I was surprised at the lack of romance, or the very small amount of it. I don't care. I loved Harper, I loved Rhen. I loved Grey.
I didn't love how it was a bit of a cliffhanger ending... a very soft cliffhanger though. I was happy to see there will be a sequel coming out... in a YEAR. I pretty much read this in one day and I am so sad its over and feeling the book hangover right now. It's been awhile since I've gotten so completely wrapped up in a book. ...more

I really loved all the characters, but especially Laila. The steampunk type element with the glamour of Paris in the late 19th century was so fun. I look forward to the next.... however long it will be until it’s published. ...more

I found the names Cather and Wren adorable... mom couldn't come up with a second name when she found out she was having twins so she broke up Catherine? Love it.
Speaking of mom, I am so happy there wasn't some sort of phony redemption that happened with Laura (mom) and the girls. This whole story just felt so real to me. So glad I finally got around to it....more
