I swear EM Lindsey uses their books like a voodoo doll. Poking and prodding at all my soft spots and bruises. I picture them sitting back with a self-satisfied smirk every time I reach for another tissue.
London Fog isn’t heartwrenching - it’s tender and sweet, but it delves into the themes of not feeling worthy, self-doubt and some feeling broken or not ‘normal’, and those subjects just get me every time.
I loved both men. Wren has spent a lifetime trying to feel like he belongs. Hearing and Deaf. Sex and romance. So when UK transplant Percy embarrasses himself epically, something about the man speaks to him. Despite his belief that he would never do more than hook up, he wants another night, and another, and to keep him.
Percy’s ex did a complete and long-lasting number on him. Now he’s in another country trying to learn sign language, feeling completely out of his depths. Which, gah, don’t we all know that feeling of trying to be well-meaning, but screwing it up anyways. *not going to cry writing the review*
Damn it, this relationship was so real. Perfect for each other, and messing it up all at the same time. They both had a lot of healing and self-discovery that they had to do, but thankfully they both also understood and were willing to find their way through together. And really, isn’t that the most beautiful relationship, one built on learning together?
There were also plenty of sweetness, smiles, and sexy times which always make the misty eyes worth it! ...more

I don’t know whose story we’ve been waiting for more. Easy - the man who lives up to his nickname. Or Lux - the presumably straight best friend who followed Easy to a gay island.
Thankfully we don’t have to choose, because these two are a package deal.
This story was all kinds of sweet. They’ve been best friends their entire lives, and they literally can’t imagine being apart.
I loved getting into their heads. Poor Easy has been in love with Lux for a long time, but he’s long come to terms with the fact that he’ll never feel the same. In ‘that’ way at least. Lux doesn’t feel that way about anyone. But he does love his best friend in all other ways.
One night things start to shift for Lux, discovering that being on the Asexual spectrum doesn’t mean you won’t ever feel sexual attraction.
It was fun watching them shift from BFFs to lovers to boyfriends. In many ways, it was a first for them both. In lots of ways nothing changed between them, yet it changed everything.
They really were the cutest couple.
“He’s mine. His pleasure, his heart, his future. All of it is mine, and all of mine is his. Always.”

Horrible exes, past hurts and a toxic work environment cause some difficulties in these two getting things started, but some good old forced proximity a la snowstorm and one hotel room mean they get to find their way past some of it.
There’s definitely an insta-attraction here, and though their relationship does move quickly, it doesn’t feel insta-love. There’s a maturity and world-weariness to these men who you quickly want to route for. Their age also lends credence to their fears. They’ve been around, experienced a lot, they’ve earned their fears and caution, but are also able to know what they are looking for, what’s worth fighting for.
It’s a compassionate story with a couple of really lovely men.

I think these two firecrackers may be the swooniest of them all.
Sure, Riggs is prickly AF. Or as Shep describes him…"He’s like a take no sh*t, overconfident little goblin we should all aspire to be.” He’ll worm his way into your heart unlike any other.
You’ll also fall for our fun-loving, part golden retriever, Shep. I giggled when he declares them best friends, and there is just no way to be anything but. Also, the way he loves Riggs wholly and completely is absolutely stunning.
“I want him. I want the filthy parts and the prickly parts, all the sweet parts he keeps hidden from the world and even from himself. All of it. All of him.”
"You just let me be. You let me feel things the way I feel them, and you never act like there's something missing inside of me."
This couple, who for the most part don’t realize they are a couple get up to so many antics as they try and sort through their feelings, that it’s hard not to smile.
They may not have a ‘typical’ relationship, but wow it was gorgeous to see them both find their person....more
This isn’t just a slow burn, it’s more like they took the long way around! But boy was it worth it.
Raphael was probably my favourite side character from the previous book State of Mind. He’s got a fantastic dry sarcastic sense of humour and he keeps his circle small. The circle now includes Dimitri.
Dimitri is a lovely twenty-something who has always felt a little on the outside. On the outside of his family. On the outside of the town. But he is loyal and still holds a quiet desire to find people who want to claim him.
It’s how the friendship between these two begins. A quiet step forward in finding someone who gets them. Both of them looking for someone who will like/love them wholly as they are. Raphael who has cerebral palsy and seizures, and Dimitri, adopted and also discovering and processing his asexuality. They’ve both had their fair share of being othered. Of not being enough.
The bond they create is tender and beautiful, but it takes a while and some meandering over the years for them to truly find their way to each other. ...more

