starts having problems with her workers, her "girls" *did not like this term, when they get distracted with the construction crew next door working on a building. Annmarie does her own little watching the half-naked men from the sidelines act, and Nick catches her eye.
Nick is the owner of the construction company and has been aware of Annmaries ogling eyes. He is drawn to her himself, so when she storms his construction site to complain about the shirtless workers, he takes advantage of her for a quick steamy tryst in his office.
The storyline follows their growing attraction and how they work it out to end up being together.
First of all, the writing felt very awkward. It did not flow smoothly and there were an over abundance of adjectives and unnecessary descriptives. Personally I hate the word "mons" and it was used way to much here. Ugh, un-sexy.
Annmarie is unpleasant and unlikeable. There was nothing there to draw me to her. She seems condescending and snooty. That doesn't really change for me throughout the book. The little games she plays, and her anger towards Nick for all the sexual situations they get in are pretty stupid. She comments in the beginning that she is older than her "girls" and feels like they are soo young... well, then act like it woman! A huge amount of this book was her fantasizing about Nick, so when the time came to do something about it, just get it on!
I just don't get the insta-love, the time span that we are covering in this story can't be any more than 3 weeks... Nick and Annmarie didn't talk to eachother or get to know eachother. There wasn't anything solid in here to endear me or connect me to the characters.
2 stars for the author writing the book in the first place, and for the premise of the story- which could've been outstanding... everything else fell very flat for me.

The story follows coincidental circumstances that bring Jax and Riley together. Riley happens to be at an impromptu concert that Jax holds in a dive bar, two nights before she starts her new work assignment.
Riley and Jax instantly connect, and the sexual tension was insane! Riley ends up leaving him in the dressing room with some blue balls and a cocky attitude thinking she will never see him again.... when surprise surprise... he's her new work assignment for the next 2 weeks!
She is assigned to the band as an accountant to try to get their finances in order before they go under, and there is where the adventure begins. Riley and Jax get closer and closer as time goes on and their relationship starts to develop.
Just a few things I liked:
Her friend in the beginning makes a joke to Riley saying she isn't trying to "Clam Jam" her. Why haven't I heard this term before. I was crackin' up!
THE HOT TUB SCENE! HOLY SHIT! So f*cking hot! You will know what I'm talking about when you get to it. Lets just say that scene makes the whole book worth reading... I read a lot of erotica so it takes a lot for me to point out an amazing "sexy scene". Just read it. You will thank me... and the author.
Things that were "eh":
The premise where it turns into love after one week... Hmm. Nope, didn't really work for me. I can see where it could eventually build to that, but it didn't feel natural.
The cliffhanger-ish ending... again not working for me. I at least don't feel like WTF! There was enough there to wrap up this portion of the story, but it is definitely NOT a stand-alone.
All in all- really enjoyed the book. I will definitely continue on with the series. It is worth the read. YOU WILL WANT TO READ THE HOT TUB SCENE. (did I already mention that? ;)

What a pleasant surprise! I loved all the characters; flawed without being broken, funny without being stupid, lovable and completely real.
Sophie was hilarious. I loved reading her constant banter with Gray. From the first chapter and the mistaken identity of being a hooker... she was such a fun character to get to know.
Gray is handsome and brooding... he had some issues to get over but the "hatred" between him and Sophie was some pretty sexy forplay.
I am glad they set up a few other characters in the book, I can tell we will be getting a story about Will and Brynn and I am excited about that one!
Loved the book, loved the author.

The writing style was very different. It was very detached emotionally, and was hard to follow at times.
I think the biggest trouble I had was that Ash went to war, left her farm, her husband and everything she knew behind.... for absolutely no reason.
The last 10% of the book was good because I actually FELT something while reading it.
This one was not for me.

This book swept me off my feet. I thought it was a very sweet love story between two childhood friends.
Daisy had some character building moments in this story, she was a victim of social media bullying and had some mommy issues to overcome. The story starts out with Daisy as a timid anti-social college student who is in extensive therepy for her issues. She meets a girl in one of her college classes and ends up building a friendship with this girl and her room-mate. This is a huge step for her since her attempted suicide and she starts to open up and be happy again like she once was.
By chance, her new friends convince her to go on a road trip to follow around their favorite band for a few weeks during their summer break. The twist is that the lead singer of this rock group is her childhood best friend Daltrey. She hasn't spoken to him in a year since he went on tour. Just flat out quit him cold turkey. She never explained why and never said goodbye. She gives in to her friends for a chance to see him again.
Daltrey has been busy with his building success as a musician for the last year. The band that he and his brothers started have rocketed into success faster and bigger than they imagined. He spend his whole life immursed in music, and has been missing his best friend, Daisy, over the last year. He doesn't know what happened to her, she suddenly stopped taking his calls and eventually cancelled her cell phone number without any explainations. He is so busy, he didn't pursue it.
They find each other on the road, going from concert to concert. Daisy opens up to what has happened to her in the last year, the bullying and insecurity issues she went through, as well as her attempted suicide. Daltrey was shocked and still hurt that she cut him out of her life. They learn to move on from that and both realize they are meant for eachother... and always have been since they were small children.
I like happy stories, with happy endings... and this was one of them. The characters were pretty young, only 19. For that reason, some of it was harder for me to relate to. I was a little surprised to read about Daisy's back story, and see how insecure and timid she ended up. She was confident and secure in her relationship with Daltrey and they were really all eachother needed. To see her be victimized and break down so severly didn't really fit the personality type that she seemed to be.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone who wants a fun light read. It was well-written and I got through the whole book within one sitting (but I do read fast! :) I would also read another book by this author.

Other chapters are inter-woven with her sister-in-law Annabel and brother Simon, the barmaid and another local, and the vicar and his wife. I have already forgotten some of their names and I only finished the book 5 minutes ago. That was my biggest concern... the characters were so forgettable. I had to keep checking back throughout the book to see who was who. The storyline was very slow moving and it took me awhile to get through it.
1 star for a happy ending. 1 star for a few of the characters... I really enjoyed reading about Amy and her dog Jason. She was the local busybody. 1 star for the story just being interesting enough for me to finish.
