Let me explain... this guy Dawson - sexy, hot, crazy rich - randomly goes to a strip club where Grey strips to pay her way through college. She hates doing it so much that she pukes before she gets up on stage every time. It's a lot of puking. So Dawson and his friends pay for VIP treatment and he's so "different" to her that she lets him touch her. Ok, barf... whatever.
Back story on Grey- Christian girl gone bad, unintentionally. That was a whole level of weird in itself. I can relate to this aspect since I grew up in an INSANE strict household- yet the "you are a sinner" chant that played on repeat in her mind was culty and she should probably get some therapy for that.
So Dawson becomes infatuated with the stripper that night with the ominous words "You don't belong here." And imagine his surprise when she shows up prim and proper at his job the next morning as his new intern. I won't make you suffer like I did with all the clichés like I did (he paid for school, GAVE her a new Range Rover, got possessive, blah blah blah).
It was the "I love you, Grey" at 68% after they knew each other for three weeks, where they never actually spent any time together. That was it. I was done. My eyes are slightly strained from all the eye-rolling I did for the first 68% of the book, I couldn't risk an actual injury if I continued on. See, my theory is- she had just told him she was a virgin and he wanted to get "in" that no matter what.
So yeah, I thought this whole thing was awful. It seems like a lot of people really liked it though, so if you want to risk it- go for it. ...more

You just find out you have a half-sister who is only a year older than you- she shows up at your doorstep and just moves in- you are best friends with her in 5 minutes. There may be a story here somewhere in the bad writing... but I just can't put anymore effort into it at this point.