Reimagine is a very sweet and cuddly story with some wonderful ace and non-binary rep. I love books that represent a variety of sexualities.
Both MCs are lovely and kind. Reconnecting after years since their families were friends. So it makes sense for Elliot to rent a room from Travis. Except for their crush.
“Should I really be moving in with Travis when I’m into him? It’s a recipe for disaster. Having a crush on a straight guy.”
Travis has an easy acceptance of Elliot, and it’s swoony how much he wants Elliot to be themselves. It’s not surprising that it takes some time for Elliot to trust the truth of Travis’ words and actions. Other folks haven’t always been kind or understanding. Thankfully Travis never gives up.
This is a low-angst story that was steady and true and full of cuddles....more

Twins Mason and Shiloh will break your heart with the things they’ve endured, including losing a father before they knew how much he loved them. It was difficult watching Mason in book one as he struggled to deal with Shiloh finding someone to love that wasn’t him. But it’s all part of their journey, finding their way in this new life. And for Mason, this new life in this big city is a struggle. It’s A LOT!
But in the process, he finds a friend. Wickham.
Wickham has his own issues - mainly dealing with his horrible mother and absent father. He wants to live his own life, choose his own career, and find his own life partner, but Mommy Dearest isn’t making it easy.
These show each other so much kindness and support, and a safe place for them each to find their way. It’s not just grandiose things, it’s the small moments too.
These two, along with Shiloh, Trey, and Mags make an amazing found family. Full of growth and tenderness. ...more
This is a lovely gem. A novella set in the UK and follows two men who fall in love while on a treasure hunt.
Niclas’ brother talks his best friend Falk into joining Niclas on his summer hunt for artifacts. He’s as clumsy as he is smart and could use a bodyguard so he doesn’t end up in the ER.
What neither of them knows is that they each have a crush on the other. Which will either make a very long vacation or the best thing to ever happen to them.
I love the representation of asexuality. I haven’t read a story before with two people who identify that way. It’s also exciting to have an autistic character written by an autistic author....more

What I love most about this series is that the characters are given such depth. They aren’t pigeonholed into their roles of Artist and Athlete, they all have talents and interests far beyond their art or sport. And that is very true of Omar and Sly.
Omar, the soccer star with a love for the theatre. A party boy, who categorically refuses to ever have a relationship. And Sly, who’s just started at Korham, hates to be touched and likes the idea of intimacy even less.
But somehow this unlikely duo finds themselves unable to avoid each other. As they work on the same play together, they form a friendship. A friendship that is so wonderful and supportive. The care Omar takes with Sly and helping him find comfort in his own skin was really quite lovely. I really liked them both. They each had something to bring to the table, but they also had their own vulnerability that equalized this pair in a really heartfelt way.
This novel has a really great storyline of self-discovery and acceptance, and not just finding love, but finding love that is more about what it can give the other than themselves.
"You've always loved big, wildly, fiercely, despite what others thought. So it doesn’t surprise me that you have enough love in that heart of yours"You've always loved big, wildly, fiercely, despite what others thought. So it doesn’t surprise me that you have enough love in that heart of yours for two.”
I can’t put into words how perfect Emmy’s stories are. She writes these amazing stories that are beautiful, kind, patient, and tender. They flow so well, and they make you swoon, smile, and feel completely at peace.
You can read the novels on their own, but I don’t recommend it. They are a family, and progressively knowing them through each novel is part of what makes each story so incredible. This story about Wil is a case in point, we’ve seen him grow up, love his family so incredibly, and now, with his own story, his love, it’s amazing. Not to mention getting to see the people from previous stories will make you happy all over again.
This family, the people of Plum Valley, are special. As is this fascinating triad. They are all wonderful as their own people and their coming together was perfect. Their dynamic, their relationships with each other, and the progression - it was exceptional, and of course, the representation of both a poly relationship and someone asexual was pretty great to see.
I'm so glad this series isn't over yet, because I can't bare to part with Plum Valley just yet. ...more
It was inevitable that I would love this book. Briar is an incredible writer, and this story was beautiful.
Drew and Bas are best friends who have been circling the fact they love each other. A mix of believing they don’t deserve their love and worried their feelings won’t be reciprocated.
Enter Ezra, a young man who’s struggling, but damn I love how relentless he is in not giving up. But it also leaves him with trust issues. And believing Drew and Bas could be real definitely requires trust.
I loved the journey this union took. It felt organic and natural. I enjoy a story with push and pull, and that was especially true with three men trying to find their way together.
Oh, the epilogue…pretty special!
PS. if you love audiobooks, this one is narrated by none other than John Solo. His sexy voice and style lent well to this story. ...more
